What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complex advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email marketing for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two novels and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets his fans rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Mission Statement
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team produce funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to guide a website visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or website visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a physical store, you can speak your clients into purchasing something. In a store, you may be a bit more distant from the customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until people wind up in a page.
If you think that sounds cool, you’re right–it has become a massive bargain for internet marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t just become wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise requires a lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money for your user. They make it put up your content, quite easy to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s rather easy to select everything up–it’ll probably take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it is to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they’ve pulled it. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder once you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of your traffic you want to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a useful WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is great to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Mission Statement
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that need work.
A little drawback is the cost. There are just two alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback, just another investment in your organization, and like I have said, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with basic questions, but if you inquire harder things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of this software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This usually means you will find yourself purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and many posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing magician, but so much of this product is tied into his doctrine and his own brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the community. While you’ve got the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many people use designs. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there’s little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait till you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML publishing option barring uptime, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency in my applications, especially if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that can be more economical upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test the service, in order you do not have to commit to a costly plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality that lets you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can watch the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re solid and you get whatever you need. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Mission Statement
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically lets you choose what percentages of your visitors that you need to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It is a function and very easy to use.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were fairly good.
There are a number of types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of businesses, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate program simpler and more effective.
However, are products, or these features? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the full list of features, along with complete Package attributes, here. If you’re in a position where you can manage to try out Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing sales, I do not think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote attention. In fact, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite a range of templates with great designs, though as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is rather easy to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings and open in the editor.
You will essentially be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that go inside columns and also make your page interactive to its visitors.
It might sound complex, but it is rather easy to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it’s a part, but if I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you have to work within those rows and columns. Personally, I don’t think this is a huge problem and the builder provides you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It, just click the one. Clickfunnels Mission Statement
The procedure for handling integrations is also simple, though you may have to look at your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll discover the process simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be a lot of store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of usage –because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of usage is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say that the learning curve would be only a couple hours maximum. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned previously in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it appears to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all potential users input with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will find the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more individual ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be great support also. The same goes for people selling content like publications or courses.
Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you should decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of categories, each with their own articles. It may be simple, but it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Mission Statement
As for the direct customer assistance, they have a chat feature within the dashboard after you log in, but I am not overly delighted by it. They’ve generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In cases when features have not worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client service representatives were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. After he contacted customer service, he found that they were apathetic and unhelpful. It might be a scenario, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum which makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you might want to look into third party options you can tie Should you need a more answer to your advertising needs with greater customization abilities. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone advantages like templates that are superior , solid integrations, and the brief learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I am pretty certain that for the majority of users, option is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking first and foremost for an sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. After all, it has not attained its popularity on promises, and that I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
