What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complex marketing technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two novels his lovers rave about and that direct people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Clickfunnel Owner
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be helpful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes individuals who don’t understand you and turns them to clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to guide a web site visitor.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors into clients. In a physical store, that’s like people walking into your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a physical store, you can talk your clients. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer till people wind up at a payment page.
You’re right, if you think this sounds cool –it has become a massive deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson didn’t just get rich by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energy–to do what demands a whole lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money for your user. They make it simple to produce your account, put your content up, and start taking payments. Plus, it is rather easy to select everything up–it’ll likely take you a couple hours to find out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a feature that is pretty important, and they’ve pulled it off nicely. It is an builder, As soon as you become used to it.
Built in A/B testing is great. All you need to do is replicate a page, make your changes, and pick the numbers of the traffic that you want to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active setups.
All in one
In general, it is great to have things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured that the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete package might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnel Owner
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few places that need work.
A drawback is the price. There are two pricing options, at $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your business a drawback, and like I’ve mentioned, you get a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with basic queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more innovative features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but I take a slight issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype. They’ve a great advertising for sure. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing methods.
This usually means you’ll find yourself purchasing online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
So much of this product is tied into his philosophy and his own brand, although Most of us know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult to not get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some elements of the merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the capability to personalize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some errors. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or driving visitors to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a good deal of money.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing option barring uptime, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency within my software if it is a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over handling specific details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the service, so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive plan right away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I can see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you characterize a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp essentially conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think they’re solid and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I will be giving them different segments. Clickfunnel Owner
A/B split testing is unquestionably, although a smaller feature a noteworthy one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the divide test basically enables you to choose what percentages of the visitors you need to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s a great function and simple to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the basic features were pretty great.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of businesses, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is just three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to create managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.
However, are these features, or different products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order pages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You can view the complete list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you’re in a position where you are able to afford to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can’t do without them: for many users, simply StartUp will offer a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote attention. In fact, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there’s rather an array of templates with great layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it’s rather easy to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings and open in the editor.
When your pages start in the editor, you’ll basically be working with a drop and drag builder. It is a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these components as fitting inside each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the lively bits that go columns and also make your page interactive.
It may sound complex, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box since it’s a part, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within those columns and rows. Personally, I don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few partners you can add to your integrations. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It, just click the one. Clickfunnel Owner
The procedure for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party software’s documentation to find precisely what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll discover the procedure pretty straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of adding and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is fairly simple –as long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you are attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations operate and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its ease of usage –as their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For most people, I would say that the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson if you are actually behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most queries must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The center features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with ease, and while I’d suggest all potential users input with some basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience here) will find the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does creative products or ventures that are independent. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for example, if you are a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there would be great support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as courses or publications.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I do not believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is sufficient, although only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a series of categories. It might be easy, but it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnel Owner
As for the customer service, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard once you log into, but I am not pleased by it. They have generally been useful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they required to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that sort of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when attributes have not worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, customer support representatives were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. When he contacted customer support, he discovered that they were apathetic and unhelpful. It illustrates the point, although it may be a bizarre, improbable situation.
Overall Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team understand that their solutions are not simple to use and/or involve tools fresh for their customers, and they’ve put resources in their support to make it decent. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Most users, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a bare minimum that makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict? It’s fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you might want to look, If you want a more hands-on answer to your marketing needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone additional advantages such as integrations that are strong, the brief learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite useful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I am pretty sure that for the huge majority of prospective users, the page builder provides choice. If you are looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. After all, it hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
