ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just three years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email advertising for a while, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two novels and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his fans rave about and that direct people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnels Clickstart
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff create funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their production would be useful to others and had great potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures developed to direct a website visitor.
There is a dull method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call internet traffic or website visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. You can speak your customers. In a store, you may be a little more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer until people end up at a payment page.
If you think that sounds cool, you’re correct –it’s become a huge bargain for internet advertising. Russell Brunson didn’t only become wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energyto do exactly what demands a whole lot of competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money for your consumer. They make it put your content up easy to produce your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather simple to pick everything up–it’ll probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to replicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important attribute, and they have pulled it. It’s an builder, As soon as you get used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of the visitors you want to view version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it’s good to get things so concentrated: I will build my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Clickstart
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they would have when they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two options, at $97 per month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your organization, a drawback, and like I’ve said, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental questions, but if you inquire harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but that I take a slight issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype. They’ve a marketing. But from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you’ll find yourself purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing wizard, but so much of the product is tied to his own brand and his philosophy. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some aspects of the product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some errors. Though this really doesn’t occur frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait till you hear from angry customers. Barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches when I replicate webpages using the HTML printing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options change, etcand it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency within my software, especially if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it is too simple, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be more economical upfront and give more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try out the support , in order you do not have to commit to an expensive plan right away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say , and that I can see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the principal service, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think they’re strong and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Clickstart
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the split test basically enables you to choose what percentages of your traffic you need to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a great function and quite simple to use.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the basic features were pretty good.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of companies, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The chief objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.
But are products that are separate, or these attributes? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You can view the complete list of features, along with Full Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I do not think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge advantage that you can not do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will offer a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote special attention to it. In fact, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite an array of templates with great designs, however as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it is rather easy to find them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with fundamental settings.
Once your pages open from the editor, you’ll basically be working using a drag and drop builder. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive and go columns.
It may sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box since it’s a part, but when I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you have to work within those rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can add to your integrations easily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Clickstart
The procedure for managing integrations is also simple, though you may have to check your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the process simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of adding and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually operate and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of usage –because their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say that the learning curve could be just a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson, if you are really behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all prospective users input with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those offering B2B services will most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more ventures that are individual or products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for example, if you’re a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be great support also. The same goes for people selling content such as classes or books.
Obviously, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price , and you need to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is adequate, although barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their page has a collection of categories, each with their own posts. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels Clickstart
As once you log into for the customer service that is direct, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not delighted with it. They have been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they required to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked as promised or when there were weird site malfunctions, client support reps were supposedly either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a situation that is unlikely.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team mostly understand that their services are not simple to use and/or demand tools new for their customers, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Most consumers, myself included, wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum that makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict that is overarching? It is good! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you might want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect together Should you need a more solution to your marketing needs with greater customization abilities. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional positives like templates that are good integrations, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite helpful for significantly less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I am pretty certain that for the vast majority of potential users, option is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. In the end, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that’s why I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
