What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email advertising for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two books his lovers rave about and that direct people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Gym
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take months. However, they soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people and had good potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to direct a web site visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into customers. In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. At a physical store, you can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your customers’ . The funnel works step-by-step, draw visitors in closer and closer till people end up in a payment page.
You’re right, if you feel this sounds cool –it has become a huge deal for online marketing. Russell Brunson did become rich by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energy–to do exactly what demands a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money. They make it easy to produce your account, put your content up, and begin taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty simple to select everything up–it’ll likely take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute that is fairly important, and they’ve pulled it. As soon as you get used to it, it is an easy to use drag and drop builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and pick the amounts of the visitors that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
Overall, it is great to get things so centralized: I will construct my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You may be sure the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Gym
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they would have if they tried to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few areas that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two options, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your business, a drawback, and like I’ve said, you receive a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but I take a slight issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype. They have a fantastic marketing for sure. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the software, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you will find yourself purchasing online courses, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most articles consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
So much of this product is tied to his philosophy and his brand, although we know the founder is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard to not get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of the merchandise (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the capability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use designs. Taking into consideration the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some errors or will go down. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, unless you always check or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML publishing alternative, barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I like consistency within my applications if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be more economical upfront and give more control over managing certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to an expensive plan right away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say , and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 a month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the full official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe that they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Gym
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a smaller feature a notable one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the copy, the split test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the traffic you want to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a fantastic function and quite simple to use.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the fundamental features were pretty great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several kinds of businesses, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more effective.
But are these attributes, or products? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a bit perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the complete list of features, along with Full Suite features, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to manage to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ main feature, so I wanted to devote special attention to it. In reality, I think a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather a range of templates with great designs, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and also create personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. You can toggle with settings and open from the editor as you can see.
Once your pages start in the editor, you be working using a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these components as fitting inside each other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors segments, but columns especially go into rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or up to four. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go inside columns.
It may sound complicated, but it is rather simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a part, however if I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally do not think this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Gym
The process for managing integrations can also be straightforward, though you may need to check your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of usage –as their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say that the learning curve could be just a few hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you are actually behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is things you’ll be able to determine by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely will not be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the most use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with those offering more ventures or creative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be support too. The same holds for people selling content like publications or courses.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is nevertheless sufficient, although only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a collection of classes. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels Gym
As for the immediate customer assistance, they’ve a feature inside the dashboard after you log into, but I am not pleased by it. They’ve generally been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. Notably, in instances when attributes haven’t worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, customer support representatives were allegedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. After he contacted customer service, he found they were unhelpful. It might be a situation, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their solutions are not absolutely easy to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It’s good! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you may want to check, If you want a more solution to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or any glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone advantages such as integrations that are solid, the learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for significantly less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I am pretty certain that for the majority of users, the webpage builder provides option. If you’re looking first and foremost for an easy but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. On promises, it hasn’t reached its popularity after all, and that I’m giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
