What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to market things online using otherwise complex marketing technology, called sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He has made a fortune, but not only from ClickFunnels, but marketing experiences. He played around with email advertising for a while, and eventually started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is Expert Secrets and the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets his fans rave that guide and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Click Funnels Gym
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their creation would be useful to other people and had good potential as a product.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of measures designed to direct a website visitor.
There’s a method of thinking about it. Measure 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn many of your visitors . In a physical store, that’s like people walking in to your shop but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your clients into buying something. In a shop that is digital, you may be a little more distant from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till visitors wind up at a payment page.
If you think that sounds cool, you’re right–it’s turned into a huge bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson did not only get wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is meant to save time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of technological competence and/or a range of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Money
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning money for the user. They make it put your content up simple to produce your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty easy to select up everything –it will probably take you a few hours to find out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are extremely useful here. I like how simple it is to replicate pages, and the fact I will save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute that is fairly important, and they have pulled it off well. It is an easy to use drag and drop builder As soon as you get accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is excellent. All you have to do is duplicate a page, make your changes, and pick the amounts of the traffic that you want to view version A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You’ll also find a WordPress plugin which allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages. It saves a good deal of time and is a lot less of a hassle than working between ClickFunnels and WordPress with no plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin is also rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
Overall, it is good to have things so concentrated: I can construct my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really will save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to invest on developers, CSShosting configurations, etc.
You may be sure the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is really decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the full suite may not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Gym
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packing great tools together and making them accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they’d have when they attempted to manage funnels another way.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall strong, it has quite a few areas that need work.
A little drawback is the cost. There are two pricing alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 a month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a huge drawback, just another investment in your business, and like I have said, you receive a good package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with basic questions, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they won’t be very beneficial.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of their product but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a advertising for sure. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you register for the software, you may attempt to look at the objective features of this software and integrate it into your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and made to find out Russell Brunson’s marketing procedures.
This usually means you will find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and many posts is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on earning quick cash rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate quick rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.
Most of us know the founder is a marketing but so much of this product is tied into his philosophy and his brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s hard not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when a few aspects of their merchandise (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more about the neighborhood. While you have the capability to customize broadly within ClickFunnels, many men and women use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels encounter some mistakes or will return. Though this doesn’t occur often, there is little you can do but wait. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts down your pages for even a few hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of money.
It’s also difficult to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t always check or wait till you hear from angry clients. Barring uptime, I also deal with some glitches when I replicate pages using the HTML publishing option.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the stream of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options change, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, particularly if it’s a business alternative.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with personally: it’s too simple, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which can be cheaper upfront and give more control over handling certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test out the service, in order you don’t have to commit to a costly plan right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some might say so, and that I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that starts at $25 a month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly good job. I consider it a good investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main service, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of attributes, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality that allows you describe a product as a one time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this allows your customers cover a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is confusing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features overall? I believe they’re solid and you get whatever you need. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Click Funnels Gym
A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a notable one.
If you replicate a page and make changes to the backup, the split test essentially enables you to choose what percentages of your visitors that you want to see per page, allowing you examine conversion rates very handily. It is very simple to use and a function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and simple for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among some criticisms), but while the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I thought the basic features were pretty good.
There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of companies, and you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will just have a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Full Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The chief objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and a few other goodies. Together with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), a tool designed to make managing an affiliate system easier and more effective.
However, are these features, or products? Actionetics seems somewhat like ClickFunnels trying to market an iffy email auto-responder to me, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it gets Complete Suite a bit perplexing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 traffic
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Sales funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Purchase webpages
- Upsell pages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You may watch the complete list of features, along with Full Package attributes, here. If you are in a position where you are able to manage to try out Etison for a little and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple method of increasing sales, I don’t believe you would find yourself shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can’t do without themfor most users, simply StartUp will provide a thorough adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wanted to devote attention. In reality, I feel a huge portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top score has to do with it turned into a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is rather an array of templates with great designs, however as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.
You can also save certain templates and make own page templates, and it’s rather easy to see them. As you can see, it is possible to toggle with settings and open from the editor.
Once you open your pages you be working using a drag and drop builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it is still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting inside every other (this informative article has a very helpful diagram). Fundamentally: rows, columns, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or around four. Elements are the bits that go columns and also make your page interactive to its customers.
It may sound complex, but it is rather simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box since it is a section, but when I had been hovering over an element, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but do not have ) on the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these columns and rows. I personally do not believe this is a huge problem and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of use, but it might be worth a mention.
In general, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money online.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you may add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels since you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few notable partners you can enhance your integrations. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations section, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, just click on the one you want and insert it. Click Funnels Gym
The process for managing integrations can also be simple, though you might have to check your third party software’s documentation to find exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the process straightforward. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some features, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of adding and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part different from integrations. They may also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways are also what they sound like: they are the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a store unless you are using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing each of these integrations is pretty simple –so long as you are all set up with whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations usually operate smoothly and you don’t need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ main sell is its ease of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say that the learning curve could be just a few hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you’re really behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it comes to it.
All of that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere close to the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you can determine by Googling about or visiting the docs centre.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it probably won’t be enough to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with ease, and while I’d indicate all prospective users enter with some simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience ) will get the maximum use from it. There are variations in funnel types that appeal to some businesses more than others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network marketing, and those offering B2B services will most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does well with people offering more ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards those industries: for instance, if you’re a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you are trying to center everything on your own and your brand, there could be support too. The same holds for people selling content such as classes or books.
Of course, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you need to determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price , and you need to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who would like to keep a better landing page.
Client Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area which consists of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having adequate documentation on-site. I think their documentation is sufficient, although only barely industry-standard for SaaS companies. Their docs page has a series of classes. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be simple. Click Funnels Gym
As after you log into for the customer service, they have a chat feature inside the dashboard, but I’m not pleased by it. They’ve generally been useful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I’ve had more complex questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they took three months to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Most users will not require that sort of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer service. Notably, in cases when attributes haven’t worked if there were site malfunctions or as promised, customer support representatives were allegedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He discovered they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It illustrates the point, although it may be a bizarre, unlikely scenario.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think the team mostly understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools new to their customers, and they have put resources in their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Maybe consumers wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it largely meets. In this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the overarching conclusion? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate competitor in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: If you want a more solution to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are greater, you might want to look into third party options you can connect. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone positives such as strong integrations, the short learning curve, and good templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it easier for you to funnel traffic and reach conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be pretty useful for less internet-exposed entrepreneurs. I’m pretty certain that for the majority of potential users, enough choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you’re looking for an easy but solid sales solution or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a great tool. On empty promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that is why I’m giving it 4/5 stars.
