What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using differently complicated advertising technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played with email advertising for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets that his lovers rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnel Shopify
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as creating funnels would normally take months. But they soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes people who don’t know you personally and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures developed to direct a website visitor.
There is a dull way of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a physical shop, that is like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without purchasing anything. In a physical store, you can talk your customers into buying something. In a digital store, you may be a little more remote from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer till people wind up in a payment page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you’re right–it has become a massive bargain for online marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t only get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energy–to do what demands a whole lot of technological proficiency and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning your consumer money. They make it put your content up very simple to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather easy to select everything up–it will probably take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a fairly important attribute, and they’ve pulled it. It’s an simple to use drag and drop builder once you get accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you need to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of your visitors you want to view variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to manage.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
Overall, it is good to have things so centralized: I will construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the complete package might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnel Shopify
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to handle funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it’s a number of areas that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your business, a drawback, and like I have said, you receive a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental queries, but if you inquire harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a marketing for certain. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you register for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This usually means you’ll find yourself buying online courses, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and most articles is composed of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more focused on making quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and experts, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
Much of the item is tied into his own brand and his philosophy, although we all know the founder is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, many people use designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will return or encounter some mistakes. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, then you may potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait till you hear from angry customers. Barring uptime, I also deal with a few glitches when I replicate pages using the HTML printing alternative.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency within my applications, particularly if it is a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be cheaper upfront and give more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test the support , in order you do not need to commit to an expensive program straight away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I can see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 per month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I think that they’re strong and you get whatever you need. They’re largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnel Shopify
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the split test basically enables you to select what percentages of your visitors you want to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is a function and very simple to use.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of businesses, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate program simpler and more effective.
However, are products that are separate, or such features? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder to me, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a bit perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts

You may watch the complete list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you’re in a position where you are able to manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t believe you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wanted to devote special attention to it. In reality, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite a range of templates with good layouts, though as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and make own page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with fundamental settings and open in the editor.
When your pages open in the editor, you be working with a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these components as fitting inside each other (this informative article includes a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that also make your page interactive to its visitors and go within columns.
It may sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it’s a part, however when I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally don’t believe this is a huge issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional advertising and marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct kinds of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations easily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click the search bar, and they will come up. It, simply click on the one you desire and insert it. Clickfunnel Shopify
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section separate from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop won’t really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use–because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say that the learning curve could be only a few hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The core features of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably will not be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It unites alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users input with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will get the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a companies.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does products or ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be support too. The same goes for people selling content such as books or courses.
Obviously, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely on their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller business, okay with the price , and you need to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is adequate, although only for SaaS companies. Their page has a collection of categories, each with their own posts. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it might be easy. Clickfunnel Shopify
As the immediate customer assistance, they’ve a chat feature inside the dashboard once you log into for, but I’m not delighted by it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they took three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in instances when attributes have not worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer support representatives were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it might be a situation.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think the team understand that their solutions are not perfectly easy to use and/or involve tools fresh to their customers, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps most consumers wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has outstanding customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum that makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the overarching conclusion? It’s fine! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you may want to look into third party choices you’ll be able to connect, Should you need a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with greater customization abilities. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives like integrations that are strong, the learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and reach higher conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I am pretty certain that for the majority of users, the webpage builder provides enough option. If you’re looking to get a simple but solid sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not reached its popularity on promises, and that’s why I’m giving it 4/5 celebrities.
