ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just 3 years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complex marketing technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his creation, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played with email advertising for a while, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Expert Secrets that his lovers rave that guide and about people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website . Click Funnels White Board
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would usually take months. They had good potential as a product and soon realized their creation would be useful to other people.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not know you and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures designed to guide a web site visitor to the checkout page.
There’s a dull way of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you telephone web traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical shop, that’s like people walking in to your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your customers. In a shop that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up at a payment page.
You’re correct if you think that sounds cool –it has become a huge bargain for internet advertising. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save you time and energyto do exactly what otherwise demands a lot of competence and/or an array of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money for the user. They make it put your content up, simple to produce your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather easy to pick up everything –it’ll probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I like how simple it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their page builder is a attribute that is pretty important, and they have pulled it. As soon as you get accustomed to it, it is an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of your visitors you wish to view version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, using over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it is good to have things so centralized: I will build my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are allowed for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full suite may not be too much to ask. Click Funnels White Board
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they tried to manage funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s quite a few areas that need work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 a month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a drawback another investment in your business, and like I’ve mentioned, you receive a good package for it.
Lackluster Client Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been fine with fundamental questions, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Creator
This is not an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They have a advertising for sure. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to look at the purpose features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This usually means you’ll end up buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and posts consists of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more focused on making quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and specialists, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
So much of this product is tied to his doctrine and his brand, although we all know the creator is a marketing wizard. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few elements of the product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more about the neighborhood. As you have the ability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many people use designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some mistakes. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a couple of hours, you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone webpages using the HTML printing option barring uptime, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency in my applications, particularly if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms have a tendency to refer to home improvement approaches which may be more economical upfront and give more control over managing certain details. But for less experienced users that are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing programs –StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 per month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to try out the support , in order you don’t have to commit to a costly program right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some would say , and that I can see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. But it is necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration and a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with some limitations on the amount of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the full list of features.
However, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics along with Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the differences, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and give you a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them different segments. Click Funnels White Board
A/B split testing is a smaller feature, but unquestionably a noteworthy one.
If you duplicate a webpage and also make changes to the copy, the split test basically enables you to select what percentages of your traffic that you need to view per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very conveniently. It’s a function and easy to use.
In addition, I think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be easy to use, I believed the basic features were pretty good.
There are quite a few types of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of companies, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will just take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my opinion, Full Suite is three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an e-mail or just an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
But are these attributes, or products that are separate? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- unlimited contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Unlimited members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You may view the full list of features, together with complete Package attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy method of increasing earnings, I do not believe you would find yourself shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without themfor most users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote special attention. In fact, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it turned into a really solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this landing page builder.
Anyway, there is rather an array of templates with great layouts, though as you can expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s rather simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with fundamental settings and open from the editor.
You’ll basically be working with a drop and drag builder once your pages open from the editor. It’s a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and components. Consider these components as fitting inside each other (this article includes a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns especially go into rows. This way you can have up to four, or a row with one column. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive and go inside columns.
It might sound complex, but it’s rather simple to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box since it’s a section, but when I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you have to work within those rows and columns. Personally, I do not think this is a huge issue and the builder provides you sufficient hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you can add to your integrations readily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they will come up. It is pretty self-explanatory, just click the one. Click Funnels White Board
The procedure for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. Overall, you’ll find the process simple. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is pretty easy–so long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations run smoothly and you do not have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, assessing ease of usage is pretty important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve could be only a few hours max. If you behind, pick up Russell Brunson’s books mentioned in the critique.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it appears to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the actual funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters often, but it likely will not be sufficient to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (speaking from experience here) will find the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to a companies more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and those that offer B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these industries: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support too. The same holds for people selling content such as courses or books.
Of course, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t think you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you have to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who would like to maintain a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their page has a collection of categories. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it might be easy. Click Funnels White Board
As after you log in for the direct customer assistance, they have a feature within the dashboard, but I am not overly delighted with it. They’ve generally been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more complex questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when attributes have not worked as promised or when there were bizarre site malfunctions, client service reps were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It may be a unlikely situation, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools fresh to their customers, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are fairly responsive. Perhaps users would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a minimum which makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict that is overarching? It is fine! It is a legitimate contender in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a couple drawbacks: Should you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with higher customization skills, you may want to check. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of them outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone positives such as integrations that are strong, the learning curve, and templates that are superior.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty certain that for the majority of prospective users, the webpage builder provides enough choice. If you are looking first and foremost for a simple but powerful sales solution or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. After all, it has not reached its popularity on promises, and that I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
