ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complex marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets that his fans rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Woocommerce
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their creation would be useful to others and had great potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t know you personally and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to direct a website visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a less dull way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into clients. In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. In a store, you can speak your customers into buying something. In a digital store, you could be a bit more remote from the customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ . The funnel functions step-by-step, bring visitors in closer and closer till people end up at a page.
You’re correct if you think that sounds cool –it’s become a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t only become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energyto do what otherwise demands a whole lot of competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money. They make it put your content up, simple to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty easy to select everything up–it will likely take you a few hours to find out a lot of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a fairly important attribute, and they have pulled it. It is an simple to use drag and drop builder, once you become used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of your visitors you wish to view version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to manage.
You’ll also find a useful WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress website. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
Overall, it’s great to have things so centralized: I will construct my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Woocommerce
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have if they tried to manage funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a huge drawback, just another investment in your organization, and like I’ve said, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental questions, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more innovative features, they will not be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the product but I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a great marketing for certain. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This usually means you will end up purchasing online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and many articles is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
Much of the product is tied into his doctrine and his own brand, although we all know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when some elements of their product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. As you have the ability to customize within ClickFunnels, many people use similar designs. Taking into consideration the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some mistakes or will go down. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, unless you always wait or wait till you hear from angry customers. When I replicate pages using the HTML publishing alternative, barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my software if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be more economical upfront and give more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you do not need to commit to a costly plan right away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a pretty great job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature that lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to view the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe that they’re strong and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Woocommerce
A/B split testing is definitely, although a more compact feature a notable one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the split test basically enables you to select what percentages of the visitors you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is simple to use and a function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the fundamental features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and also you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The chief goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate system easier and more efficient.
However, are products that are different, or such attributes? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, together with complete Suite attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing sales, I do not believe you would find yourself shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can not do without themfor most users, just StartUp will offer a thorough enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wanted to devote attention to it. In reality, I think a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You might also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, you open in the editor and can toggle with settings.
You’ll basically be working with a drop and drag builder When your pages open in the editor. It’s a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within every other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Basically: elements, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or around four. Elements are the dynamic bits that go columns and make your page interactive.
It might sound complicated, but it is pretty simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it’s a section, but if I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within those rows and columns. Personally, I do not believe this is a massive problem and the builder provides you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you can add to your integrations easily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations section, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Woocommerce
The process for handling integrations can also be simple, though you may need to check your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely simple method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally run smoothly and you do not have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its ease of use–because their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be only a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all potential users input with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the most use from it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does nicely with those offering more ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be great support too. The same goes for individuals selling content like classes or books.
Of course, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their docs page has a series of classes, each with their own posts. It may be easy, but content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Woocommerce
As the customer service, they have a chat feature within the dashboard after you log into for, but I’m not delighted by it. They have generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they required to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In instances when features haven’t worked as promised or if there were bizarre site malfunctions, customer service representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a unlikely situation.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools fresh for their users, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least queries will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the overarching conclusion? It is fine –4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: If you need a more answer to your advertising needs with customization skills, you may want to check. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional positives like templates, integrations that are solid, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for significantly less entrepreneurs. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, the webpage builder offers option. If you’re looking first and foremost for a simple but solid sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It has not reached its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
