What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complicated advertising technologies, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not just from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email marketing for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets his lovers rave about and that guide people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels Knowledge Base
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They soon realized their production would be useful to others and had great potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who do not know you personally and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to guide a web site visitor.
There is a less dull method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without purchasing anything. You can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel functions incremental, bring traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a page.
If you think this sounds cool, you are correct –it has become a massive deal for online advertising. Russell Brunson didn’t just get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energyto do exactly what demands a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making the user money. They make it put up your content quite simple to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty easy to pick up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it is to replicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a feature that is pretty important, and they’ve pulled it off nicely. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder, once you get accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent too. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the numbers of the visitors you wish to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it’s great to have things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Knowledge Base
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they would have if they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of places that require work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a drawback, just another investment in your organization, and like I’ve mentioned, you get a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental queries, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a great advertising for sure. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the applications, you can try to look at the purpose features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This usually means you’ll find yourself purchasing online courses, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and most posts consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.
A lot of the product is tied to his brand and his philosophy, although Most of us know the creator is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some aspects of their product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you have the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many men and women use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this doesn’t occur frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is hard to know when your pages are working or not, unless you always wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. Barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches when I clone pages using the HTML printing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etcand it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency in my software, particularly if it is a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which may be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to a costly program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think that they’re strong and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Knowledge Base
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically enables you to choose what percentages of your visitors that you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s quite easy to use and a function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the basic features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are these attributes, or different products? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains

You can watch the complete list of features, along with Full Package attributes, here. If you’re in a position where you are able to afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not think you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can not do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ most important feature, so I wanted to devote attention. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely with this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather an array of templates with great layouts, however as you may expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, so poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings that are basic and open from the editor.
You’ll basically be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these components as fitting inside each other (this informative article includes a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or up to four. Elements are the dynamic bits that also make your page interactive to its customers and go columns.
It may sound complicated, but it’s rather easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box since it is a part, however if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally do not think this is a massive problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct kinds of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may add to your integrations easily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click the one. Clickfunnels Knowledge Base
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you might need to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of incorporating and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be a lot of shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations run smoothly and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of use is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. If you behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned previously in the critique.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can determine by Googling around or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all potential users input with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those that offer B2B services will most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures that are independent or products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there would be great support also. The same goes for people selling content like courses or publications.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I do not believe you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only in their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller business, okay with the price tag, and you need to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but still sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of categories, each with their own posts. It may be easy, but content-wise it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Knowledge Base
As the customer service, they have a feature within the dashboard once you log into for, but I am not pleased with it. They have generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In cases when features haven’t worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, customer support representatives were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer service, he discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic. It illustrates the point, although it might be a unlikely scenario.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team understand that their services are not easy to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Most consumers would not state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it meets a minimum which makes it. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you may want to look Should you want a more solution to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other positives like the learning curve, solid integrations, and superior templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of prospective users, enough option is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking first and foremost for an sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not reached its popularity on promises, and that’s why I’m giving it 4/5 celebrities.
