ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complex marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not just from ClickFunnels, but advertising adventures. He played with email advertising for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets that his lovers rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Integration Video
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his team produce funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their production would be useful to others and had great potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who don’t know you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps designed to guide a website visitor.
There is a boring way of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar shop, that’s like people walking in to your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. You can speak your customers. In a digital store, you could be a little more remote from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till people end up at a payment page.
If you think this sounds cool, you’re correct –it has turned into a huge deal for advertising. Russell Brunson did not only become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise requires a lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it put your content up, quite easy to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty easy to pick everything up–it will probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to replicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a pretty important feature, and they’ve pulled it off well. It is an simple to use drag and drop builder once you become accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the numbers of your visitors that you want to see version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
Overall, it is good to have things so concentrated: I will build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You can rest assured the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Integration Video
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two options, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your organization a drawback, and like I have mentioned, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental questions, but if you ask them more difficult things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the product but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype. They have a fantastic advertising. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. When you sign up for the software, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you’ll end up buying online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and articles consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more focused on making quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
We know the founder is a marketing but much of the item is tied to his own brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some aspects of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the community. As you have the capability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, many people use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t happen often, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing option barring bandwidth, I also deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etcand it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency within my applications if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which may be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the support , in order you don’t need to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say , and I can see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 a month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the full list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think that they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Integration Video
A/B split testing is definitely, although a more compact feature a one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the divide test basically lets you select what percentages of the traffic that you want to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s easy to use and a function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of businesses, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The chief objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
However, are such attributes, or products that are different? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a little confusing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels

- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages

You may view the full list of features, along with Full Package attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t think you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote special attention to it. In fact, I think a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite a range of templates with great layouts, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can even save certain templates and also create personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with basic settings.
You’ll essentially be working using a drag and drop builder once your pages open from the editor. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these components as fitting inside every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: elements, columns, and rows go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that go columns and make your page interactive to its visitors.
It might sound complex, but it’s rather easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it is a section, however if I was hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I don’t think this is a massive problem and the builder gives you sufficient hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may add to your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations section, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click the one you desire and add it. Clickfunnels Integration Video
The process for managing integrations can also be simple, though you might have to check your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations normally operate smoothly and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve could be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you’re actually behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more products or independent ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you are a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything there would be support too. The same goes for people selling content like courses or books.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price , and you need to make your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who wants to maintain a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although just for SaaS companies. Their page includes a series of classes. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnels Integration Video
As once you log into for the customer assistance, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I am not pleased with it. They’ve generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when features have not worked when there were weird site malfunctions or as promised, client support representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a improbable scenario.
Total Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team understand that their services are not simple to use and/or demand tools fresh for their users, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Maybe users would not state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a minimum that makes it. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is good! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: Should you need a more solution to your marketing needs with customization abilities that are greater, you may want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect together. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone advantages like templates that are superior integrations, and the brief learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty sure that for the majority of users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you are looking to get a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that is why I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
