What’s ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complex advertising technologies, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).

The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets his lovers rave about and that direct people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Podcast

ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take months. They soon realized their production would be useful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.

What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes people who don’t know you and turns them into clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to direct a website visitor.

There is a method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar store, that is like people walking into your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a store, you can speak your clients. In a shop that is digital, you may be a bit more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, bring visitors in closer and closer till visitors end up at a page.

You are correct if you feel this sounds cool –it’s become a huge bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of competence and/or a range of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Money

Among the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning the user money. They make it quite easy to make your accounts, put your content up, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is rather easy to pick everything up–it’ll probably take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important feature, and they have pulled it. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder As soon as you become accustomed to it.

A/B testing

Built in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the traffic that you want to see variant A or B.

Great Choice of Integrations

I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.

WordPress Plugin

You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active setups.

All in one

Overall, it is great to have things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.

All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on developers, CSShosting configurations, etc.

Reasonable Value

You can be sure that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Podcast

ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have if they attempted to manage funnels another way.

Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review

I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few places that require work.

Overpriced?

A small drawback is the price. There are just two pricing options, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your organization a huge drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a fantastic package for this.

Lackluster Client Support

Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with basic queries, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.

Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder

This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small problem with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a great marketing for sure. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you can try to examine the objective features of this software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.

This means you will find yourself purchasing online courses, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and many posts consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more focused on earning quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.

Most of us know the founder is a marketing magician, but so much of the item is tied to his brand and his philosophy. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.

At times it’s difficult not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels however more on the community. As you have the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t occur frequently, there’s little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a lot of cash.

It’s also hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, unless you always wait or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.

I like consistency in my software, especially if it is a business solution.

Too Straightforward

Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and give more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the service, in order you do not need to commit to a costly plan right away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).

Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.

The principal differences between an entry level account and a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.

But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.

If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.

To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official list .

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe that they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Podcast

A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a noteworthy one.

If you replicate a page and make changes to the backup, the divide test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the visitors that you need to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a function and easy to use.

In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for different settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the basic features were pretty great.

There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.

Actionetics and Backpack

I take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.

However, are different products, or such features? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Full Suite a little perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.

Here is the full list of all StartUp attributes
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 visitors
  • boundless contacts
  • 3 custom domains
  • A/B split evaluations
  • Email integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All innovative funnels
  • Sales funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Endless members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Order pages
  • Upsell webpages
  • Downsale pages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 charging integration per type

You can watch the complete list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t think you’d find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge benefit that you can not do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote attention to it. In reality, I think a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.

Anyhow, there is rather a range of templates with good designs, however as you can expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.

You can also save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it’s rather simple to find them. It is possible to toggle with settings and open in the editor as you can see.

You’ll basically be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages start from the editor. It is a little more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still user friendly.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting inside each other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the lively bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go columns.

It may sound complicated, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it’s a section, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.

You can also edit by section, row, column, etc, via the side bar. All of the little details and parts of your page can be moved or altered. The editor allows for plenty of customization, but provides good control also. You can do all sorts of things–cellular previews, edit colours, text, settings, and nearly anything you expect. If you are handy with code, you can also add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you may enhance your integrations easily. Here’s a Complete list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Constant Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, just click the one you desire and insert it. Clickfunnels Podcast

The procedure for managing integrations can also be simple, though you might have to look at your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the procedure pretty simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple way of incorporating and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.

A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Managing all these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations normally operate smoothly and you don’t need to fret much about them.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of usage –because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is pretty significant.

Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.

Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned earlier in the critique of Russell Brunson.

Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.

All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a little bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling around or seeing the docs centre.

Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all prospective users enter with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who is ClickFunnels for?

Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses over others.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support also. The same holds for individuals selling content like books or courses.

Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, okay with the price tag, and you need to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.

Customer Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their docs page has a collection of categories, each with their own articles. It might be easy, however content-wise it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Podcast

As once you log into for the customer service, they have a feature within the dashboard, but I am not delighted by it. They’ve been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

Furthermore, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. In instances when features haven’t worked when there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer service representatives were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. He discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer service. It might be a improbable scenario, however it illustrates the point.

Total Support Rating

I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team largely understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Perhaps consumers would not state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing program space and worth trying out.

Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: Should you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with greater customization skills, you might want to check into third party options you’ll be able to connect. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or any glitches in the software. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.

But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone additional advantages like strong integrations, the short learning curve, and templates that are superior.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of prospective users, the page builder provides enough option. If you’re looking for an sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. On promises, it hasn’t reached its popularity after all, and that is why I am giving it 4/5 stars.
