ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complicated marketing technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email advertising for a while, and began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets his fans rave that direct and about people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Clickfunnel Dashboard
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their creation would be helpful to others and had good potential as a product.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a process that takes people who do not understand you and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to guide a website visitor.
There is a way of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or website visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. You can speak your clients into buying something. In a store, you may be a bit more distant from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until visitors end up in a payment page.
You are correct if you feel that sounds cool –it has turned into a massive bargain for online marketing. Russell Brunson did become rich by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energyto do what otherwise requires a lot of competence and/or a range of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making money. They make it put your content up, very simple to produce your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty simple to select everything up–it will likely take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a fairly important feature, and they’ve pulled it. It’s an builder, As soon as you become used to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is replicate a webpage, make your changes, and choose the amounts of your visitors that you wish to see version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips aren’t too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it is great to get things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All this really does save time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to invest on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.
You may rest assured that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete package may not be too much to ask. Clickfunnel Dashboard
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they tried to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two pricing alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback, just another investment in your business, and like I have said, you get a package for it.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with basic questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but I take a slight problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a advertising. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll find yourself buying online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and articles consists of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sport cars. Although these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and specialists, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing magician, but so much of the item is tied into his doctrine and his own brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of the merchandise (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the community. While you have the ability to personalize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use layouts. Taking into consideration the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some mistakes or will return. Though this doesn’t happen often, there’s little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, unless you always check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML publishing alternative barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I enjoy consistency in my applications if it is a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too easy, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that can be more economical upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the service, so at least you do not have to commit to a costly plan right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say , and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the main service, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack quality that allows you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I believe they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate sections. Clickfunnel Dashboard
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a one.
If you duplicate a page and make changes to the copy, the divide test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your traffic that you need to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s quite easy to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the basic features were fairly great.
There are a number of kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented into several kinds of companies, and also you can obviously build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
However, are products, or such features? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All innovative funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You can watch the complete list of features, along with Full Package features, here. If you are in a position where you can manage to try Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I do not think you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge advantage that you can not do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ most important feature, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I think a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather a range of templates with good designs, though as you can expect, only the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, you can toggle with fundamental settings and open from the editor.
Once you open your pages from the editor, you will basically be working with a drag and drop builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still user friendly.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these parts as fitting within every other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that make your page interactive and go columns.
It may sound complicated, but it is pretty simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it’s a part, however if I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I do not believe this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you can add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations easily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click on the one you want and add it. Clickfunnel Dashboard
The process for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process pretty simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run and you don’t have to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its simplicity of use–because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save time and money. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. If you’re really behind, pick up the books mentioned previously in the review of Russell Brunson.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will require a little bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it’s things you can figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it probably won’t be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would suggest all prospective users input with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the maximum use from it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and those that offer B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with people offering more ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these businesses: for example, if you are a florist, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything there could be great support too. The same goes for people selling content such as books or courses.
Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller business, okay with the price , and you need to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is still adequate, although just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a series of classes, each with their own posts. It might be simple, but it’s not too shabby. Clickfunnel Dashboard
As for the customer service, they’ve a feature within the dashboard after you log into, but I am not overly delighted with it. They’ve generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that kind of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in instances when features have not worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer service representatives were allegedly either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his customers were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer support, he discovered that they were unhelpful and apathetic. It illustrates the point, although it may be a scenario.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Perhaps users, myself included, wouldn’t say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets. Within this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the overarching verdict? It is fine! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: you may want to look into third party options you can tie together If you want a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let other advantages like superior templates, integrations that are solid, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are significantly less. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of users, the page builder offers enough choice. If you’re looking for an sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not attained its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I am giving it 4/5 stars.
