ClickFunnels has made a pretty big name for itself since it started, getting one of the most significant marketing SaaS (Software as a Service) businesses round. I suppose it’s no surprise–ClickFunnels is about earning its users cash. More importantly, it’s about giving companies software that helps them turn their own website visitors. During this ClickFunnels review, I will go through the gist of ClickFunnels–what it is, the positives and the negatives, the features, customer service, and so forth. I am basing this review on my experience with ClickFunnels’ StartUp plan, which comes with the ClickFunnels features and tons of bells and whistles. What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated marketing technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played around with email advertising for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets that his fans rave that direct and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Plan
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. But they soon realized their production would be useful to other people and had great potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes individuals who don’t know you personally and turns them to clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to guide a website visitor.
There is a method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into customers. In a physical store, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. You can talk your clients into purchasing something. In a digital shop, you may be a bit more remote from the visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till people end up at a page.
If you think that sounds cool, you are right–it’s turned into a massive deal for internet advertising. Russell Brunson did not just become wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energyto do exactly what otherwise requires a lot of competence and/or a range of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money. They make it put your content up simple to make your account, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty simple to pick up everything –it will probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to replicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a feature that is fairly important, and they’ve pulled it. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder, once you get accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the numbers of the traffic you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
In general, it is great to have things so centralized: I will build my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Plan
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they would have if they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are only two pricing alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not like I have said a different investment in your business, and a huge drawback, you get a package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental queries, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight problem with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a marketing. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you may attempt to look at the objective features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you will find yourself purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more focused on making quick cash instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
We know the creator is a marketing wizard, but much of this item is tied into his philosophy and his brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard to not get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some aspects of the product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many men and women use designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, you may potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are working or not, unless you always check or wait till you hear from angry customers. Barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches when I replicate pages using the HTML printing alternative.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, especially if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches that can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to an expensive plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say so, and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the differences, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can watch the complete official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think that they’re solid and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Plan
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of the traffic you need to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very handily. It’s a great function and very easy to use.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are a number of types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of companies, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complicated. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more effective.
But are such features, or separate products? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels

- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members

- Purchase webpages
- Upsell pages

You can view the full list of features, along with Full Suite features, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to afford to try out Etison for a bit and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can’t do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will offer a thorough enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ most important feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention to it. In reality, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite an array of templates with great layouts, though as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might also save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it’s pretty simple to see them. You can toggle with fundamental settings and open in the editor as you can see.
You will essentially be working with a drop and drag builder once your pages start in the editor. It’s a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four main components: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these components as fitting inside each other (this informative article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that also make your page interactive and go inside columns.
It may sound complicated, but it’s rather simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it is a part, however if I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a huge problem and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you may add to your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click on the one you want and add it. Clickfunnels Plan
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you may have to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple way of adding and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all of these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally operate and you do not need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of usage –because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is really important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I’d say that the learning curve would be just a couple hours maximum. If you’re really behind, pick up the books mentioned earlier in the critique of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most queries must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it’s stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling around or seeing the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all prospective users input with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will get the maximum use from it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those offering B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does products or independent ventures. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you are a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be support also. The same goes for people selling content like books or classes.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is sufficient, although only for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a collection of categories, each with their own articles. It might be simple, however it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Plan
As after you log into for the immediate customer service, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not too pleased with it. They have generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they took three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when features have not worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, client service reps were allegedly either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It may be a situation that is improbable, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their services are not perfectly simple to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Perhaps most users wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the verdict that is overarching? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you may want to check Should you need a more answer to your advertising needs with greater customization abilities. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with customer service agents, or any glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other positives like solid integrations, the brief learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I am pretty certain that for the majority of prospective users, the page builder provides enough choice. If you’re looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. On promises, it has not reached its popularity after all, and that is why I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
