What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complex advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email advertising for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets his lovers rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels Blog
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would usually take months. They had good potential as a product and soon realized their production would be helpful to others.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes individuals who do not know you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to guide a web site visitor.
There is a less dull method of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors doesn’t turn into clients. In a brick and mortar store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. You can speak your customers. In a shop, you could be a bit more distant from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer till people end up at a page.
If you think this sounds cool, you are correct –it has turned into a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did get rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energy–to do what otherwise requires a lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money for your user. They make it put your content up, very easy to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is pretty easy to select everything up–it’ll probably take you a couple hours to find out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a fairly important feature, and they have pulled it off well. Once you get accustomed to it, it is an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is replicate a page, make your changes, and pick the numbers of the visitors that you want to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a useful WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress website. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is good to have things so concentrated: I can build my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Blog
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have when they tried to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two pricing options, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not like I’ve mentioned , another investment in your business, and a drawback, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a great marketing for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you’ll find yourself buying online courses, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they’re more focused on making quick cash instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
Most of us know the creator is a marketing but so much of the item is tied into his brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the community. While you have the ability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, many people use layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will go down. Though this doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option, barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t need to commit to a costly program right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say so, and I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you describe a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to view the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe that they’re solid and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate segments. Clickfunnels Blog
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a notable one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of the visitors you need to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is quite simple to use and a fantastic function.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different types of companies, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my opinion, Total Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are these features, or separate products? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Full Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You can watch the complete list of features, along with Full Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you can manage to try out Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing earnings, I do not think you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote special attention to it. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s rather a range of templates with good designs, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can even save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to find them. You can toggle with settings and open from the editor as you can see.
You’ll basically be working with a drag and drop builder once your pages start from the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these components as fitting inside every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that go within columns and make your page interactive to its customers.
It might sound complicated, but it is rather simple to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it’s a section, however if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally don’t believe this is a massive problem and the builder gives you enough hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click the one you want and add it. Clickfunnels Blog
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you may need to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the process straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run and you do not need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the review of Russell Brunson, if you’re actually behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a little bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably won’t be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I would indicate all potential users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience ) will find the most use from it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those offering B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for example, if you are a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be support also. The same holds for people selling content such as books or courses.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of classes, each with their own posts. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels Blog
As after you log into for the customer service that is immediate, they have a feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not delighted by it. They’ve been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in instances when features have not worked as promised or when there were weird site malfunctions, client support representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer service, he discovered that they were unhelpful. It might be a unlikely scenario, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team understand that their services are not simple to use and/or demand tools new for their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it adequate. At least queries will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Perhaps most users, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum that makes it at least great. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict? It is fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you may want to look Should you want a more solution to your advertising needs with greater customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone other positives such as strong integrations, the brief learning curve, and superior templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for significantly less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, enough choice is offered by the page builder. If you’re looking for a simple but solid sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. After all, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
