What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but marketing experiences. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two books and the author of DotCom Secrets his lovers rave that guide and about people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Contact
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. But they soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who don’t understand you and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to direct a web site visitor.
There’s a less boring way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical shop, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. At a physical store, you can speak your clients. In a shop that is digital, you could be a bit more remote from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel functions incremental, bring traffic in closer and closer until visitors wind up at a page.
You are right if you think this sounds cool –it’s become a massive deal for online marketing. Russell Brunson did get rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise demands a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money. They make it put your content up quite simple to produce your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty simple to pick everything up–it’ll probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a feature, and they have pulled it. Once you become accustomed to it, it’s an easy to use drag and drop builder.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and pick the amounts of your traffic that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a useful WordPress plugin which allows you add ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
In general, it’s great to have things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Contact
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two options, at $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not another investment in your organization a drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental questions, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a slight problem with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a fantastic advertising. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of this software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This usually means you will find yourself purchasing online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most posts is composed of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more focused on earning quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
Much of the product is tied to his own brand and his doctrine, although we know the founder is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the community. As you have the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many people use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option, barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etcand it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency in my applications, especially if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be more economical upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test out the support , in order you do not need to commit to an expensive plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. But it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I personally consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality that allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the subsequent section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think that they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Clickfunnels Contact
A/B split testing is a smaller feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially lets you choose what percentages of the traffic that you want to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s a function and easy to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several kinds of companies, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my opinion, Total Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
But are different products, or such attributes? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Full Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members

You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, easy method of increasing earnings, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote attention. In reality, I think a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with great layouts, though as you can expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. It is possible to toggle with settings and open in the editor as you can see.
You will basically be working using a drop and drag builder once your pages start from the editor. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that go columns and make your page interactive to its customers.
It might sound complex, but it is rather easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a section, however when I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within those rows and columns. I personally do not believe this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one. Clickfunnels Contact
The process for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you might need to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be a lot of store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of usage –as their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve could be just a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me like most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I would indicate all potential users input with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the most use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those that offer B2B services would most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does creative products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good way of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything there would be support also. The same holds for people selling content such as publications or courses.
Of course, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price , and you have to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I think their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but sufficient. Their docs page has a collection of categories, each with their own articles. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels Contact
As the immediate customer assistance, they’ve a feature inside the dashboard once you log in for, but I’m not delighted by it. They’ve been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they required to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in instances when features have not worked as promised or when there were bizarre site malfunctions, client service reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer support, he discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic. It may be a situation that is weird, improbable, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team understand that their services are not perfectly simple to use and/or involve tools new for their customers, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it decent. At least queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps consumers would not say ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is fine! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: you may want to look into third party options you’ll be able to tie together Should you need a more solution to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other advantages like strong integrations, the short learning curve, and templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be pretty useful for less entrepreneurs. I am pretty sure that for the vast majority of prospective users, enough choice is offered by the page builder. If you are looking for a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. After all, it hasn’t reached its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
