What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using differently complex marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets and Secrets, two books his fans rave about and that guide people through his marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Click Funnels Mastermind
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his team create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as creating funnels would usually take weeks. However, they had great potential as a product and soon realized their production would be helpful to others.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who do not know you personally and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to guide a web site visitor.
There is a dull way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or site visitors. Your site visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your customers. In a shop, you could be a bit more distant from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw visitors in closer and closer till people wind up at a payment page.
You’re right, if you think this sounds cool –it’s turned into a huge bargain for marketing. Russell Brunson did get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it as well.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energyto do exactly what demands a lot of technological proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
One of the greatest things about ClickFunnels is the focus on earning the user money. They make it put your content up very easy to produce your account, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty simple to select up everything –it will probably take you a couple hours to figure out most of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I like how easy it’s to replicate pages, and the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute, and they have pulled it. As soon as you get accustomed to it, it is an builder.
Built in A/B testing is great. All you have to do is replicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of the traffic that you want to see variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are easy to manage.
You will also find a handy WordPress plugin which allows you add ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
In general, it’s good to get things so centralized: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and order forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All of this really does save you time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You may rest assured that the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the complete package may not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Mastermind
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packing good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have when they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of areas that require work.
A little drawback is the cost. There are just two pricing alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t just another investment in your organization a drawback, and like I have said, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Service
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental queries, but if you ask them more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of their merchandise but I take a small problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a marketing. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to examine the purpose features of the software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This usually means you’ll end up buying online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and many articles is composed of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the users provide an impression that they are more concentrated on earning quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, on line courses, saturation of trainers and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
Much of the product is tied to his doctrine and his own brand, although we know the founder is a marketing wizard. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems to be an extension of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, particularly when a few elements of the merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you’ve got the ability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating about. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or encounter some mistakes. Though this doesn’t happen frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also difficult to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML printing alternative barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing options change, etc–and it appears ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.
I like consistency in my software, particularly if it is a business solution.
At length, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use bundle of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, so at least you don’t have to commit to an expensive program straight away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a bit huh? Well, some would say so, and that I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. However, it’s important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly great job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a full list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your clients cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Full Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could really clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp essentially carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I believe they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate sections. Click Funnels Mastermind
A/B split testing is a smaller feature, but unquestionably a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the split test basically enables you to select what percentages of the traffic that you need to view per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It is a function and simple to use.
I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among some criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be simple to use, I thought the fundamental features were pretty good.
There are a number of types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of businesses, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or only an auto-responder, but it is a bit more complex. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics which result in clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.
However, are such attributes, or products? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels trying to market a iffy email auto-responder for me, but perhaps I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Complete Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per form
You may watch the full list of features, together with Full Suite features, here. If you’re in a position where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing sales, I do not believe you’d wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge benefit that you can’t do without themfor most users, just StartUp will offer a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wished to devote attention. In reality, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it turned into a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly for this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there’s rather a range of templates with great layouts, however as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and make personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with settings and open in the editor.
When your pages start in the editor, you’ll basically be working using a drop and drag builder. It is a little more complex than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these components as fitting within each other (this article has a very helpful diagram). Basically: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have several segments per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns especially go into rows. This way you may have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the dynamic bits that make your page interactive and go columns.
It might sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang of. What’s color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it is a part, however when I had been hovering over an element, it would be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have ) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within those rows and columns. I personally do not think this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can search for these or just click the search bar, and they will come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, simply click on the one you want and insert it. Click Funnels Mastermind
The process for handling integrations is also straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll find the process straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some features, like the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of adding and managing integrations.
Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become incorporated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be what they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations operate and you do not have to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its simplicity of usage –because their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, assessing ease of use is really important.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a few hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned in the review of Russell Brunson, if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you could always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang . The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to control. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it’s stuff you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it probably will not be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all prospective users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who is ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use out of it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does innovative products or individual ventures. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you’re a gentleman, you may come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything there would be support too. The same goes for individuals selling content such as courses or books.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only in their default funnel kinds. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to make your traffic work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for getting adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is adequate, although just for SaaS companies. Their page has a collection of categories. It may be easy, but content-wise it’s not too shabby. Click Funnels Mastermind
As for the customer assistance, they have a feature inside the dashboard once you log in, but I’m not delighted with it. They’ve generally been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I have found them pretty unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing question, they required three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when attributes haven’t worked as promised or when there were weird site malfunctions, client support reps were either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. After he contacted customer service, he found that they were unhelpful. It may be a scenario that is bizarre, improbable, but it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think the team largely understand that their solutions are not absolutely easy to use and/or demand tools fresh to their customers, and they have put enough resources in their support to make it decent. At least basic questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Perhaps consumers wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
Therefore, what’s the verdict that is overarching? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, there are a few drawbacks: you may want to check into third party choices you’ll be able to connect together Should you want a more answer to your marketing needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service agents, or some glitches in the software. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let other positives such as the learning curveintegrations, and good templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and reach higher conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be pretty helpful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty sure that for the majority of users, the page builder provides enough choice. If you are looking first and foremost to get a simple but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It has not reached its popularity on empty promises, and that is why I’m giving 4/5 stars to it.
