What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complicated marketing technologies, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played around with email advertising for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets that his lovers rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels WordPress
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take weeks. But they had good potential as a product and soon realized their creation would be useful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not know you and turns them to clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call internet traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar shop, that’s like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your customers into buying something. In a digital store, you could be a little more remote from the visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel works step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer till visitors end up at a payment page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you are right–it has become a massive bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson did get rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energyto do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making your consumer money. They make it put your content up simple to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather simple to select everything up–it’ll probably take you a couple hours to find out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a feature that is pretty important, and they’ve pulled it off well. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder, As soon as you get accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the traffic you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
Overall, it is good to get things so concentrated: I will construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the complete package might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels WordPress
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have when they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few places that need work.
A little drawback is the price. There are two pricing alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I have said , just another investment in your organization, and a huge drawback, you receive a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their product but that I take a slight problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a advertising for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you will find yourself purchasing online classes, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and many posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they are more focused on making quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and experts, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
We know the creator is a marketing magician, but so much of this product is tied into his philosophy and his own brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when some aspects of their product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the capability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some mistakes or will return. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or driving visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. Barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches when I clone pages using the HTML printing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options change, etcand it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my applications, especially if it is a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and give more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the support , in order you do not need to commit to a costly plan straight away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe they’re strong and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels WordPress
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the backup, the split test basically lets you choose what percentages of the visitors you need to see per page, letting you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s easy to use and a function.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the fundamental features were pretty great.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
But are such features, or products? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration

You can view the full list of features, together with Full Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing sales, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive advantage that you can’t do without themfor most users, just StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wanted to devote special attention. In fact, I feel a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite an array of templates with great designs, though as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. It is possible to toggle with settings and open from the editor as you can see.
You be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go inside columns and also make your page interactive.
It may sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it is a section, however if I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. Personally, I don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other advertising and marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you can add to your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, just click the one. Clickfunnels WordPress
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations normally run smoothly and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of usage –because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say that the learning curve would be only a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all prospective users input with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those that offer B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does products or ventures. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those industries: for example, if you are a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be support also. The same goes for individuals selling content like publications or classes.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely in their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price , and you have to make your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only for SaaS companies, but still adequate. Their page includes a collection of classes, each with their own posts. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnels WordPress
As the customer service, they have a feature inside the dashboard once you log into for, but I am not overly delighted with it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when features have not worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, client support reps were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it might be a unlikely situation.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team largely understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe most consumers, myself included, would not state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It’s good! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: Should you want a more answer to your marketing needs with customization skills that are higher, you may want to check. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other advantages such as templates that are superior , strong integrations, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for less entrepreneurs. I am pretty certain that for the vast majority of users, enough choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking first and foremost for an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. In the end, it has not attained its popularity on promises, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
