What’s ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complex marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).

The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets his lovers rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Archive Funnel

ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. But they had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be useful to others.

What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who do not know you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures developed to direct a website visitor into the checkout page.

There’s a boring method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call internet traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into customers. In a physical shop, that is like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without purchasing anything. In a store, you can speak your customers. In a shop, you could be a bit more remote from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer until visitors wind up in a payment page.

You are right, if you feel this sounds cool –it’s turned into a huge deal for internet advertising. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I have got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energy–to do what requires a lot of competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Cash

Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money for your user. They make it put your content up easy to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather easy to pick everything up–it will likely take you a few hours to find out a lot of what you need, maximum.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it off well. It’s an builder As soon as you get accustomed to it.

A/B testing

Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the numbers of the visitors you want to view version A or B.

Great Choice of Integrations

I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations pretty well. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to manage.

WordPress Plugin

You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , using over 20,000 active installations.

All in 1

In general, it is great to get things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.

All of this really does save time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.

Reasonable Value

You may rest assured the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you have over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Archive Funnel

ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have if they tried to handle funnels another manner.

Cons: Clickfunnels Review

I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of areas that need work.

Overpriced?

A drawback is the cost. There are only two pricing alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not like I have mentioned , another investment in your organization, and a massive drawback, you receive a good package for it.

Lackluster Customer Service

Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic questions, but if you ask them harder things, particularly about more innovative features, they will not be quite beneficial.

Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Creator

This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but that I take a small issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is hard to escape the hype. They have a fantastic advertising for certain. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you can try to examine the objective features of this software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.

This usually means you will end up purchasing online classes, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and many articles consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more focused on earning quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, on line classes, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.

We know the creator is a marketing wizard, but much of the product is tied to his brand and his philosophy. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an extension of Brunson’s platform.

Sometimes it’s hard to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when a few elements of the product (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the community. As you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some mistakes or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of cash.

It’s also hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. Barring bandwidth, I also deal with a few glitches when I clone webpages using the HTML publishing alternative.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options change, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.

I enjoy consistency in my applications, especially if it is a business solution.

Too Straightforward

At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which may be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, in order you don’t have to commit to an expensive program right away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).

Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.

The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.

However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.

If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of this ClickFunnels review.

To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to view the complete official record .

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I think they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels Archive Funnel

A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a one.

If you duplicate a page and make changes to the copy, the split test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the traffic that you need to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very handily. It’s quite easy to use and a function.

I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the fundamental features were fairly great.

There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of businesses, and also you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch also.

Actionetics and Backpack

I’ll just take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a little more complicated. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.

However, are these attributes, or products that are different? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.

Here is the full list of all StartUp attributes
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 traffic
  • unlimited contacts
  • 3 habit domains
  • A/B split tests
  • Mail integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All innovative funnels
  • Revenue funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Endless members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Purchase webpages
  • Upsell webpages
  • Downsale pages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 billing integration per form

You may view the full list of features, along with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a position where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, easy way of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can’t do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough bundle.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ most important feature, so I wished to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this landing page builder.

Anyway, there’s rather a range of templates with good designs, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.

You might even save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is rather simple to find them. You can toggle with settings and open in the editor as you can see.

You’ll essentially be working with a drop and drag builder once your pages start from the editor. It’s a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these components as fitting inside every other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that also make your page interactive to its visitors and go columns.

It might sound complex, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it’s a part, but if I was hovering over an element, it could be orange.

You can edit section, row, column, and so on, via the side bar. Parts of your webpage and all of the details can be altered or moved. The editor allows for plenty of customization, but offers control that is good . You can do a variety of things–mobile previews, edit colors, text, settings, and just about anything you expect. If you’re handy with code, then you can even add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A small criticism I have heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you have to work within those columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a huge issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like: other advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are enrolled with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Continuous Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one you desire and add it. Clickfunnels Archive Funnel

The process for handling integrations can also be simple, though you might have to check your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very straightforward way of incorporating and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.

A list of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Handling all of these integrations is pretty simple –as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations operate and you do not have to fret much.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of usage –because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is really important.

Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.

Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours maximum. If you are really behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned in the review.

Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.

All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you can figure out by Googling around or seeing the docs centre.

Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it probably won’t be sufficient to hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all prospective users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.

Who’s ClickFunnels for?

Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience ) will get the maximum use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those that offer B2B services will most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything there would be support too. The same goes for people selling content such as classes or publications.

Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller business, okay with the price tag, and you need to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a better landing page.

Client Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is nevertheless sufficient, although just for SaaS companies. Their docs page includes a series of classes. It might be simple, however content-wise it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels Archive Funnel

As for the direct customer service, they have a feature within the dashboard once you log in, but I am not pleased by it. They have generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client support representatives were supposedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. After he contacted customer service, he found that they were unhelpful and apathetic. It may be a situation, but it illustrates the point.

Overall Support Rating

I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team understand that their services are not perfectly simple to use and/or involve tools new for their customers, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least basic questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe consumers would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum that makes it at least great. In this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

What’s the overarching verdict? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising software space and worth trying out.

Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: If you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are higher, you might want to check into third party options you’ll be able to connect together. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.

However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other advantages such as strong integrations, the brief learning curve, and superior templates.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be pretty helpful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty sure that for the majority of prospective users, choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking for a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It has not attained its popularity on promises, and that I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
