What’s ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complex advertising technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).

The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email marketing for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Secrets his lovers rave about and that direct people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website Clickfunnels Landing Page Examples

ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.

Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes individuals who don’t understand you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to guide a website visitor into the checkout page.

There is a method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar shop, that’s like people walking in to your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a physical store, you can speak your customers. In a store that is digital, you may be a bit more remote from the visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel works step-by-step, bring visitors in closer and closer till people wind up at a payment page.

You are right if you feel this sounds cool –it has become a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did become wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energyto do exactly what otherwise demands a whole lot of technological proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Cash

One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money. They make it put your content up, very easy to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is pretty simple to pick up everything –it’ll likely take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you require, max.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a feature that is fairly important, and they have pulled it. It’s an builder, As soon as you become accustomed to it.

A/B testing

Built in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is replicate a page, make your changes, and pick the amounts of the traffic you wish to view version A or B.

Great Choice of Integrations

I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to control.

WordPress Plugin

You will also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.

All in one

Overall, it is great to have things so concentrated: I can build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.

All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.

Reasonable Value

You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Landing Page Examples

ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have when they attempted to manage funnels another manner.

Cons: Clickfunnels Review

I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few places that require work.

A drawback is the price. There are two pricing alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a massive drawback, another investment in your business, and like I’ve said, you get a good package for it.

Lackluster Customer Service

Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very helpful.

Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Founder

This is not an objective criticism of their product but I take a slight problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype. They’ve a fantastic advertising for sure. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the software, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.

This means you will find yourself buying online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sports cars. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick cash instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.

So much of the item is tied to his own brand and his philosophy, although Most of us know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.

At times it’s hard to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of the merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you have the ability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is important.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or encounter some errors. Though this really doesn’t occur frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of cash.

In addition, it is difficult to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait until you hear from angry clients. Barring uptime, I deal with some glitches when I replicate webpages using the HTML printing alternative.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etcand it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.

I like consistency in my software if it is a business alternative.

Too Straightforward

Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be more economical upfront and give more control over handling specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t need to commit to an expensive program right away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).

Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say so, and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.

The main differences between an entry level account and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.

However, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that lets you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.

If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.

To summarize the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official list here.

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Landing Page Examples

A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a one.

If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of the traffic you want to see per page, letting you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a function and easy to use.

I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the basic features were pretty good.

There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of companies, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.

Actionetics and Backpack

I’ll only take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Full Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.

But are products that are different, or these attributes? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.

Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 visitors
  • unlimited contacts
  • 3 custom domains
  • A/B split evaluations
  • Mail integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All advanced funnels
  • Revenue funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Unlimited members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Purchase pages
  • Upsell webpages
  • Downsale pages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 billing integration per form

You can watch the complete list of features, along with Full Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not believe you’d find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can’t do without them: for most users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate package.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote special attention. In reality, I think a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it turned into a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.

Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with great layouts, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.

You might also save certain templates and also make own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings that are basic and open in the editor.

You will essentially be working with a drag and drop builder When your pages open from the editor. It is a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these components as fitting within every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that go columns and make your page interactive.

It might sound complicated, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it is a section, but if I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.

You can even edit section, row, column, etc, through the side bar. Parts of your page and all the little details can be altered or moved. The template editor allows for plenty of customization, but provides control that is good . You can do a variety of things–mobile previews, edit colors, text, settings, and just about anything you expect. If you are handy with code, you can also add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally do not think this is a massive problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I like the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money online.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has a few partners you can enhance your integrations easily. Here’s a Complete list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Constant Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they will come up. It, simply click the one you desire and insert it. Clickfunnels Landing Page Examples

The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to check your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely simple method of adding and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.

A list of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Handling each these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate and you don’t have to fret much about them.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of usage –as their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is pretty important.

Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.

Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve could be just a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you’re actually behind.

Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.

All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.

Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely will not be enough to significantly hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all prospective users enter with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who’s ClickFunnels for?

Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will get the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a companies.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those offering B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does products or independent ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you’re a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be great support also. The same goes for individuals selling content like courses or publications.

Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you need to produce your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a much better landing page.

Client Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is nevertheless adequate, although only for SaaS companies. Their page has a collection of categories. It might be easy, but content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Landing Page Examples

As for the customer assistance that is direct, they’ve a feature within the dashboard after you log in, but I am not delighted by it. They have generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t offer that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in instances when features haven’t worked when there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer service representatives were allegedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer support. It may be a unlikely situation, however it illustrates the point.

Overall Support Rating

I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team mostly understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools fresh for their users, and they have put resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Most users would not state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

What’s the verdict that is overarching? It’s good! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing software space and worth trying out.

Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: Should you need a more answer to your marketing needs with customization abilities that are higher, you might want to check. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.

However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone other positives like integrations that are solid, the short learning curve, and templates that are good.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty certain that for the majority of users, enough choice is offered by the page builder. If you’re looking for a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. On empty promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
