ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using otherwise complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played with email marketing for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets that his lovers rave that guide and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Avatar
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their creation would be helpful to others and had good potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not understand you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to guide a web site visitor.
There’s a less dull method of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or website visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors into customers. In a physical store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. At a store, you can speak your clients into buying something. In a shop, you could be a little more remote from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer until people end up in a payment page.
You are right, if you think this sounds cool –it has turned into a massive deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did not only get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money. They make it put up your content quite simple to make your accounts, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty easy to pick everything up–it’ll probably take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how simple it is to duplicate pages, and the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a fairly important attribute, and they’ve pulled it. It is an builder As soon as you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the numbers of the traffic you wish to see version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a useful WordPress plugin which allows you add ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it’s good to get things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full package might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Avatar
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they would have when they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of places that require work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback another investment in your business, and like I’ve said, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a advertising for certain. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This usually means you’ll find yourself purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and most articles consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.
A lot of this item is tied into his doctrine and his brand, although Most of us know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when some aspects of their merchandise (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, many people use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating around. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some mistakes or will return. Though this doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing alternative, barring uptime, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency within my applications, especially if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, in order you do not need to commit to a costly plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the complete list of features.
However, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which allows you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think they’re solid and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Avatar
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of your traffic that you need to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It is simple to use and a function.
I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the basic features were pretty great.
There are a number of types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and also you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate program simpler and more efficient.
But are products that are different, or such attributes? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the complete list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, easy method of increasing earnings, I do not think you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote special attention. In fact, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, however as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings and open from the editor.
When you start your pages in the editor, you’ll essentially be working using a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these parts as fitting inside each other (this article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: elements, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go indoors segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have a row with a single column, or around four. Elements are the lively bits that go columns and make your page interactive.
It might sound complicated, but it’s rather easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box since it’s a part, however when I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within those columns and rows. Personally, I do not think this is a huge issue and the builder gives you enough hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click the one. Clickfunnels Avatar
The process for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might need to look at your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely simple method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each of these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations run smoothly and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its simplicity of usage –as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve could be just a few hours maximum. If you are actually behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned previously in the critique.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of understanding, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can determine by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably will not be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and those offering B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with those offering more innovative products or individual ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a florist, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything there would be good support too. The same holds for individuals selling content like books or classes.
Obviously, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although only for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a collection of categories. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnels Avatar
As after you log in for the customer service that is direct, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I am not overly delighted by it. They’ve generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they required to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. In cases when attributes haven’t worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client service reps were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. After he contacted customer support, he found that they were apathetic and unhelpful. It illustrates the point, although it may be a unlikely scenario.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team largely understand that their services are not absolutely easy to use and/or demand tools fresh for their users, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least fundamental questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Most consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a minimum which makes it. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is fine! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you may want to look into third party choices you can tie together Should you want a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other positives such as solid integrations the brief learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite useful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of users, the page builder provides enough choice. If you are looking first and foremost for an sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. After all, it hasn’t attained its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
