What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not just from ClickFunnels, but advertising experiences. He played around with email marketing for some time, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets that his lovers rave that direct and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels Backpack Review
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. However, they soon realized their production would be useful to other people and had good potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who do not know you and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps designed to direct a website visitor.
There is a dull method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your clients. In a store that is digital, you could be a little more distant from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel works step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up in a payment page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you’re correct –it’s turned into a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did not just get rich by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energyto do exactly what requires a lot of technological proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money for your consumer. They make it put your content up, easy to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty easy to select everything up–it’ll likely take you a few hours to figure out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a feature, and they have pulled it off well. It is an builder once you become accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is duplicate a page, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of your traffic that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is great to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may rest assured the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Backpack Review
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few areas that need work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two pricing alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 a month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback, another investment in your organization, and like I’ve said, you get a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic queries, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to look at the objective features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll end up purchasing online courses, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and posts consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
We know the founder is a marketing but much of this product is tied to his doctrine and his own brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it seems like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few elements of their product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. While you’ve got the capability to customize within ClickFunnels, many people use layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will go down. Though this doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are working or not, if you don’t always wait or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing option, barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etcand it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency within my software, particularly if it’s a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which may be more economical upfront and yield more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use package of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive plan right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say so, and I can see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the following section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to watch the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I think that they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Backpack Review
A/B split testing is definitely, although a feature a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test basically enables you to choose what percentages of your visitors that you need to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s simple to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of businesses, and also you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll only have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate program simpler and more effective.
However, are such features, or separate products? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder for me, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a bit perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Suite attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you can afford to try out Etison for a bit and you absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without themfor most users, just StartUp will offer a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In reality, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s rather a range of templates with good layouts, however as you can expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it is rather simple to find them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with fundamental settings.
When you open your pages in the editor, you will essentially be working with a drag and drop builder. It is a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting inside every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: elements, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you may have a row with one column, or up to four. Elements are the lively bits that go inside columns and make your page interactive to its visitors.
It may sound complex, but it’s rather easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it’s a part, but when I was hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. I personally don’t believe this is a massive problem and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you may add to your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click the one. Clickfunnels Backpack Review
The procedure for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to look at your third party software’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations usually run and you do not need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a few hours max. If you are actually behind, pick up the books mentioned earlier in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it’s things you can figure out by Googling around or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I would indicate all potential users input with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the most use from it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to a companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and those that offer B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does products or independent ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as publications or classes.
Obviously, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of classes. It may be simple, but content-wise it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Backpack Review
As for the customer assistance, they’ve a feature within the dashboard after you log in, but I’m not pleased with it. They’ve generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in instances when attributes have not worked if there were weird site malfunctions or as promised, customer support representatives were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic, when he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a improbable situation.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team largely understand that their solutions are not simple to use and/or demand tools new to their customers, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least fundamental questions will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps most users, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it largely meets. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you might want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect together, Should you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization abilities. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone additional advantages like templates that are superior, integrations that are strong, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I am pretty certain that for the vast majority of users, the page builder offers enough choice. If you are looking first and foremost to get an easy but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. After all, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
