What is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complex advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).

The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email marketing for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets his lovers rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website Clickfunnels Add Products

ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. But they had good potential as a product and soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people.

Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes individuals who do not understand you personally and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to direct a web site visitor.

There’s a way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors into customers. In a brick and mortar store, that’s like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without buying anything. You can speak your customers. In a digital store, you may be a little more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your clients’ . The funnel works incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer until visitors end up in a page.

You’re correct if you think this sounds cool –it has turned into a huge deal for marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t just become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is intended to save you time and energyto do what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Money

Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning the consumer money. They make it put your content up very easy to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Plus, it is pretty simple to pick everything up–it will probably take you a couple hours to find out most of what you need, max.

Drag and Drop Builder

A few features are extremely useful here. I enjoy how simple it is to replicate pages, and the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important attribute, and they have pulled it off well. Once you become used to it, it’s an easy to use drag and drop builder.

A/B analyzing

Constructed in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of the visitors you wish to view version A or B.

Great Choice of Integrations

I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.

WordPress Plugin

You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active setups.

All in 1

Overall, it is great to have things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.

All of this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.

Reasonable Value

You can rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels Add Products

ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have when they attempted to manage funnels another manner.

Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review

I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that need work.

A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at $97 per month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t just another investment in your business, a massive drawback, and like I’ve mentioned, you receive a fantastic package for this.

Lackluster Client Support

Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic questions, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more innovative features, they won’t be very beneficial.

Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Creator

This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They’ve a great marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you can try to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.

This means you’ll end up purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and articles consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and specialists, and other spammy internet marketer stuff.

We know the creator is a marketing but so much of this item is tied to his own brand and his doctrine. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.

At times it’s difficult to not get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few elements of their product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is important.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or encounter some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.

In addition, it is difficult to know if your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML printing option, barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.

I enjoy consistency in my software if it is a business alternative.

Too Straightforward

Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that may be more economical upfront and yield more control over handling specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the support , so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive plan right away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).

Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some might say , and I can see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 a month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.

The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.

But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature that allows you describe a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.

If you are confused with Etison/ Full Suite, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the following section of this ClickFunnels review.

To outline the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to view the complete official list here.

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you want. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate segments. Clickfunnels Add Products

A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a smaller feature a one.

If you duplicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the divide test essentially enables you to select what percentages of the traffic that you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It’s a function and very simple to use.

I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the basic features were fairly great.

There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of companies, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch also.

Actionetics and Backpack

I will just have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate system simpler and more effective.

However, are different products, or these attributes? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to sell an iffy email auto-responder for me, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.

Here’s the full list of StartUp features
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 visitors
  • unlimited contacts
  • 3 custom domains
  • A/B split tests
  • Email integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All advanced funnels
  • Revenue funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Endless members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Order pages
  • Upsell pages
  • Downsale webpages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 billing integration per form

You can view the full list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can’t do without them: for most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough bundle.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote attention. In fact, I think a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.

Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with great designs, however as you may expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.

You might even save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it’s rather easy to see them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings that are basic and open from the editor.

Once your pages start from the editor, you’ll essentially be working using a drop and drag builder. It’s a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four main parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these parts as fitting within each other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that go within columns and also make your page interactive to its customers.

It might sound complicated, but it is rather easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for example, from the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it is a part, however if I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.

You could edit section, row, column, etc, through the side bar. All of the little details and parts of your page can be moved or altered. The template editor allows for lots of customization, but offers control . You can do all sorts of things–mobile previews, edit colors, text, configurations, and just about anything you anticipate. If you’re handy with code, you can also add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally do not think this is a huge issue and the builder gives you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different kinds of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has quite a few notable partners you can add to your integrations readily. Here’s a list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Continuous Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click the one you want and add it. Clickfunnels Add Products

The process for managing integrations can also be simple, though you might have to check your third party program’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very straightforward way of incorporating and handling integrations.

Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a section separate from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.

A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Managing all of these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run and you do not have to fret much about them.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is pretty important.

Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some experience.

Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you are really behind.

Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.

All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is stuff you can figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.

Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely will not be enough to significantly hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all potential users input with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who’s ClickFunnels for?

Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies more than others.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for example, if you are a florist, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything around yourself and your brand, there could be support also. The same holds for individuals selling content like publications or courses.

Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, okay with the price , and you need to produce your visitors work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a better landing page.

Customer Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but nevertheless adequate. Their docs page has a collection of categories, each with their own articles. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnels Add Products

As for the customer service that is direct, they’ve a chat feature within the dashboard once you log into, but I’m not delighted with it. They have generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when features have not worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client support reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. After he contacted customer service, he found they were unhelpful and apathetic. It illustrates the point, although it may be a scenario that is bizarre, improbable.

Overall Support Rating

I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team mostly understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools new for their users, and they have put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Most users wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

What’s the verdict that is overarching? It’s good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.

Yeah, a few drawbacks are: you might want to check into third party options you can connect together, Should you need a more answer to your advertising needs with greater customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.

However, you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone additional advantages such as good templates, integrations that are strong, and the learning curve.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be pretty helpful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are less. I’m pretty sure that for the vast majority of users, the page builder provides choice. If you’re looking for an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it has not reached its popularity after all, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
