What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complex marketing technologies, known as sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played with email marketing for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets that his lovers rave about and that guide people through his marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Clickfunnels 6 Month Trial
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his team produce funnels more quickly for different ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They had good potential as a product and soon realized their production would be useful to others.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes individuals who don’t know you and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to direct a web site visitor.
There is a less boring way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or website visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without purchasing anything. At a store, you can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you could be a bit more remote from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ . The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer till visitors wind up in a payment page.
You’re right, if you think this sounds cool –it’s become a huge deal for advertising. Russell Brunson did get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energyto do exactly what otherwise requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making your consumer money. They make it put your content up quite simple to produce your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it is pretty easy to select everything up–it will likely take you a few hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder, once you become accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and pick the amounts of your visitors that you want to view variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is good to get things so concentrated: I can build my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise need to spend on developers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You can be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you have over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnels 6 Month Trial
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of areas that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two options, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a drawback, just another investment in your organization, and like I have mentioned, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental queries, but if you inquire harder things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but I take a small issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a marketing. But from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you’ll end up purchasing online courses, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and most articles is composed of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
Most of us know the founder is a marketing wizard, but much of this item is tied to his philosophy and his brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when some elements of the product (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more about the neighborhood. While you have the ability to customize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will go down. Though this doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML printing option barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options alter, etcand it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency within my applications, especially if it’s a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the service, so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive plan right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 per month. However, it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the subsequent section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnels 6 Month Trial
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the backup, the split test basically lets you select what percentages of the traffic that you want to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s a great function and easy to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the basic features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your own funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it is a little more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
However, are products that are different, or such attributes? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me, but perhaps I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may watch the full list of features, along with Full Suite attributes, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can not do without them: for many users, just StartUp will provide a thorough adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wished to devote attention. In reality, I feel a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s quite an array of templates with great layouts, though as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and also make personal page templates, and it is pretty simple to see them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings and open from the editor.
You be working with a drag and drop builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four main components: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within every other (this article has a helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of sections. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or around four. Elements are the dynamic bits that make your page interactive to its customers and go columns.
It might sound complex, but it’s rather easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it is a part, however if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A small criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is how grid-like it is–you need to work within those columns and rows. I personally don’t think this is a huge problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct kinds of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one you want and insert it. Clickfunnels 6 Month Trial
The procedure for managing integrations can also be simple, though you may need to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the procedure simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate smoothly and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of usage –because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I would say that the learning curve could be just a few hours maximum. If you’re actually behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned previously in the review.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it appears to me like most queries should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it probably won’t be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users input with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services would most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more independent ventures or creative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good way of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there could be great support also. The same goes for people selling content like courses or publications.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is still adequate, although just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their page includes a series of classes, each with their own articles. It might be simple, however it isn’t too shabby. Clickfunnels 6 Month Trial
As for the customer assistance that is immediate, they have a feature within the dashboard once you log into, but I am not delighted by it. They have generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not need that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in instances when features have not worked when there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, client support reps were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, some of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it may be a bizarre, improbable scenario.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team largely understand that their solutions are not perfectly simple to use and/or involve tools fresh to their users, and they have put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Perhaps consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets a bare minimum which makes it. Within this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s good–4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you may want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect Should you want a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with greater customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as templates that are good, integrations that are solid, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain higher conversion rates. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for entrepreneurs that are significantly less. I am pretty sure that for the majority of users, the page builder offers enough option. If you’re looking to get an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t attained its popularity on promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
