ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complicated marketing technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Secrets that his lovers rave that direct and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Help
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their production would be useful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to direct a web site visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or website visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical shop, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. At a physical store, you can speak your clients into buying something. In a digital shop, you could be a bit more remote from the visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ . The funnel works step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer till people end up at a page.
If you feel this sounds cool, you are correct –it’s become a massive bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson didn’t just become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energy–to do what otherwise demands a lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money. They make it quite simple to produce your accounts, put your content up, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty easy to pick everything up–it will likely take you a couple hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it is to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a pretty important feature, and they have pulled it off nicely. It is an simple to use drag and drop builder As soon as you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the numbers of your traffic that you wish to view variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
In general, it is great to get things so centralized: I will construct my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You may rest assured the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Help
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have when they tried to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of places that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are only two alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your organization a huge drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with basic queries, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a great advertising for sure. But from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This means you’ll end up buying online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and many articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line classes, saturation of trainers and specialists, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
So much of the product is tied into his doctrine and his own brand, although we all know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more about the community. While you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some errors. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a few hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, unless you always wait or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML printing alternative barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency within my software, particularly if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the support , so at least you don’t need to commit to a costly program straight away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and that I can see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 a month. However, it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which allows you describe a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and custom domains; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe that they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Help
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the split test essentially lets you select what percentages of your traffic you want to view per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It’s simple to use and a function.
I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of businesses, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The chief goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are such attributes, or products? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a little perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, along with complete Suite attributes, here. If you are in a position where you are able to afford to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will offer a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wanted to devote attention. In fact, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it turned into a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. You can toggle with basic settings and open in the editor as you can see.
You will basically be working using a drop and drag builder once your pages start from the editor. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these components as fitting inside each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: elements, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the lively bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go within columns.
It may sound complex, but it is rather simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it is a part, however when I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but do not have ) on the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within those rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a huge problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you can add to your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Help
The process for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the procedure simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually operate smoothly and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its simplicity of use–as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I would say the learning curve could be only a few hours maximum. If you behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned in the critique.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I would suggest all prospective users input with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience here) will get the most use from it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does ventures that are individual or creative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there could be support also. The same goes for people selling content like courses or publications.
Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you should determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is adequate, although just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a collection of classes, each with their own articles. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnels Help
As once you log into for the direct customer assistance, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not too pleased by it. They have generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In instances when features haven’t worked if there were weird site malfunctions or as promised, client service representatives were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer support, he found they were apathetic and unhelpful. It might be a weird, unlikely scenario, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel that the team understand that their services are not simple to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it decent. At least queries will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Most consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: If you need a more hands-on answer to your marketing needs with customization skills that are greater, you may want to check. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as templates that are good , strong integrations, and the short learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be pretty useful for entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I am pretty sure that for the huge majority of potential users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you are looking for a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. In the end, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that’s why I am giving it 4/5 stars.
