What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complicated marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played around with email marketing for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his lovers rave about and that guide people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels Dylan Jones
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be useful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who don’t know you personally and turns them into customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures developed to direct a website visitor.
There is a less boring way of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical store, that is like people walking in to your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. You can speak your customers into buying something. In a shop that is digital, you could be a little more remote from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ . The funnel works incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer until people end up in a page.
You’re right if you think this sounds cool –it’s turned into a huge deal for internet advertising. Russell Brunson didn’t only get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energy–to do what requires a lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money. They make it put your content up, easy to produce your account, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather simple to pick up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a feature that is pretty important, and they have pulled it. Once you become used to it, it’s an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and choose the numbers of your traffic that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations pretty nicely. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it is great to get things so concentrated: I will build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You may rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Dylan Jones
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they would have if they attempted to handle funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback another investment in your business, and like I have mentioned, you receive a package for it.
Lackluster Client Service
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic questions, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a marketing for certain. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to look at the objective features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This usually means you will find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick cash instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
Most of us know the creator is a marketing but much of the product is tied into his brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the capability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also hard to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t always check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I replicate pages using the HTML publishing option barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etcand it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency within my applications if it is a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too easy, and too expensive because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive program straight away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and that I could see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature that allows you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Package, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the full official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think that they’re strong and you get everything you want. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Clickfunnels Dylan Jones
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a notable one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test basically lets you choose what percentages of your visitors you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is quite easy to use and a function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I thought the fundamental features were pretty good.
There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Total Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate system easier and more efficient.
However, are such features, or products? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a little confusing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the complete list of features, along with Full Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you can manage to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can not do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention to it. In fact, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with good designs, however as you can expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might even save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with fundamental settings and open in the editor.
You be working with a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within each other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: elements, columns, and rows go inside of sections. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns go indoors sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or up to four. Elements are the bits that go within columns and make your page interactive.
It may sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it is a section, but if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a massive problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one. Clickfunnels Dylan Jones
The procedure for handling integrations can also be simple, though you might have to check your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll discover the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be a lot of store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is fairly easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its ease of usage –as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours maximum. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it is things you can determine by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience ) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those offering B2B services will most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with those offering more products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be good support also. The same goes for people selling content like books or classes.
Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only in their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you need to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their page has a collection of categories. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnels Dylan Jones
As for the customer assistance, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard once you log in, but I am not pleased by it. They have been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t offer that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when attributes have not worked when there were weird site malfunctions or as promised, customer service reps were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer service. It may be a scenario that is improbable, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their services are not easy to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Maybe most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a minimum that makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It is fine! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: Should you need a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with customization skills, you might want to check. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional positives such as solid integrations, the brief learning curve, and good templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite useful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty sure that for the majority of prospective users, the page builder provides enough choice. If you are looking to get a simple but powerful sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t reached its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
