What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just three years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complicated advertising technologies, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but marketing adventures. He played with email advertising for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the author of DotCom Secrets and Expert Secrets, two novels that his lovers rave about and that guide people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Click Funnels How To
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as creating funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Function
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures developed to direct a web site visitor to the checkout page.
There is a dull way of thinking about it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is in fact a metaphor, and instead of real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you’ve got metaphorical ingredients you call web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical shop, that’s like people walking into your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without purchasing anything. In a store, you can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your customers. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to appeal to your clients’ . The funnel functions incremental, bring visitors in closer and closer till visitors wind up at a page.
You’re correct, if you feel that sounds cool –it has turned into a huge bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson did get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to help save you time and energyto do exactly what otherwise demands a whole lot of proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making the consumer money. They make it put your content up very easy to produce your account, and begin taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty easy to pick up everything –it will likely take you a couple hours to figure out a lot of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it’s to replicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute that is fairly important, and they’ve pulled it. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder once you become accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you need to do is duplicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of your traffic that you wish to see version A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that lets you insert ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress site. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in 1
Overall, it’s great to have things so concentrated: I will build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on programmers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You can be sure that the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. In case you’ve got more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the full package may not be too much to ask. Click Funnels How To
ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them accessible. It arguably conserves most users a hassle they’d have when they tried to handle funnels another way.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: although ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A small drawback is the cost. There are two alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your business a massive drawback, and like I have mentioned, you receive a good package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond that, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, especially about more advanced features, they won’t be quite beneficial.
Cult-like user base and software also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of the merchandise but I take a small problem with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it’s difficult to escape the hype. They have a fantastic marketing. But from a user experience perspective, it can get obtrusive. Once you register for the applications, you may attempt to examine the objective features of the software and integrate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you will end up purchasing online classes, publications, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most articles consists of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more focused on making quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing magician, but much of the product is tied to his doctrine and his brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when some elements of the product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the community. While you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, many people use similar designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large amount of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some mistakes or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or driving traffic to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing alternative barring bandwidth, I also deal with some glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I enjoy consistency within my applications if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with : it is too simple, and too pricey for its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try the service, so at least you do not need to commit to a costly plan straight away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Suite).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say so, and that I could see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ most important service is to earn funnels more efficient, and it does a pretty good job. I personally consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the complete list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B split tests, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite includes a full list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which lets you characterize a product as a one time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and custom domains; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you are confused with Etison/ Total Package, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the gaps, StartUp essentially conveys the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
How are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you need. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are good examples of this and are very important functions, so I will be giving them separate segments. Click Funnels How To
A/B split testing is definitely, although a more compact feature a noteworthy one.
If you replicate a webpage and also make changes to the backup, the divide test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of the visitors you need to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s a function and very easy to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be simple to use, I believed the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented into several types of businesses, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are such attributes, or products that are separate? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market a iffy email auto-responder to me, but perhaps I’m just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a little confusing and eliminates the coherency you get with the original ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Email integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale webpages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 billing integration per type
You may watch the full list of features, along with Full Package attributes, here. If you are in a situation where you can manage to try out Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, easy way of increasing earnings, I do not think you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack provide such a massive benefit that you can not do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will offer a thorough enough bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wished to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a high rating has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyway, there is quite a range of templates with good designs, however as you may expect, just the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create personal page templates, and it is pretty easy to find them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings that are fundamental and open from the editor.
You’ll basically be working with a drop and drag builder When your pages open in the editor. It’s a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting inside each other (this article includes a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: rows, columns, and elements go inside of sections. You can have multiple segments per page. Rows and columns move inside segments, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have a row with one column, or around four. Elements are the lively bits that go inside columns and make your page interactive to its customers.
It might sound complicated, but it is pretty easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a section, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you have to work within these columns and rows. Personally, I do not think this is a huge issue and the builder gives you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like advertising and marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and activities. For example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you may enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations section, you can look for these or just click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click on the one. Click Funnels How To
The process for managing integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to check your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward method of incorporating and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that allow your clients to pay for your stuff. Your shop will not really be much of a store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all of these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you are trying to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually run and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of use–because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve could be only a couple hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned previously in the review of Russell Brunson if you are really behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it may not be perfect, but it appears to me like most queries must be covered, and you could always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will require a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the amount of knowledge you would need to really code the funnels–it’s things you can figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at simplicity of use. It combines alternative and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all potential users enter with a few basic technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will get the most use from it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those offering B2B services will most likely be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does creative products or ventures that are individual. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those industries: for example, if you are a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you’re trying to center everything around yourself and your brand, there would be good support too. The same holds for individuals selling content such as courses or books.
Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only on their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price , and you need to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you would be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to maintain a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but adequate. Their page includes a collection of categories. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be simple. Click Funnels How To
As for the customer assistance that is direct, they have a feature inside the dashboard after you log into, but I am not too pleased with it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing query, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users won’t need that sort of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t provide that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when attributes have not worked as promised or if there were site malfunctions, customer service reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic when he contacted customer support. It may be a scenario that is unlikely, however it illustrates the point.
Overall Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their services are not perfectly simple to use and/or involve tools new for their customers, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it adequate. At least basic queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Most users, myself included, would not say ClickFunnels has customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum which makes it at least good enough. In this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It is fine! It is a legitimate contender in the marketing software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: If you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are higher, you might want to look into third party choices you’ll be able to connect. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself unlucky and end up dealing with customer service agents, or any glitches in the program. You could be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone additional positives like superior templates, integrations that are strong, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be quite helpful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty sure that for the vast majority of users, the webpage builder provides choice. If you are looking first and foremost to get an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. After all, it hasn’t reached its popularity on promises, and that is why I am giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
