What is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complicated advertising technologies, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).

The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his creation, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the author of DotCom Secrets that his fans rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website Clickfunnels Evergreen Webinar

ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their production would be useful to other people.

Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes people who do not understand you and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures developed to direct a website visitor.

There’s a dull way of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors . In a brick and mortar store, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. At a store, you can talk your customers. In a digital shop, you may be a little more remote from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ . The funnel works step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a page.

You are correct if you feel this sounds cool –it’s turned into a huge bargain for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energy–to do exactly what demands a whole lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Cash

Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning your user money. They make it put your content up, simple to make your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it is pretty easy to pick up everything –it’ll likely take you a couple hours to find out a lot of what you need, maximum.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important feature, and they’ve pulled it. It is an builder, once you become accustomed to it.

A/B testing

Built in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of your visitors that you wish to see version A or B.

Great selection of Integrations

I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.

WordPress Plugin

You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.

All in one

Overall, it’s great to have things so concentrated: I will construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.

All of this really does save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.

Reasonable Value

You may rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Evergreen Webinar

ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they would have when they attempted to handle funnels another way.

Cons: Clickfunnels Review

I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few places that need work.

A little drawback is the cost. There are only two pricing options, at $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your organization, a massive drawback, and like I’ve mentioned, you receive a good package for this.

Lackluster Client Service

Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental questions, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite helpful.

Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder

This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but I take a small issue with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They have a great marketing for sure. However, from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the software, you can try to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.

This means you’ll find yourself purchasing online classes, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and most posts consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.

A lot of the product is tied to his doctrine and his own brand, although we know the founder is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an extension of Brunson’s platform.

Sometimes it’s hard not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of their product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the community. As you’ve got the capability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.

In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option, barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.

I like consistency in my software, particularly if it’s a business alternative.

Too Simple

Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over handling specific details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the support , so at least you do not need to commit to a costly program right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).

Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say so, and I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a fantastic investment.

The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.

However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split evaluations, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.

If you are confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.

To summarize the differences, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official record .

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think that they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Evergreen Webinar

A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a noteworthy one.

If you duplicate a page and make changes to the backup, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your visitors you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is a function and simple to use.

In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were pretty good.

There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.

Actionetics and Backpack

I’ll just take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.

However, are such attributes, or different products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder to me, but perhaps I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.

Here is the full list of all StartUp attributes
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 traffic
  • unlimited contacts
  • 3 habit domains
  • A/B split tests
  • Email integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All innovative funnels
  • Revenue funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Unlimited members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Order webpages
  • Upsell webpages
  • Downsale webpages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 charging integration per type

You can view the complete list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you’re in a position where you can afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can’t do without themfor most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is probably ClickFunnels’ main feature, so I wished to devote special attention. In reality, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this landing page builder.

Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with great layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.

You can also save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings that are fundamental and open in the editor.

When your pages start in the editor, you be working with a drop and drag builder. It’s a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: components, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns especially go into rows. This way you may have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive and go inside columns.

It may sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it is a section, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.

You could also edit by section, row, column, etc, through the side bar. All the details and parts of your webpage can be altered or moved. The template editor allows for lots of customization, but offers good control . You can do a variety of things–cellular previews, edit colors, text, settings, and nearly anything you anticipate. If you’re handy with code, then you can even add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A little criticism I have heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I do not believe this is a huge problem and the builder gives you enough control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a full list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Continuous Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Evergreen Webinar

The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to check your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the process simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely simple method of adding and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.

A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Managing each of these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations operate smoothly and you don’t need to fret much about them.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of use is pretty important.

Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.

Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the review of Russell Brunson if you behind.

Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.

All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can determine by Googling about or visiting the docs center.

Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably will not be sufficient to hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I’d indicate all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who’s ClickFunnels for?

Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses over others.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those offering B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does innovative products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be good support also. The same goes for individuals selling content like courses or books.

Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price , and you need to make your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a much better landing page.

Client Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although just for SaaS companies. Their page has a series of classes. It may be simple, however it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Evergreen Webinar

As after you log into for the customer assistance that is direct, they’ve a chat feature within the dashboard, but I am not delighted with it. They have been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

Furthermore, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client service representatives were supposedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer service. It might be a situation that is unlikely, however it illustrates the point.

Total Support Rating

I would not state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or demand tools fresh to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps most consumers wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it at least great enough. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing program area and worth trying out.

Yeah, a few drawbacks are: If you want a more solution to your marketing needs with customization skills, you may want to check into third party options you can connect together. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.

But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other advantages such as the short learning curveintegrations, and superior templates.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are less. I’m pretty certain that for the vast majority of prospective users, enough option is offered by the page builder. If you are looking to get an sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not attained its popularity In the end, and that is why I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
