ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using differently complicated marketing technology, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous as his invention, and for good reason. He’s made a fortune, not only from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played around with email advertising for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets his fans rave about and that guide people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website here. Click Funnels Order Summary
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as developing funnels would normally take months. But they soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people and had good potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not understand you and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures designed to direct a web site visitor.
There’s a less boring way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, a lot of your visitors still doesn’t turn into clients. In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a store, you can talk your clients into purchasing something. In a store that is digital, you may be a bit more remote from your customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer until visitors wind up in a payment page.
You are right if you feel that sounds cool –it’s turned into a massive deal for marketing. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energyto do exactly what demands a lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making your consumer money. They make it put your content up, easy to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s rather simple to pick up everything –it’ll probably take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you need, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it’s to replicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it off nicely. It is an builder, As soon as you become accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great too. All you need to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the traffic that you want to view version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you add ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress website. It saves a lot of time and is a lot less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it is great to have things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on programmers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered accounts is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp accounts is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the full package might not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Order Summary
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a hassle they’d have when they tried to handle funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has a number of areas that require work.
A drawback is the price. There are two alternatives, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not like I’ve said another investment in your organization, and a massive drawback, you get a fantastic package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond that, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with basic queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they will not be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but that I take a slight issue with their marketing that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype. They have a fantastic advertising. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you may attempt to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This means you’ll end up purchasing online courses, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and many articles consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
Most of us know the founder is a marketing but much of the product is tied to his doctrine and his brand. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when some aspects of the product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more on the community. As you’ve got the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, many people use layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will go down. Though this really doesn’t occur frequently, there is little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a great deal in advertising or driving visitors to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you may potentially lose a lot of cash.
In addition, it is difficult to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly check or wait till you hear from angry customers. Barring bandwidth, I deal with some glitches when I clone webpages using the HTML publishing alternative.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices change, etc–and it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency within my applications, especially if it is a business alternative.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it is too simple, and too expensive for its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to home improvement approaches which can be more economical upfront and yield more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also get a 14 day free trial to test the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to an expensive plan straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. But it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level account and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just some of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, and custom domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Package, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the complete official list .
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe that they’re strong and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Click Funnels Order Summary
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the copy, the split test basically enables you to select what percentages of your traffic that you want to view per page, letting you test conversion rates very conveniently. It’s quite simple to use and a fantastic function.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into different kinds of businesses, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only have a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), a tool supposed to make managing an affiliate program simpler and more efficient.
However, are such features, or products that are different? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but maybe I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- unlimited contacts
- 3 habit domains
- A/B split evaluations
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per form
You may view the full list of features, together with complete Suite attributes, here. If you are in a position where you are able to manage to try Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can’t do without them: for most users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wanted to devote attention. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction applications and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s rather a range of templates with good layouts, though as you can expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around is not too hard.
You might also save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. As you can see, you open in the editor and can toggle with settings.
When you start your pages from the editor, you be working using a drag and drop builder. It is a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor uses a page structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Think of these components as fitting within every other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of sections. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or up to four. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive to its customers and go within columns.
It might sound complicated, but it is rather easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it’s a part, however when I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A small criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. I personally do not believe this is a huge problem and the builder gives you sufficient hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few noteworthy partners you may add to your integrations easily. Here’s a full list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, just click the one you desire and add it. Click Funnels Order Summary
The procedure for handling integrations is also simple, though you may need to look at your third party program’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have a very straightforward method of incorporating and handling integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part separate from integrations. They may be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store won’t really be much of a shop unless you are using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is pretty simple –as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations normally operate and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools which enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the case, evaluating ease of use is really significant.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say that the learning curve would be just a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you’re really behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me as if most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings involving email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to really code the funnels–it is stuff you’ll be able to determine by Googling about or seeing the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it probably won’t be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I would suggest all potential users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and those offering B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does well with those offering more products or ventures. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for example, if you are a florist, you might find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel for a good method of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there could be support too. The same holds for people selling content like classes or publications.
Obviously, you can always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller business, okay with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time with ClickFunnels. I would especially recommend it to anybody who wants to maintain a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for getting decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is sufficient, although barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their page includes a series of classes, each with their own posts. Content-wise it isn’t too shabby, although it may be easy. Click Funnels Order Summary
As for the customer service, they have a feature inside the dashboard after you log into, but I am not overly pleased by it. They’ve generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. In instances when attributes have not worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client service representatives were allegedly unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, due to site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. After he contacted customer service, he found that they were unhelpful and apathetic. It may be a situation that is bizarre, unlikely, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think the team understand that their solutions are not simple to use and/or demand tools new to their customers, and they’ve put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Maybe most consumers would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it largely meets a bare minimum that makes it at least great enough. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is fine! It is a legitimate competitor in the advertising program area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: Should you want a more solution to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are greater, you might want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to tie. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service agents, or some glitches in the program. You might also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of them outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone positives such as the learning curve, solid integrations, and superior templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be useful for internet-exposed entrepreneurs that are less. I’m pretty certain that for the vast majority of users, the page builder provides choice. If you’re looking first and foremost for an sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. It has not attained its popularity on promises, and that’s why I am giving it 4/5 celebrities.
