ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complex marketing technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email marketing for a while, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets, two books and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets his fans rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Click Funnels Wufoo Form
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t know you and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps designed to direct a website visitor.
There’s a method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call web traffic or website visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors doesn’t turn . In a physical store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can speak your customers. In a digital store, you may be a bit more distant from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works step-by-step, bring traffic in closer and closer till people wind up in a page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you’re correct –it’s turned into a massive deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did become rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save you time and energyto do what requires a lot of competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money for your user. They make it put your content up, quite easy to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s rather easy to select up everything –it will likely take you a couple hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a feature, and they have pulled it. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder once you get used to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the visitors you wish to view version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is great to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You can be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re allowed for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full suite might not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Wufoo Form
ClickFunnels is not perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have when they tried to handle funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few places that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing options, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your organization, a massive drawback, and like I’ve mentioned, you get a package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental questions, but if you inquire harder things, particularly about more innovative features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but that I take a slight problem with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype. They have a great advertising. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to examine the purpose features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This means you’ll find yourself buying online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and posts is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Although these numbers are real, the consumers provide an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick money instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy online marketer stuff.
Most of us know the creator is a marketing magician, but much of this product is tied to his doctrine and his brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything around it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult to not get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when some elements of their product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more about the neighborhood. While you have the capability to personalize broadly within ClickFunnels, many men and women use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y looks floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or driving traffic to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait till you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option, barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency within my software, especially if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the support , in order you do not have to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say so, and I could see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of this ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I think that they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Click Funnels Wufoo Form
A/B split testing is a more compact feature, but definitely a one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the split test basically lets you select what percentages of the traffic you need to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s simple to use and a function.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I believed the basic features were fairly great.
There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of businesses, and also you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more effective.
However, are such attributes, or separate products? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a bit perplexing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to afford to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing sales, I do not think you would wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor many users, just StartUp will offer a comprehensive enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ feature, so I wished to devote attention. In reality, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather a range of templates with great layouts, though as you may expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can also save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it is rather simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings and open from the editor.
You will essentially be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages start in the editor. It is a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these parts as fitting inside each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the lively bits that make your page interactive and go within columns.
It might sound complicated, but it is rather simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it is a part, but if I had been hovering over a component, it would be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it is–you have to work within those rows and columns. Personally, I don’t think this is a huge issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. By way of example, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has quite a few partners you may add to your integrations easily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It, simply click the one. Click Funnels Wufoo Form
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you might have to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the process pretty simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of incorporating and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part separate from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all of these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations usually operate smoothly and you do not have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of usage –as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that allow the less experienced save money and time. That being the case, assessing ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve could be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you are actually behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it is things you can determine by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely will not be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I would suggest all potential users enter with some basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience ) will find the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services would most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does innovative products or ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for instance, if you are a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be great support also. The same goes for people selling content like publications or courses.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you have to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a much better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although only for SaaS companies. Their docs page includes a series of classes. It might be simple, but it’s not too shabby. Click Funnels Wufoo Form
As once you log in for the customer service that is immediate, they have a chat feature within the dashboard, but I’m not too pleased by it. They have generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they took three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that kind of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In instances when features have not worked if there were site malfunctions or as promised, customer support representatives were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. When he contacted customer service, he found they were unhelpful and apathetic. It might be a scenario, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team mostly understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools fresh to their users, and they have put resources in their support to make it adequate. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe consumers, myself included, wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it mostly meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching verdict? It’s good! It is a legitimate competitor in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: Should you need a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization skills that are greater, you might want to check. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service agents, or any glitches in the program. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering all, I do not think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional positives like strong integrations the short learning curve, and templates that are good.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be helpful for significantly less entrepreneurs. I’m pretty certain that for the huge majority of prospective users, the webpage builder provides choice. If you’re looking first and foremost to get an sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. On promises, it hasn’t reached its popularity after all, and that I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
