What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complex advertising technologies, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, not only from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email advertising for a while, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two books and the author of DotCom Secrets his fans rave that direct and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels Iceberg
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as creating funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their production would be useful to others and had good potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes individuals who don’t understand you personally and turns them into clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to direct a website visitor.
There is a dull method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical shop, that is like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. You can speak your clients. In a store that is digital, you could be a bit more distant from the customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer until people wind up in a page.
You’re correct if you feel that sounds cool –it has become a massive deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did not just get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energyto do exactly what otherwise requires a lot of competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money for the consumer. They make it put up your content simple to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s rather simple to select up everything –it will probably take you a few hours to figure out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they’ve pulled it. Once you get accustomed to it, it’s an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and pick the numbers of your traffic you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it’s good to have things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All this really will save time and money, resources you’d otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Iceberg
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have if they tried to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few places that require work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two alternatives, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your business, a huge drawback, and like I have mentioned, you get a good package for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental queries, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of their merchandise but I take a small problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is hard to escape the hype. They have a marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you can try to look at the objective features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you will end up buying online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and articles is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they’re more focused on making quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
A lot of the item is tied into his brand and his philosophy, although we all know the creator is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some aspects of the product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you have the capability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some errors. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML publishing option barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency in my applications, particularly if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which may be more economical upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, in order you don’t need to commit to an expensive program right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level account and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the complete official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think that they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Iceberg
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a noteworthy one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the backup, the split test basically enables you to choose what percentages of your visitors that you want to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s easy to use and a great function.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The chief goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more effective.
But are separate products, or such features? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Full Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you can manage to try Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote exclusive attention to it. In fact, I think a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings that are basic and open from the editor.
When your pages open in the editor, you’ll essentially be working with a drop and drag builder. It’s a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor uses a page structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these components as fitting inside every other (this article has a helpful diagram). Basically: elements, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that also make your page interactive to its visitors and go within columns.
It may sound complex, but it is pretty simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it is a section, however when I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click the one. Clickfunnels Iceberg
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might have to check your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run smoothly and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its ease of usage –because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those offering B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures that are independent or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be good support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as classes or books.
Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area which is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but still sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of categories. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnels Iceberg
As for the customer service that is direct, they have a feature within the dashboard after you log in, but I’m not overly pleased with it. They have been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. In instances when features have not worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client support representatives were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It might be a situation, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team largely understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least basic questions will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Maybe most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the overarching verdict? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you might want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect, If you need a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with greater customization abilities. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as strong integrations the short learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for less entrepreneurs. I’m pretty certain that for the huge majority of users, option is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking first and foremost to get a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t reached its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
