ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complex marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not only from ClickFunnels, but advertising experiences. He played around with email marketing for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two books his lovers rave about and that direct people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels Social Image
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their production would be helpful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes people who don’t know you and turns them into clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to guide a website visitor.
There is a way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors into clients. In a brick and mortar store, that is like people walking into your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. In a physical store, you can speak your clients. In a digital store, you may be a bit more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up in a page.
You are right if you think that sounds cool –it’s turned into a massive bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological proficiency and/or a range of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it easy to make your accounts, put up your content, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s rather easy to select up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a feature that is fairly important, and they’ve pulled it off nicely. It is an builder, As soon as you become used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the numbers of the traffic you want to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
Overall, it’s great to get things so centralized: I will build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You can be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you have over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Social Image
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has a number of areas that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are only two alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your organization, a drawback, and like I have mentioned, you get a fantastic package for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a fantastic advertising. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This usually means you’ll end up buying online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
We know the founder is a marketing magician, but much of this product is tied into his brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when a few aspects of their product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the community. While you’ve got the capability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, many people use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some mistakes or will go down. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing alternative barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency in my applications if it’s a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the service, so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some might say so, and I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 a month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which lets you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re strong and you get everything you want. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Social Image
A/B split testing is a smaller feature, but definitely a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the split test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of the traffic you want to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It is a function and quite easy to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I thought the fundamental features were pretty good.
There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of businesses, and also you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are such attributes, or products that are different? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a little confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You may view the full list of features, together with Full Suite features, here. If you are in a situation where you can afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge advantage that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will offer a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wished to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite a range of templates with good designs, however as you may expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with settings.
You be working with a drag and drop builder When your pages open from the editor. It is a little more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these components as fitting inside every other (this informative article includes a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go columns and also make your page interactive.
It might sound complex, but it is rather easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it’s a part, but when I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but don’t have ) on the builder is the way grid-like it is–you have to work within those rows and columns. Personally, I don’t think this is a huge problem and the builder gives you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different kinds of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few noteworthy partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one you desire and add it. Clickfunnels Social Image
The process for handling integrations is also simple, though you might have to check your third party software’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations run smoothly and you don’t have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it is stuff you can determine by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all prospective users input with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience here) will get the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those industries: for example, if you are a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there could be support too. The same holds for people selling content like courses or books.
Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t think you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price , and you need to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is still sufficient, although just for SaaS companies. Their page includes a series of classes, each with their own posts. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnels Social Image
As the direct customer service, they have a feature within the dashboard after you log in for, but I’m not too delighted by it. They’ve generally been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t offer that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when features have not worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, customer support representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. When he contacted customer service, he discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic. It may be a scenario that is bizarre, unlikely, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel that the team understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic questions will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps consumers would not state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it at least great. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: If you need a more solution to your marketing needs with customization skills that are higher, you may want to check. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or some glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone additional advantages like solid integrations the short learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty certain that for the vast majority of prospective users, the webpage builder offers option. If you’re looking for a simple but solid sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not attained its popularity on empty promises, and that I’m giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
