What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using otherwise complicated marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email advertising for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets that his fans rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Promotion
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for different ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. However, they had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not know you personally and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures developed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or website visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a physical shop, that is like people walking in to your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. In a store, you can talk your customers. In a shop, you could be a little more remote from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a page.
You are correct, if you think this sounds cool –it’s become a huge deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did not just become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money for the user. They make it simple to make your account, put up your content, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather easy to select up everything –it will likely take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how simple it’s to replicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a feature that is fairly important, and they have pulled it. Once you get accustomed to it, it’s an builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the traffic you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which allows you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it’s good to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can rest assured the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Promotion
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they would have if they tried to handle funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of areas that need work.
A drawback is the price. There are two alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your business, a huge drawback, and like I’ve said, you receive a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They have a great marketing for certain. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you may attempt to look at the objective features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This means you will end up buying online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and posts consists of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
A lot of the product is tied to his own brand and his philosophy, although Most of us know the creator is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some aspects of the merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many men and women use designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some mistakes. Though this doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I clone pages using the HTML printing option barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, especially if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the support , in order you do not have to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say , and that I can see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Promotion
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but unquestionably a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically lets you select what percentages of the traffic you want to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is simple to use and a function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were pretty great.
There are a number of types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of companies, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are these attributes, or products that are separate? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to sell a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I’m just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not think you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive advantage that you can not do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s rather a range of templates with good layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty simple to find them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings that are basic and open from the editor.
You will basically be working with a drag and drop builder When your pages start from the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Think of these components as fitting inside every other (this informative article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or around four. Elements are the dynamic bits that go columns and also make your page interactive.
It might sound complex, but it is rather easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box since it is a section, however if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within those rows and columns. I personally do not think this is a huge problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of instance, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It, just click on the one you want and insert it. Clickfunnels Promotion
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very straightforward method of incorporating and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations operate smoothly and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is really significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve would be just a few hours max. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can determine by Googling around or seeing the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I would indicate all prospective users input with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those offering B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more ventures or creative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be support too. The same holds for people selling content such as classes or books.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to produce your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their docs page has a collection of categories, each with their own articles. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnels Promotion
As for the direct customer service, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard once you log in, but I am not too delighted by it. They’ve been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more advanced questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. Notably, in instances when features haven’t worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, customer service reps were allegedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a situation.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team understand that their services are not easy to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Perhaps users would not say ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it largely meets a minimum which makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you might want to look into third party options you can connect together If you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let additional positives like strong integrations, the learning curve, and good templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain higher conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are less. I’m pretty sure that for the majority of users, enough option is offered by the page builder. If you’re looking to get an sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. On empty promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that I’m giving it 4/5 celebrities.
