ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the author of DotCom Secrets that his fans rave that guide and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Awards
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be helpful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who do not understand you personally and turns them to clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures developed to direct a web site visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a boring method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical store, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a store, you can talk your clients. In a shop that is digital, you may be a little more remote from the visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until people end up in a payment page.
You’re right if you think that sounds cool –it has turned into a huge deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did become rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energyto do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it quite simple to produce your account, put your content up, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather simple to pick up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to find out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a pretty important feature, and they’ve pulled it off nicely. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder As soon as you get accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of the visitors that you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin that allows you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
In general, it is great to get things so concentrated: I will build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise need to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Awards
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have when they tried to manage funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few places that need work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t just another investment in your business a huge drawback, and like I have said, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Client Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a fantastic advertising for sure. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you will find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and most posts consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing but much of this item is tied to his brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult to not get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. As you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use designs. Taking into consideration the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is difficult to know when your pages are working or not, if you don’t always wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I clone pages using the HTML printing option barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I like consistency within my applications if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which can be more economical upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the support , so at least you do not need to commit to a costly program right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say , and that I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 a month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level account and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the complete official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe that they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Awards
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the split test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of the visitors that you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s very simple to use and a fantastic function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it is a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
But are separate products, or these features? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I’m just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a bit confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the complete list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a situation where you can afford to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge advantage that you can’t do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote attention to it. In reality, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather a range of templates with good layouts, however as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can also save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with settings.
You’ll basically be working with a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting within every other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have a row with one column, or up to four. Elements are the dynamic bits that make your page interactive to its customers and go columns.
It may sound complicated, but it is rather simple to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it is a section, but if I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within those columns and rows. Personally, I do not believe this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, just click the one. Clickfunnels Awards
The process for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the procedure simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple way of adding and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you are attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations operate smoothly and you do not have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of usage is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. If you are actually behind, pick up the books mentioned earlier in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most queries should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is things you can determine by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the most use from it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures that are independent or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be support too. The same holds for individuals selling content like books or classes.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, okay with the price tag, and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that consists of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is only for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their page includes a series of classes, each with their own posts. It might be simple, but content-wise it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Awards
As once you log in for the customer service that is immediate, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I am not pleased by it. They’ve generally been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in instances when features haven’t worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client support representatives were supposedly either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a improbable situation.
Overall Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team largely understand that their services are not perfectly simple to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Perhaps most consumers wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a minimum that makes it at least good. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the overarching conclusion? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: If you need a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with customization abilities that are higher, you might want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to tie. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let other positives such as templates that are superior, integrations that are solid, and the short learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite useful for less entrepreneurs. I’m pretty sure that for the vast majority of users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you’re looking for an easy but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It hasn’t reached its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
