What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complex marketing technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played with email marketing for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets his lovers rave about and that guide people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Free Trial
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. However, they soon realized their production would be helpful to others and had great potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them into customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps designed to direct a web site visitor.
There is a less dull method of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors . In a physical store, that’s like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without purchasing anything. In a store, you can talk your customers. In a digital shop, you could be a bit more remote from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel works incremental, bring traffic in closer and closer till visitors end up at a payment page.
You’re right, if you think that sounds cool –it has become a huge deal for advertising. Russell Brunson did become wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energyto do what otherwise demands a lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning your user money. They make it easy to make your account, put up your content, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty simple to select up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it. Once you become accustomed to it, it is an easy to use drag and drop builder.
Built in A/B testing is excellent. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and pick the numbers of the visitors you wish to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
Overall, it’s good to get things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full package might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Free Trial
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have when they tried to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has a number of areas that need work.
A small drawback is the price. There are two pricing options, at either $97 per month or $297 a month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I have mentioned another investment in your business, and a drawback, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic questions, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more innovative features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a great marketing. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you will end up buying online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and articles consists of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing wizard, but much of this product is tied to his brand and his philosophy. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use designs. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option, barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my applications, particularly if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you don’t have to commit to a costly program straight away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can watch the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Free Trial
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a notable one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the backup, the split test essentially enables you to select what percentages of your traffic you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It is a function and simple to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for different settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the basic features were fairly good.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of businesses, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are these features, or products that are different? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to sell a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You may view the full list of features, together with Full Package attributes, here. If you’re in a position where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t think you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wished to devote special attention to it. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with great layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is pretty easy to find them. You can toggle with settings and open from the editor as you can see.
You be working using a drag and drop builder once your pages start from the editor. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a page structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Think of these components as fitting inside every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the lively bits that go inside columns and also make your page interactive.
It might sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it is a part, however if I was hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) on the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within these columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a huge issue and the builder provides you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one you desire and insert it. Clickfunnels Free Trial
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you may need to check your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part separate from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up using whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run smoothly and you don’t have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of usage –as their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I would say the learning curve would be only a few hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely will not be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It unites alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d indicate all potential users input with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with people offering more innovative products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you are a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be good support too. The same goes for people selling content such as courses or books.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, okay with the price , and you need to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is still adequate, although just for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a series of categories, each with their own articles. It may be easy, however it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Free Trial
As after you log in for the customer assistance that is direct, they have a feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not pleased with it. They have generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer service reps were allegedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it may be a situation that is bizarre, unlikely.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools new for their customers, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least basic questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Maybe most users, myself included, would not say ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it largely meets a bare minimum that makes it. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict? It’s good! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you might want to check into third party choices you can connect together, Should you need a more answer to your marketing needs with customization abilities. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service agents, or any glitches in the software. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone positives such as templates that are superior, integrations that are solid, and the short learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are significantly less. I am pretty certain that for the vast majority of users, choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking to get an easy but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not reached its popularity In the end, and that’s why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
