ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using otherwise complicated advertising technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played with email advertising for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets that his fans rave about and that direct people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team produce funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would normally take weeks. They soon realized their creation would be useful to other people and had great potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who don’t know you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures designed to direct a website visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a dull way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn into clients. In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. You can talk your customers into purchasing something. In a digital shop, you may be a little more remote from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ . The funnel functions step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a payment page.
You’re right, if you feel that sounds cool –it has become a huge deal for online advertising. Russell Brunson did not just become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energyto do what requires a lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it simple to produce your account, put your content up, and start taking payments. Additionally, it is rather simple to select up everything –it’ll likely take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to replicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a fairly important feature, and they’ve pulled it. As soon as you become accustomed to it, it is an builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the numbers of your visitors that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress website. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
Overall, it’s good to get things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Ask Campaign
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they would have when they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of areas that need work.
A little drawback is the price. There are just two alternatives, at $97 per month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your organization, a drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental questions, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they will not be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their product but that I take a slight issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They have a marketing. But from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you can try to look at the objective features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll end up buying online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and posts consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more focused on earning quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.
Much of the product is tied into his philosophy and his brand, although we know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard to not get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few aspects of the product (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. As you have the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, unless you always wait or wait till you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing alternative, barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my applications if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it is too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and give more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to a costly program right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and that I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 a month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which allows you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the differences, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to watch the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe that they’re solid and you get whatever you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Ask Campaign
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a notable one.
If you duplicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your traffic that you need to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a function and quite simple to use.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of businesses, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complicated. The chief goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are products, or these features? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations

You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you are in a situation where you can manage to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wished to devote attention to it. In reality, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s quite a range of templates with great layouts, though as you may expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You might also save certain templates and also make own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, you open from the editor and can toggle with basic settings.
When you start your pages you will essentially be working with a drag and drop builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Think of these parts as fitting inside every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: components, columns, and rows go inside of sections. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive and go inside columns.
It might sound complex, but it’s rather easy to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it is a part, but if I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) on the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within these columns and rows. I personally don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or just click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one you desire and add it. Clickfunnels Ask Campaign
The process for managing integrations can also be straightforward, though you might have to check your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the procedure simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward method of incorporating and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you’re trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run smoothly and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of usage –as their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of usage is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say the learning curve could be just a few hours max. If you behind, pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can determine by Googling around or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would suggest all prospective users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (speaking from experience ) will find the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with those offering more ventures that are individual or creative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for example, if you are a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support too. The same holds for individuals selling content such as publications or courses.
Obviously, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you need to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to maintain a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but nevertheless adequate. Their page includes a series of categories. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels Ask Campaign
As after you log into for the customer assistance that is immediate, they have a feature within the dashboard, but I’m not delighted by it. They’ve generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t offer that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In instances when attributes have not worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client support reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it may be a scenario that is bizarre, improbable.
Overall Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools fresh to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least queries will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Perhaps users wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets. In this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the verdict? It is fine! It is a legitimate contender in the marketing program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: Should you want a more solution to your marketing needs with customization abilities that are greater, you may want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to tie. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional positives such as templates that are superior integrations, and the brief learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be pretty helpful for significantly less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I am pretty certain that for the huge majority of users, enough option is offered by the page builder. If you are looking first and foremost for a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
