What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complicated advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played around with email advertising for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets, two novels his lovers rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Billing
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be useful to others.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes people who do not understand you and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to guide a website visitor.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a physical shop, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your customers. In a digital shop, you could be a bit more remote from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up at a payment page.
If you feel this sounds cool, you’re right–it has become a huge bargain for internet marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t only become rich by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save you time and energy–to do exactly what otherwise requires a whole lot of proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money for your user. They make it put your content up simple to make your account, and begin taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty simple to select up everything –it’ll likely take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I like how simple it is to replicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it off well. Once you get accustomed to it, it is an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the amounts of the traffic you want to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to manage.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it’s good to get things so concentrated: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from one platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You may be sure the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Billing
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have when they attempted to handle funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has a number of places that need work.
A drawback is the price. There are two options, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t just another investment in your business, a drawback, and like I’ve said, you get a good package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but I take a slight problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a great marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you will find yourself buying online courses, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
Most of us know the creator is a marketing magician, but much of this item is tied to his philosophy and his own brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of their product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more about the neighborhood. As you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many people use similar designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some errors. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are working or not, unless you always wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. Barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches when I clone webpages using the HTML printing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency within my applications, especially if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you do not need to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 a month. However, it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think they’re strong and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Clickfunnels Billing
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a feature a notable one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test basically lets you choose what percentages of your visitors that you want to view per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s simple to use and a function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of companies, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is just three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.
However, are products, or these attributes? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder to me, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a little confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members

- Purchase pages
- Upsell webpages

You can view the full list of features, along with complete Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you can afford to try out Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing sales, I don’t think you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wished to devote special attention to it. In fact, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s rather a range of templates with great designs, though as you can expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel kind, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can also save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is rather simple to find them. You can toggle with settings and open in the editor as you can see.
Once you open your pages from the editor, you be working with a drag and drop builder. It’s a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these parts as fitting inside every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go columns and also make your page interactive.
It might sound complex, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it is a part, however when I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but don’t have ) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these columns and rows. Personally, I do not think this is a massive issue and the builder gives you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For instance, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they will come up. It, just click on the one you desire and add it. Clickfunnels Billing
The procedure for managing integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be a lot of shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each of these integrations is fairly easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations operate and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of usage –because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the review of Russell Brunson if you’re really behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it probably will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It unites alternative and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience ) will get the most use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those that offer B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with people offering more innovative products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you’re a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there could be support also. The same goes for people selling content such as books or courses.
Obviously, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you need to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless adequate. Their page has a collection of categories, each with their own posts. It may be simple, but it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Billing
As the customer assistance, they have a feature within the dashboard once you log into for, but I’m not overly delighted by it. They have been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In instances when features haven’t worked when there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, client service reps were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, a number of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer service. It might be a situation that is bizarre, unlikely, however it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their services are not simple to use and/or demand tools fresh for their users, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least basic queries will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Most consumers, myself included, wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it meets a minimum that makes it at least good. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the verdict that is overarching? It’s good! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you might want to look, If you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with greater customization abilities. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with customer service agents, or any glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone additional positives like templates, integrations that are strong, and the short learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and reach conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I am pretty certain that for the majority of potential users, enough choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking first and foremost to get an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. In the end, it has not attained its popularity on promises, and that’s why I am giving it 4/5 stars.
