ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex marketing technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but advertising experiences. He played around with email marketing for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his fans rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. But they had good potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not know you and turns them to clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There is a dull way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. In a physical store, you can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you could be a little more distant from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, draw traffic in closer and closer till people wind up at a payment page.
You are correct, if you feel this sounds cool –it has become a massive deal for advertising. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energy–to do what demands a lot of proficiency and/or a range of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money. They make it put your content up, very easy to make your account, and start taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty simple to pick up everything –it’ll likely take you a few hours to figure out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a fairly important attribute, and they have pulled it off nicely. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder As soon as you become accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of the visitors you wish to view version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it is great to get things so concentrated: I will construct my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Drop Down Navigation
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have if they tried to handle funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A small drawback is the price. There are just two pricing options, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback, just another investment in your organization, and like I have said, you get a fantastic package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental questions, but if you inquire harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of the product but I take a slight problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They have a fantastic marketing for sure. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the software, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This means you’ll find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and posts consists of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line classes, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
A lot of the product is tied into his own brand and his philosophy, although we know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the capability to customize within ClickFunnels, many men and women use layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry customers. Barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches when I replicate pages using the HTML publishing alternative.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency within my software if it is a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some would say , and that I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 per month. But it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you describe a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think that they’re solid and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Clickfunnels Drop Down Navigation
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the traffic you need to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very handily. It’s a great function and quite simple to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate system easier and more efficient.
But are these features, or products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages

You may view the full list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you’d find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote special attention. In fact, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with good designs, though as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings that are basic and open in the editor.
When you open your pages in the editor, you’ll basically be working using a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these components as fitting within every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the lively bits that go columns and make your page interactive.
It might sound complex, but it is pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a part, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within these columns and rows. Personally, I do not think this is a huge problem and the builder provides you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can add to your integrations easily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations section, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one you desire and insert it. Clickfunnels Drop Down Navigation
The process for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you might need to look at your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the process simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is pretty simple –as long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of usage –because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I would say that the learning curve could be just a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the review of Russell Brunson if you are actually behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it appears to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can determine by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and even those that offer B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with people offering more ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there could be good support too. The same holds for people selling content such as courses or publications.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you have to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I think their documentation is adequate, although only for SaaS companies. Their docs page includes a series of categories. It might be simple, however content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Drop Down Navigation
As after you log into for the customer service that is direct, they’ve a feature within the dashboard, but I’m not too pleased with it. They have generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. Notably, in cases when attributes have not worked as promised or if there were bizarre site malfunctions, client support reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it might be a scenario that is bizarre, unlikely.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools new for their customers, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least queries will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Maybe most consumers, myself included, would not state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict? It is fine! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: If you want a more answer to your advertising needs with customization skills, you may want to check into third party choices you can tie together. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone positives such as solid integrations, the brief learning curve, and templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty sure that for the majority of users, the page builder provides enough option. If you’re looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On empty promises, it hasn’t attained its popularity after all, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
