What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only three years it’s been, in the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here’s the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell stuff online using otherwise complicated advertising technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a second).
The creator of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing experiences. He played with email advertising for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets that his fans rave about and that guide people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Click Funnels Cost Per Month
ClickFunnels started out as a way to assist Brunson and his staff produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as creating funnels would usually take months. They soon realized their production would be helpful to other people and had great potential as a commodity.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a procedure that takes people who don’t know you personally and turns them to clients, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of measures developed to guide a web site visitor into the checkout page.
There is a less boring way of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you call internet traffic or site traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn into customers. In a brick and mortar shop, that is like people walking into your store but not knowing where the cash register is, so that they leave the shop without purchasing anything. You can speak your clients. In a store, you could be a little more remote from the visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ through principles of psychology. The funnel functions incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer until people end up at a page.
If you feel that sounds cool, you are right–it’s turned into a massive bargain for advertising. Russell Brunson did get rich by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it too.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some good information: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energyto do what otherwise demands a lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it put your content up simple to make your accounts, and start taking payments. Additionally, it’s pretty simple to pick up everything –it will probably take you a few hours to figure out most of what you need, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
Quite a few features are very useful here. I enjoy how easy it’s to replicate pages, and also the fact I will save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a pretty important attribute, and they have pulled it off well. Once you become used to it, it is an simple to use drag and drop builder.
Built in A/B testing is excellent too. All you need to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of the visitors that you want to view variant A or B.
Great selection of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are simple to control.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle compared to working between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin repository, with over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
In general, it’s great to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.
All this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You can rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, the complete suite might not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Cost Per Month
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a great job of packing great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have when they tried to manage funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I have some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that require work.
A small drawback is the price. There are two pricing alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t another investment in your organization a huge drawback, and like I have mentioned, you get a fantastic package for it.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been nice with fundamental queries, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This isn’t an objective criticism of the merchandise but that I take a small problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of their funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a great advertising for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. Once you sign up for the applications, you can try to look at the objective features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to find out Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you will find yourself purchasing online classes, books, attending seminars, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and many articles consists of people flashing their sports cars and bragging about how much money they created. Although these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they’re more concentrated on making quick cash rather than building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it has also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
So much of this item is tied into his doctrine and his own brand, although we know the creator is a marketing magician. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything around it seems like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
Sometimes it’s difficult not to get the feeling that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few elements of their product (i.e., client service) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels however more on the neighborhood. While you have the capability to customize within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use similar designs. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great amount of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some mistakes or will return. Though this really doesn’t happen frequently, there’s little you can do but wait patiently. If you’re investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your own funnels and a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, then you can potentially lose a lot of money.
In addition, it is hard to know if your pages are working or not, if you don’t constantly wait or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing option barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring things out.
I like consistency within my applications, particularly if it’s a business solution.
Finally, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with personally: it is too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an easy to use bundle of tools, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month and Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test the service, so at least you do not have to commit to an expensive plan right away. If you pay annually rather than monthly, you receive two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say , and that I can see why–especially if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 per month. However, it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The principal differences between an entry level consideration and a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the principal company, the funnel-builder, with a few limitations on the number of pages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and a few other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack quality which lets you characterize a product as a one-time payment product for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack feature, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); boundless funnels, pages, visits, and spiritual domain names; priority support and template requests; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the gaps, StartUp basically carries the core characteristic of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other services–Actionetics and Backpack–and also gives you the full set of ClickFunnels features. You can watch the full official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you want. They are largely intuitive and give you a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are good examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Click Funnels Cost Per Month
A/B split testing is definitely, although a smaller feature a one.
If you duplicate a webpage and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically lets you choose what percentages of the traffic you need to see per page, allowing you test conversion rates very conveniently. It is very simple to use and a function.
In addition, I believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and straightforward for other settings, such as your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but as the service is supposed to be simple to work with, I thought the fundamental features were fairly great.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just have a minute in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. Total Suite is just three products being packed together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it is what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complicated. The main goal of Actionetics is intelligent analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and a few other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate system simpler and more efficient.
But are products that are different, or such attributes? Actionetics sounds a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to sell a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but perhaps I’m just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Full Suite a little confusing and removes the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.
Here’s the full list of all StartUp features
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains
- A/B split tests
- Mail integrations
- Optin funnels
- All advanced funnels
- Revenue funnels
- Membership funnels
- Endless members
- Auto webinar funnels
- Hangout funnels
- Order webpages
- Upsell webpages
- Downsale pages
- Share your funnels
- 1 SMPTP integration
- 1 charging integration per type
You can watch the full list of features, together with Full Package features, here. If you are in a position where you can afford to try out Etison for a little and you absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I really don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will offer a thorough adequate bundle.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ most important attribute, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In fact, I think a large portion of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its funnel approach, but truth be told, I use it largely for this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you may expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are coordinated by funnel kind, therefore poking around isn’t too hard.
You can even save certain templates and also create personal page templates, and it is rather easy to see them. As you can see, you open in the editor and can toggle with settings.
You be working with a drop and drag builder once your pages open in the editor. It’s a bit more complex than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor utilizes a webpage structure with four chief parts: sections, columns, rows, and components. Think of these parts as fitting within every other (this informative article includes a very helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and elements go inside of sections. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors segments, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you may have a row with a single column, or up to four. Elements are the bits that make your page interactive to its customers and go columns.
It may sound complex, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang . What’s color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the selection is a mild green box because it’s a part, but when I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have ) about the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I do not believe this is a massive issue and the builder gives you sufficient control without sacrificing ease of usage, but it might be worth a mention.
I enjoy the page builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to earn money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few distinct kinds of integrations you are able to enhance your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding software and you’re registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you may add to your integrations readily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It’s pretty self-explanatory, just click the one you desire and insert it. Click Funnels Cost Per Month
The procedure for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you may need to check your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll discover the process pretty simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of adding and handling integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get integrated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they receive a part separate from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of store unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can include:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Managing all these integrations is pretty simple –as long as you’re all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to integrate with, you should not have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations usually run smoothly and you don’t need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
If you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ main market is its simplicity of use–because their ad says,”Do not waste any more time with’tech guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important service ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the case, evaluating ease of usage is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I would say the learning curve could be only a few hours maximum. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the critique of Russell Brunson, if you behind.
Anyhow, ClickFunnels is certainly easier than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it seems to me as if most queries should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center features of ClickFunnels–the real funnels–are fairly simple to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from picking templates into the drag and drop editor. Some settings regarding email integrations or payment processors will require a little bit of understanding, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s stuff you can determine by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly straightforward, but it is overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things frequently, but it likely will not be enough to hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I would indicate all prospective users enter with a few simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who really stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience ) will find the maximum use out of it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and even those that offer B2B services will probably be most fit for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does independent ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards these industries: for instance, if you’re a florist, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there would be good support too. The same goes for people selling content such as classes or publications.
Of course, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I don’t believe you should determine if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based only on their default funnel types. If you are a smaller business, alright with the price tag, and you need to make your traffic work for you , I doubt you would be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is an area that is composed of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I think their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their page includes a collection of categories, each with their own posts. It might be easy, but it’s not too shabby. Click Funnels Cost Per Month
As for the customer assistance that is immediate, they have a feature inside the dashboard after you log in, but I am not too pleased with it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more complex questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one special HTML publishing question, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t need that sort of support and to be honest SaaS companies don’t offer that level of support. So I give ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve noticed a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when attributes haven’t worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client service reps were allegedly unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained access to members-only articles. He found that they were unhelpful and apathetic, After he contacted customer service. It might be a bizarre, unlikely scenario, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I would not say ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I think that the team mostly understand that their services are not absolutely simple to use and/or involve tools new to their customers, and they’ve put resources into their support to make it decent. At least fundamental queries will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Most users, myself included, would not say ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it mostly meets a minimum which makes it at least good enough. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the verdict that is overarching? It’s fine! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising program space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: If you want a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization abilities that are higher, you may want to check. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or any glitches in the software. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let alone advantages such as good templates, integrations that are solid, and the learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its center goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel visitors and attain higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be quite useful for entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed that are significantly less. I am pretty sure that for the huge majority of prospective users, the page builder offers option. If you are looking first and foremost for an sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a great tool. It hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that’s why I’m giving it 4/5 celebrities.
