What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just 3 years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complicated marketing technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other advertising experiences. He played around with email advertising for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two novels his fans rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Clickfunnel Builder
ClickFunnels started out as a way to help Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be useful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes people who don’t know you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to guide a website visitor into the checkout page.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or website traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical store, that’s like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without purchasing anything. You can talk your clients. In a store that is digital, you may be a bit more distant from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to appeal to your clients’ . The funnel works step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a page.
You are correct, if you feel this sounds cool –it has turned into a huge deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did not only get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energy–to do what demands a lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning money for your consumer. They make it put your content up, quite simple to make your account, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty easy to pick everything up–it will likely take you a couple hours to find out a lot of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it is to duplicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important feature, and they have pulled it. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder once you become accustomed to it.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you need to do is duplicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of your visitors that you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
Overall, it is great to have things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Clickfunnel Builder
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packaging great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they would have if they tried to handle funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has a number of places that need work.
A little drawback is the cost. There are only two pricing options, at $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not like I have mentioned another investment in your business, and a massive drawback, you receive a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they will not be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of the product but I take a slight problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a great marketing for sure. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the objective features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be missing and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll find yourself purchasing online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they made and flashing their sport cars. Though these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they’re more focused on making quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, along with other spammy internet marketer stuff.
We know the creator is a marketing but so much of this product is tied into his philosophy and his brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when a few aspects of their merchandise (i.e., customer support ) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many people use designs. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t occur frequently, there’s little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always wait or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML publishing alternative barring uptime, I deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my software, especially if it’s a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that can be cheaper upfront and give more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use package of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you do not need to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit hefty huh? Well, some might say so, and I could see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 a month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level account and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal service, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature that allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Package, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to watch the complete official record .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe that they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Clickfunnel Builder
A/B split testing is definitely, although a smaller feature a noteworthy one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test essentially lets you choose what percentages of your traffic that you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is simple to use and a fantastic function.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the basic features were pretty good.
There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of companies, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only take a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my view, Total Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
However, are such features, or products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase pages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may view the full list of features, along with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a situation where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t think you’d wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can’t do without themfor many users, simply StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ main feature, so I wanted to devote attention to it. In reality, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with good layouts, though as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel type, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty simple to find them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings that are fundamental and open from the editor.
Once your pages start in the editor, you’ll essentially be working with a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four chief components: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these components as fitting within each other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Basically: elements, columns, and rows go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go columns and also make your page interactive.
It might sound complicated, but it’s rather easy to get the hang of. Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it is a part, however when I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. I personally don’t believe this is a huge issue and the builder provides you sufficient hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, simply click the one. Clickfunnel Builder
The process for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you might need to check your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of adding and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part different from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations normally run smoothly and you don’t have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say that the learning curve would be only a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson if you behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it seems to me like most queries should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to determine by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all prospective users input with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will get the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a businesses over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as courses or books.
Obviously, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you need to make your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but still sufficient. Their page includes a collection of categories, each with their own posts. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be simple. Clickfunnel Builder
As for the direct customer assistance, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard once you log in, but I am not delighted with it. They have been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. In instances when features have not worked if there were bizarre site malfunctions or as promised, customer support reps were allegedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only content. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer support. It illustrates the point, although it may be a scenario that is weird, improbable.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team understand that their services are not perfectly easy to use and/or involve tools fresh for their users, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re fairly responsive. Perhaps consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum which makes it at least good enough. Within this class, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the conclusion that is overarching? It’s fine! It is a legitimate competitor in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you may want to check, Should you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with higher customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone advantages such as strong integrations the learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are less. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, choice is offered by the page builder. If you are looking for an easy but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t reached its popularity on empty promises, and that I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
