What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex advertising technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but marketing adventures. He played with email marketing for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the author of DotCom Secrets that his fans rave that guide and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Free Book
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. They had great potential as a product and soon realized their creation would be useful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes individuals who don’t understand you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to guide a web site visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or site visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors . In a physical store, that is like people walking in to your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. You can talk your clients into buying something. In a digital shop, you may be a little more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your customers’ . The funnel works incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer until people wind up at a payment page.
You are right if you think this sounds cool –it’s turned into a huge bargain for online marketing. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energyto do exactly what requires a lot of technological proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning the user money. They make it put your content up easy to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty easy to select everything up–it will probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a fairly important feature, and they’ve pulled it. As soon as you get accustomed to it, it is an builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the numbers of your traffic that you want to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
In general, it’s great to have things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Free Book
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have when they tried to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of areas that require work.
A little drawback is the price. There are two pricing options, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t just another investment in your business, a drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic queries, but if you inquire harder things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but I take a slight problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a advertising. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This usually means you’ll end up buying online classes, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and most articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more focused on making quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy internet marketer stuff.
So much of the product is tied into his doctrine and his own brand, although we know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to customize within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use similar designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some errors. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a few hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option, barring bandwidth, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options change, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency in my software, especially if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which can be more economical upfront and yield more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try out the service, in order you do not have to commit to an expensive program straight away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and that I could see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 a month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to view the full official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe they’re strong and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Free Book
A/B split testing is definitely, although a more compact feature a notable one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the copy, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your visitors you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It is quite easy to use and a function.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of companies, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The chief goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are these features, or products that are separate? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may view the complete list of features, together with Full Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you can afford to try out Etison for a bit and you absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, just StartUp will offer a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with good layouts, though as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with basic settings and open in the editor.
When your pages start from the editor, you’ll essentially be working with a drop and drag builder. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four main components: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these components as fitting within every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move inside sections, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that go columns and also make your page interactive to its visitors.
It might sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it’s a section, but if I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within those columns and rows. Personally, I do not believe this is a massive problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can add to your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click on the one you want and add it. Clickfunnels Free Book
The procedure for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple way of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of usage –as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve would be only a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson, if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all potential users input with a few basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will get the most use out of it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those offering B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures that are individual or creative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you’re a florist, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything there could be support also. The same goes for people selling content such as classes or books.
Of course, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller business, okay with the price , and you have to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their page includes a series of classes, each with their own posts. It may be simple, but it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Free Book
As after you log in for the direct customer assistance, they have a feature inside the dashboard, but I am not overly pleased by it. They’ve generally been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In cases when features haven’t worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client service representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer service. It might be a scenario that is weird, unlikely, however it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team mostly understand that their solutions are not absolutely easy to use and/or demand tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Maybe users, myself included, wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a minimum that makes it at least great. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the verdict? It is fine! It is a legitimate competitor in the advertising software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you might want to check into third party choices you can connect together, Should you need a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone additional advantages like templates, integrations that are solid, and the brief learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be pretty useful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I’m pretty certain that for the huge majority of users, enough option is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking to get an sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t reached its popularity on promises, and that’s why I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
