What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, but not just from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two novels his fans rave that direct and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnels And Eway
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would usually take months. However, they had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their production would be useful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes individuals who don’t know you personally and turns them into customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures designed to direct a web site visitor.
There is a way of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into clients. In a physical shop, that is like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can speak your customers into purchasing something. In a shop that is digital, you may be a bit more remote from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer till visitors end up at a page.
You’re right, if you think that sounds cool –it has become a massive deal for marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t just become wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save you time and energy–to do what otherwise demands a lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money for the user. They make it put your content up, quite easy to make your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty easy to pick up everything –it will probably take you a couple hours to find out a lot of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a feature, and they have pulled it off well. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder, once you get used to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of your visitors you wish to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it is good to have things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You may rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels And Eway
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have when they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s quite a few areas that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are just two alternatives, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your business a massive drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic questions, but if you inquire harder things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of their product but that I take a slight issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a fantastic advertising. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to look at the purpose features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you’ll end up purchasing online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k members and most posts consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and specialists, along with other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
A lot of this product is tied to his philosophy and his brand, although we all know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few aspects of the merchandise (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more on the community. While you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many people use similar layouts. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of money.
In addition, it is hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, unless you always wait or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I replicate webpages using the HTML printing alternative barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, especially if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling specific details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the support , in order you do not have to commit to an expensive program straight away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say , and that I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality which lets you describe a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I think that they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels And Eway
A/B split testing is definitely, although a smaller feature a one.
If you duplicate a page and make changes to the copy, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your traffic you need to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very handily. It is very simple to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I thought the basic features were pretty great.
There are quite a few types of available pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of companies, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will just have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it is a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are products that are separate, or these features? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Complete Suite a little perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You can view the complete list of features, along with Full Package features, here. If you’re in a position where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t think you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive advantage that you can not do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wanted to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite a range of templates with great designs, however as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you open in the editor and can toggle with settings.
Once you start your pages from the editor, you’ll essentially be working using a drag and drop builder. It’s a little more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Think of these parts as fitting inside every other (this informative article includes a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that go within columns and make your page interactive.
It might sound complicated, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it is a section, but when I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I don’t believe this is a huge issue and the builder provides you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnels And Eway
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might have to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward way of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they’re the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally operate smoothly and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is really significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say that the learning curve could be only a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you’re really behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The center features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users input with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use from it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those that offer B2B services would probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with people offering more ventures that are independent or creative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you are a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as classes or books.
Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you need to produce your visitors work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their page includes a series of categories, each with their own posts. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be simple. Clickfunnels And Eway
As after you log into for the customer assistance that is direct, they have a chat feature within the dashboard, but I’m not too delighted with it. They’ve generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked as promised or if there were weird site malfunctions, client support representatives were supposedly either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. When he contacted customer support, he found that they were unhelpful. It may be a scenario that is bizarre, unlikely, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel the team largely understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or demand tools fresh for their users, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps most consumers would not state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it largely meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the overarching verdict? It’s good! It’s a legitimate contender in the marketing software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: If you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization skills that are greater, you might want to look. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone other positives like solid integrations the brief learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach higher conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of potential users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you are looking first and foremost to get an sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. In the end, it has not reached its popularity on promises, and that is why I am giving 4/5 stars to it.
