What’s ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated marketing technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).

The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but advertising adventures. He played with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two novels and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets his lovers rave that guide and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Video

ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his staff create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They had good potential as a product and soon realized their creation would be useful to other people.

Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures designed to guide a web site visitor to the checkout page.

There’s a way of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors into customers. In a physical shop, that is like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a store, you can speak your clients. In a digital store, you could be a little more remote from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer until visitors wind up in a payment page.

You’re correct if you feel this sounds cool –it has become a huge bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson didn’t only become rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise requires a lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Cash

One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money for the consumer. They make it put up your content quite simple to make your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it is rather easy to select everything up–it’ll likely take you a few hours to find out a lot of what you need, max.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a fairly important attribute, and they have pulled it. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder once you get used to it.

A/B analyzing

Constructed in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and choose the numbers of the traffic that you want to view variant A or B.

Great selection of Integrations

I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.

WordPress Plugin

You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active setups.

All in 1

Overall, it is good to have things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.

All of this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.

Reasonable Value

You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Video

ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.

Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review

I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few areas that need work.

A small drawback is the cost. There are two options, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I have said , another investment in your business, and a massive drawback, you receive a package for it.

Lackluster Client Support

Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental questions, but if you inquire harder things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.

Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Founder

This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a slight problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a great advertising for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you can try to examine the objective features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.

This means you will end up buying online courses, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.

So much of the item is tied to his doctrine and his own brand, although we all know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it looks to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.

Sometimes it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when a few aspects of the merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a lot of money.

It’s also difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML publishing option barring bandwidth, I also deal with some glitches.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.

I enjoy consistency in my software if it is a business alternative.

Too Simple

Finally, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with : it is too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t need to commit to an expensive plan straight away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).

Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty great job. I consider it a fantastic investment.

The main differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.

However, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which allows you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.

If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of the ClickFunnels review.

To summarize the differences, StartUp basically carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list .

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Video

A/B split testing is definitely, although a smaller feature a one.

If you replicate a page and make changes to the backup, the divide test basically enables you to choose what percentages of your traffic you want to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s quite simple to use and a fantastic function.

In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the fundamental features were fairly good.

There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.

Actionetics and Backpack

I have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.

However, are products that are different, or these features? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder for me, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.

Here is the full list of StartUp features
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 traffic
  • boundless contacts
  • 3 habit domains
  • A/B split evaluations
  • Email integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All innovative funnels
  • Revenue funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Endless members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Purchase webpages
  • Upsell pages
  • Downsale webpages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 billing integration per type

You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you are in a position where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you’d find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can’t do without them: for most users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough adequate bundle.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wished to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I think a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.

Anyhow, there is rather a range of templates with great layouts, though as you can expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.

You might also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with fundamental settings and open from the editor.

Once you open your pages you will basically be working with a drag and drop builder. It is a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still user friendly.

The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within each other (this informative article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: components, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go indoors segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or around four. Elements are the bits that also make your page interactive to its visitors and go columns.

It may sound complicated, but it’s rather simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box since it is a part, however when I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.

You could edit section, row, column, and so on, through the side bar. Parts of your webpage and all the small details can be altered or moved. The editor allows for lots of customization, but provides control . You can do a variety of things–mobile previews, edit colours, text, settings, and nearly anything you expect. If you are handy with code, then you may also add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A small criticism I have heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within those rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re registered with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has quite a few partners you can add to your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Continuous Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one. Clickfunnels Video

The procedure for handling integrations can also be simple, though you might need to look at your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the procedure pretty simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.

A list of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Managing all these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations run smoothly and you do not have to fret much.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is pretty significant.

Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.

Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I would say that the learning curve could be just a couple hours maximum. If you behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned earlier in the critique.

Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.

All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is things you can figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs center.

Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely won’t be enough to significantly hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all potential users enter with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who’s ClickFunnels for?

Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some businesses over others.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those offering B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more products or individual ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there could be good support also. The same goes for people selling content such as courses or publications.

Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t think you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you need to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to maintain a better landing page.

Customer Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their page includes a collection of classes. It may be simple, but content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Video

As the immediate customer assistance, they’ve a feature within the dashboard once you log into for, but I’m not pleased with it. They have been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when attributes haven’t worked if there were site malfunctions or as promised, client service reps were supposedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a bizarre, unlikely situation.

Total Support Rating

I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think the team mostly understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools new for their customers, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Perhaps users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets. Within this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

So, what’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising program area and worth trying out.

Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you might want to look, Should you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.

But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let other advantages such as integrations that are strong, the learning curve, and templates that are superior.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty sure that for the majority of users, the page builder provides option. If you’re looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. In the end, it has not reached its popularity on promises, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
