What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated advertising technologies, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played with email marketing for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets, two books that his lovers rave about and that guide people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Masterclass
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take months. But they soon realized their creation would be helpful to others and had great potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes people who don’t understand you and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures developed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There is a method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into clients. In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without purchasing anything. At a physical store, you can speak your customers into buying something. In a store, you could be a little more remote from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel functions step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer until visitors wind up at a page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you are correct –it has turned into a huge bargain for online advertising. Russell Brunson did become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energy–to do what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money for your user. They make it simple to make your account, put your content up, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty easy to select everything up–it will likely take you a couple hours to find out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a pretty important attribute, and they’ve pulled it. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder, As soon as you get used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the amounts of your visitors that you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
In general, it is good to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure that the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Masterclass
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they would have if they tried to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not like I have said , another investment in your business, and a drawback, you receive a good package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but I take a small issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a fantastic marketing for certain. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to examine the objective features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you will find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and many articles is composed of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more focused on making quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
Much of this product is tied into his brand and his philosophy, although Most of us know the creator is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some aspects of the product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more about the community. While you have the capability to customize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some errors or will go down. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a few hours, then you may potentially lose a good deal of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait until you hear from angry clients. Barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches when I clone webpages using the HTML publishing alternative.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency in my applications, particularly if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be more economical upfront and yield more control over handling specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the service, so at least you do not need to commit to a costly program right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 a month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the complete list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature that lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and custom domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to view the complete official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think that they’re strong and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Masterclass
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the traffic you need to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is quite easy to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of companies, and also you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complicated. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate system easier and more efficient.
However, are these features, or products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You can view the full list of features, together with Full Suite features, here. If you’re in a situation where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you would find yourself shorted. By that same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can’t do without them: for many users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In reality, I think a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and make own page templates, and it is pretty simple to see them. As you can see, you open in the editor and can toggle with fundamental settings.
You’ll essentially be working using a drop and drag builder once your pages open in the editor. It is a little more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Think of these components as fitting inside every other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that make your page interactive to its customers and go inside columns.
It might sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a part, however if I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a huge issue and the builder gives you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one. Clickfunnels Masterclass
The procedure for handling integrations can also be simple, though you might have to look at your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate smoothly and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve could be just a couple hours maximum. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it appears to me as if most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The center features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to determine by Googling around or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely won’t be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all prospective users enter with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will get the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does independent ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there could be support also. The same goes for people selling content such as publications or courses.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely in their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area which consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their docs page has a series of classes, each with their own articles. It may be simple, however it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Masterclass
As once you log in for the customer service that is direct, they have a feature within the dashboard, but I am not overly delighted with it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they took three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when attributes haven’t worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client service reps were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, some of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it might be a scenario that is weird, unlikely.
Total Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think the team mostly understand that their solutions are not simple to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Perhaps most users wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a minimum which makes it. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the marketing program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: If you need a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with customization abilities, you might want to look. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other advantages such as strong integrations, the learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be pretty useful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of potential users, enough choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking for an sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. After all, it has not reached its popularity on promises, and that I’m giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
