What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for some time, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his lovers rave about and that guide people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Eagle
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team produce funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They soon realized their production would be helpful to others and had great potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who do not know you and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to direct a website visitor.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a physical store, that is like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can speak your clients. In a shop, you may be a little more remote from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a payment page.
You are right if you feel this sounds cool –it’s become a massive deal for online advertising. Russell Brunson did become wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise requires a whole lot of proficiency and/or a range of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning the consumer money. They make it put your content up, simple to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is rather simple to pick up everything –it will probably take you a few hours to figure out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how simple it is to replicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a feature, and they have pulled it. It’s an builder, once you become used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and choose the amounts of your visitors you wish to see version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it’s good to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may rest assured that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Eagle
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have when they tried to handle funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has a number of places that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are just two pricing alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a massive drawback another investment in your organization, and like I’ve said, you get a package for it.
Lackluster Client Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic questions, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they will not be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their merchandise but I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a fantastic marketing. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This means you’ll end up buying online classes, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most articles is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
So much of the product is tied to his own brand and his philosophy, although we know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few elements of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. While you have the capability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many men and women use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some mistakes. Though this doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option, barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency within my software if it’s a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to a costly program right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some might say , and that I could see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 per month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and custom domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think that they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Eagle
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the split test basically lets you select what percentages of the traffic you need to see per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is a great function and very simple to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are such features, or products? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You may watch the complete list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to manage to try Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t think you’d find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive advantage that you can’t do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite a range of templates with good layouts, however as you may expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it is pretty simple to see them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with settings.
Once your pages open in the editor, you be working using a drag and drop builder. It is a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these components as fitting inside every other (this informative article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or around four. Elements are the lively bits that go inside columns and make your page interactive to its visitors.
It might sound complex, but it is rather simple to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it is a section, however if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within these columns and rows. I personally don’t believe this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different kinds of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can add to your integrations easily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations section, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Eagle
The process for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the process pretty simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations operate and you do not need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its simplicity of use–as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. If you’re actually behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned in the review.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it’s stuff you can determine by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it probably will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users enter with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will get the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with those offering more ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you are a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good way of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything there could be support too. The same holds for people selling content such as books or classes.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area which is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is still sufficient, although only for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a collection of classes. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnels Eagle
As after you log in for the customer assistance that is direct, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not too delighted by it. They’ve been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In instances when attributes haven’t worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer service reps were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. When he contacted customer service, he discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic. It illustrates the point, although it may be a improbable scenario.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team largely understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools fresh to their customers, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Most users would not state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the verdict? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: If you want a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with customization abilities, you may want to look into third party options you can tie. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone advantages like templates that are superior, integrations that are strong, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be quite helpful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are less. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of users, enough choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking first and foremost to get an sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it hasn’t attained its popularity after all, and that is why I am giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
