ClickFunnels has made a fairly big name for itself since it began, becoming one of the largest advertising SaaS (Software as a Service) companies around. I guess it is no surprise–ClickFunnels is all about making its users money. It’s about giving software which helps them turn their own website visitors to companies. It is no wonder ClickFunnels has grown in such a brief time period.
Does this mean it’s well worth it, although there is no denying it’s popular? Just how much can we hope the audience on this one? In this ClickFunnels review, I will go through the gist of ClickFunnels–what it really is, the positives and the negatives, the characteristics, customer service, and so on. I’m basing this review on my experience with ClickFunnels’ StartUp plan, which includes the ClickFunnels attributes and plenty of other bells and whistles. As not every user will concur with me, I give a nod towards other reviews I have seen.

What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played with email advertising for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets his lovers rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnels Affiliate Rules
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his team produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. They soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who do not understand you personally and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to guide a website visitor.
There’s a less dull way of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors doesn’t turn into customers. In a brick and mortar store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. At a physical store, you can talk your clients into buying something. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more remote from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer until people end up in a page.
You are right if you feel that sounds cool –it has become a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did not just get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save you time and energy–to do what demands a whole lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money. They make it easy to make your accounts, put your content up, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather easy to pick everything up–it’ll probably take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important attribute, and they have pulled it off well. It is an builder, once you get accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of the traffic that you wish to view variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You’ll also find a useful WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
In general, it is great to get things so concentrated: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Affiliate Rules
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they tried to manage funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of areas that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are just two pricing alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I’ve mentioned , just another investment in your organization, and a drawback, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they will not be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their product but I take a small problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a fantastic marketing for certain. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to look at the purpose features of this software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you’ll find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and most articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy online marketer stuff.
Most of us know the creator is a marketing wizard, but much of the item is tied to his philosophy and his own brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few elements of the product (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use similar designs. Taking into consideration the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a lot of money.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are functioning or not, unless you always check or wait until you hear from angry clients. Barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches when I clone pages using the HTML printing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my software, particularly if it is a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too simple, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the support , in order you don’t have to commit to a costly program straight away. Should you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some would say so, and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature that lets you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Package, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You are able to watch the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnels Affiliate Rules
A/B split testing is a smaller feature, but definitely a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the split test essentially lets you select what percentages of your traffic that you want to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is easy to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the fundamental features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of companies, and you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are products, or these features? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to sell a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You can view the complete list of features, together with Full Package features, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can’t do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will offer a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote special attention to it. In reality, I think a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with great designs, however as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can also save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with fundamental settings and open in the editor.
You will basically be working using a drag and drop builder once your pages start from the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other mild page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four main components: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this informative article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: components, columns, and rows go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that also make your page interactive to its visitors and go within columns.
It may sound complicated, but it’s rather easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box since it’s a part, but when I was hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I don’t believe this is a massive problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or just click on the search bar, and they will come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one. Clickfunnels Affiliate Rules
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to check your third party program’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward method of incorporating and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations run smoothly and you do not have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of use–because their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, assessing ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I’d say the learning curve would be only a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can determine by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it probably won’t be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users enter with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will find the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and those offering B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with people offering more ventures that are independent or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you’re a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there could be good support too. The same goes for people selling content such as books or courses.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you have to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is adequate, although only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page includes a series of classes. It might be simple, but content-wise it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnels Affiliate Rules
As for the customer assistance that is direct, they’ve a feature inside the dashboard after you log into, but I am not too pleased by it. They have generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. Notably, in instances when attributes have not worked as promised or if there were bizarre site malfunctions, customer service reps were supposedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer service, he discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic. It may be a situation that is improbable, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team largely understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it decent. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe most users, myself included, would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the overarching verdict? It’s good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: Should you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization skills that are higher, you might want to check into third party choices you can tie. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone additional advantages like integrations that are strong, the brief learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite helpful for significantly less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, the webpage builder provides enough choice. If you’re looking to get a simple but solid sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It has not reached its popularity on promises, and that is why I am giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
