ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but marketing adventures. He played with email marketing for a while, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Secrets his lovers rave that direct and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Freelancer
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. But they had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be useful to others.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who don’t know you and turns them into customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to guide a website visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors . In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. In a physical store, you can talk your clients. In a digital store, you may be a bit more remote from the visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until visitors wind up at a payment page.
You’re right if you think this sounds cool –it has become a huge deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energy–to do what otherwise requires a whole lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it put your content up, quite easy to make your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it is pretty simple to pick everything up–it’ll likely take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important feature, and they’ve pulled it. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder As soon as you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the amounts of the visitors that you wish to view variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations pretty nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
In general, it’s great to have things so centralized: I will construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can be sure the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Freelancer
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have if they tried to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few places that require work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are just two pricing options, at $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I’ve mentioned another investment in your organization, and a drawback, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with basic queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they will not be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but I take a slight problem with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They’ve a advertising. But from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to look at the objective features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This usually means you will find yourself purchasing online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and many posts consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
Much of the product is tied to his brand and his philosophy, although we all know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when a few elements of the product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the community. While you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar designs. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this doesn’t occur frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of money.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option, barring bandwidth, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency within my software if it is a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try the service, so at least you do not have to commit to an expensive plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and custom domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Freelancer
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the divide test basically enables you to choose what percentages of the visitors you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s quite simple to use and a function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into different types of businesses, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are products that are separate, or such attributes? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I’m just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may view the complete list of features, together with Full Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with good layouts, though as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might also save certain templates and also create personal page templates, and it is rather easy to see them. You can toggle with fundamental settings and open in the editor as you can see.
Once your pages start in the editor, you be working using a drop and drag builder. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these parts as fitting within every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go inside columns and also make your page interactive.
It may sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it’s a section, but if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within those rows and columns. I personally do not think this is a huge problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you can add to your integrations easily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one. Clickfunnels Freelancer
The process for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the procedure simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of adding and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be a lot of shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations normally run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of use–as their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say that the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will require a little bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it probably will not be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all potential users input with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and those offering B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with people offering more independent ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you are a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there could be support also. The same holds for people selling content like classes or books.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price , and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is only for SaaS companies, but sufficient. Their docs page has a collection of classes, each with their own posts. It might be easy, but content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Freelancer
As for the customer service that is immediate, they have a feature inside the dashboard once you log in, but I am not delighted with it. They have been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when features have not worked as promised or if there were weird site malfunctions, customer service representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. After he contacted customer service, he found that they were apathetic and unhelpful. It may be a scenario that is weird, unlikely, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their solutions are not absolutely easy to use and/or demand tools new to their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Maybe consumers would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a minimum which makes it. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you may want to check into third party options you can connect together, Should you want a more answer to your advertising needs with higher customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as good templates, integrations that are strong, and the brief learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are less. I am pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, enough choice is offered by the page builder. If you are looking first and foremost to get an sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not attained its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
