What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complicated advertising technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played around with email advertising for some time, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his lovers rave about and that guide people through his marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Black Box
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. However, they soon realized their production would be helpful to others and had great potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not understand you personally and turns them into clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to direct a web site visitor.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors . In a brick and mortar shop, that’s like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. You can talk your clients into buying something. In a digital shop, you could be a little more remote from the customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until visitors wind up at a page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you’re correct –it’s turned into a huge deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save time and energyto do what demands a lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making the user money. They make it put your content up, very easy to produce your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty simple to pick everything up–it will probably take you a few hours to figure out most of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a feature, and they have pulled it. It’s an easy to use drag and drop builder once you get accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of the traffic you wish to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
In general, it is great to get things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure that the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the complete package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Black Box
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few places that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not like I’ve mentioned , just another investment in your business, and a huge drawback, you get a good package for it.
Lackluster Client Service
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with basic queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a marketing for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you can try to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll end up buying online classes, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and many articles consists of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy internet marketer stuff.
Most of us know the founder is a marketing wizard, but much of this item is tied to his brand and his doctrine. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few elements of their merchandise (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the community. While you’ve got the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many men and women use layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is hard to know if your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option barring uptime, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency within my software, especially if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to a costly plan right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 per month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the full list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and custom domain names; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to watch the full official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think they’re strong and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Black Box
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a more compact feature a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically enables you to select what percentages of your visitors that you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It is a fantastic function and simple to use.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the fundamental features were pretty great.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will just take a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complicated. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more effective.
However, are separate products, or such attributes? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels

You can view the full list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you are in a position where you are able to manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, just StartUp will provide a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ main feature, so I wished to devote attention to it. In reality, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite a range of templates with good layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s rather easy to find them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with fundamental settings.
Once you start your pages you will essentially be working with a drag and drop builder. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within every other (this informative article includes a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have a row with a single column, or up to four. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go columns.
It may sound complicated, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it is a section, however when I was hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within those rows and columns. I personally don’t think this is a huge problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one you want and insert it. Clickfunnels Black Box
The process for managing integrations is also simple, though you may need to check your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward way of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all of these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally run smoothly and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of use–because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the case, assessing ease of use is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve would be just a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most queries must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a little bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can determine by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It unites alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all prospective users input with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures that are individual or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be great support too. The same holds for individuals selling content such as books or classes.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you need to produce your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area which is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but still adequate. Their docs page has a collection of classes. It might be simple, but it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Black Box
As for the customer service that is direct, they’ve a feature within the dashboard after you log into, but I am not delighted with it. They have been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they required to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when features haven’t worked as promised or when there were weird site malfunctions, customer service representatives were supposedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It might be a situation, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team largely understand that their services are not easy to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Perhaps most users wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets. Within this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching verdict? It is fine –4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: Should you want a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are greater, you may want to check. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as templates that are superior, integrations that are strong, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I’m pretty certain that for the vast majority of prospective users, the page builder provides option. If you’re looking first and foremost to get a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not reached its popularity In the end, and that I’m giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
