What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet marketing industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: This makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to sell things online using otherwise complicated marketing technology, known as sales funnels (more about those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as famous and for good reason. He’s made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but advertising adventures. He played with email marketing for some time, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Secrets his fans rave that direct and about people through his advertising and marketing methodologies. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website here. Click Funnels Careers
ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his team produce funnels more rapidly for different ventures, as developing funnels would usually take weeks. They soon realized their creation would be helpful to others and had good potential as a commodity.
What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us clarify what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes individuals who do not understand you and turns them to customers, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a series of steps developed to direct a web site visitor.
There is a boring way of considering it. Step 1: Imagine that a funnel. Step 2: Imagine this funnel is actually a metaphor, and instead of actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you telephone internet traffic or site visitors. Your website visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your website is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn . In a physical store, that’s like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the store without purchasing anything. In a store, you can talk your customers. In a store that is digital, you may be a little more distant from your visitors. This is where your funnel comes in–it is designed to attract your customers’ through principles of psychology. The funnel works step-by-step, bring visitors in closer and closer until people end up in a payment page.
You’re correct if you think this sounds cool –it’s turned into a massive deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did not only become wealthy by promoting ClickFunnels technology, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to save time and energyto do exactly what requires a whole lot of proficiency and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
One of the best things about ClickFunnels is its focus on earning the consumer money. They make it put your content up quite simple to produce your account, and start taking payments. Plus, it’s pretty simple to pick everything up–it’ll likely take you a few hours to figure out most of what you require, max.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I like how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their page builder is a feature that is fairly important, and they have pulled it. It is an builder, once you get accustomed to it.
Constructed in A/B testing is great. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and choose the numbers of your visitors you want to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I believe ClickFunnels manages API integrations well. Email autoresponders and payment processors aren’t too much of a sweat–they operate reliably and are simple to manage.
You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages to your WordPress website. It saves a good deal of time and is much less of a hassle than functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active setups.
All in 1
In general, it is great to have things so concentrated: I will construct my landing pages, create forms and order forms, and trigger emails all from 1 platform.
All this really will save you time and money, resources you would otherwise need to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, etc.
You may rest assured the lower-tiered accounts is a good investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. In case you have over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, then the complete package might not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Careers
ClickFunnels is not ideal, but it does a fantastic job of packaging great tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably saves most users a headache they would have when they tried to handle funnels another manner.
Cons: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of areas that need work.
A little drawback is the price. There are only two alternatives, at either $97 a month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this isn’t like I’ve mentioned , another investment in your organization, and a drawback, you get a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they’ve been fine with fundamental questions, but if you ask them harder things, especially about more innovative features, they will not be very helpful.
Cult-like user base and applications also reliant on Founder
This is not an objective criticism of their product but I take a slight problem with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They have a marketing for certain. But from a user experience standpoint, it can acquire obtrusive. When you sign up for the software, you may attempt to examine the objective features of this software and incorporate it into your own workflow, or you’ll be lost and made to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising procedures.
This means you’ll end up purchasing online classes, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over 100k associates and articles is composed of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they created. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more focused on earning quick money rather than building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped people do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online courses, saturation of trainers and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
We all know the creator is a marketing but so much of this item is tied into his brand and his philosophy. As much as I value the landing page builder, everything about it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s difficult not to get the sensation that ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than mandatory, especially when a few elements of their product (i.e., customer service) can still use some work.
This one is not on ClickFunnels however more about the neighborhood. As you have the capability to personalize within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use similar layouts. Considering the prevalence of ClickFunnels, this has led to a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y looks. Diversity is important.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a great deal in advertising or forcing visitors to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch brings your pages down for even a couple of hours, you can potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly check or wait until you hear from angry customers. When I clone pages using the HTML publishing option, barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes frequently, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options change, etcand it appears ClickFunnels is still figuring things out.
I like consistency in my software, particularly if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but do not quite agree with : it’s too easy, and too pricey because of its simplicity. These criticisms have a tendency to refer to do-it-yourself approaches that may be cheaper upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an simple to use package of resources, I wouldn’t emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather called ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes in at $297 a month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the service, so at least you don’t need to commit to a costly plan right away. Should you pay annually instead of monthly, you receive two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Full Suite).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some might say , and I could see why–particularly if you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service that begins at $25 a month. But it is important to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to earn funnels more effective, and it does a pretty good job. Personally, I consider it a fantastic investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium accounts are as follows: StartUp receives the principal company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the full list of features.
But, both programs have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all complex funnels, A/B split evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which lets you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this allows your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp has 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template requests; as well as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Total Suite, do not worry, it is confusing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the subsequent section of the ClickFunnels review.
To outline the differences, StartUp essentially carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which can be called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Package, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You are able to watch the complete official list here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ features complete? I believe that they’re strong and you get whatever you want. They are largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them different sections. Click Funnels Careers
A/B split testing is a feature, but definitely a notable one.
If you replicate a page and also make changes to the backup, the split test essentially enables you to select what percentages of your visitors that you need to see per page, letting you examine conversion rates very handily. It’s very simple to use and a function.
I also believe ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for other settings, like your account information or integrations. Maybe very tech literate people would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among a few criticisms), but as the support is supposed to be easy to use, I thought the fundamental features were fairly good.
There are quite a few kinds of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different types of businesses, and also you can of course build your own funnel from scratch too.
Actionetics and Backpack
I’ll just take a moment in this Clickfunnels Review to talk about Full Suite. In my view, Full Suite is just three products being packaged as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What is Actionetics? Well, it’s exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a bit more complex. The chief goal of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics comes Backpack (previously Backpack CRM), an instrument supposed to make managing an affiliate program simpler and more effective.
But are such features, or different products? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to sell a iffy email auto-responder for me personally, but maybe I am just cynical. In any case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and removes the coherency you get with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the Complete list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 habit domains

You can watch the complete list of features, together with complete Package features, here. If you’re in a position where you can afford to try Etison for a little and you absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing earnings, I don’t think you would wind up shorted. By that exact same token, I don’t think Actionetics and Backpack offer such a massive benefit that you can not do without them: for most users, just StartUp will offer a comprehensive adequate package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is probably ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wished to devote attention to it. In fact, I feel a large part of why I gave ClickFunnels a top rating has to do with it being a very good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page construction software and advertises its funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it mostly with this particular landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with good layouts, though as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around isn’t too hard.
You can also save certain templates and also create own page templates, and it is pretty simple to see them. As you can see, you can toggle with basic settings and open from the editor.
When you start your pages you be working with a drag and drop builder. It’s a little more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still user friendly.
The editor uses a page structure with four main parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting inside every other (this article has a helpful diagram). Basically: columns, rows, and components go inside of segments. You can have several sections per page. Rows and columns move indoors sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with a single column. Elements are the bits that go within columns and also make your page interactive to its visitors.
It might sound complex, but it’s pretty easy to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, from the above screenshot, the choice is a mild green box because it’s a part, but if I had been hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I have heard (but don’t have personally) about the builder is how grid-like it’s –you need to work within these columns and rows. I personally don’t think this is a massive issue and the builder provides you enough control without sacrificing ease of use, but it may be worth a mention.
Overall, I like the webpage builder a good deal. It makes designing your landing page very easy, and it serves ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you incorporate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you might add MailChimp to your ClickFunnels because you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are registered with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can enhance your integrations readily. Here’s a Complete list:
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to a integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click on the search bar, and they will come up. It, simply click on the one. Click Funnels Careers
The process for managing integrations is also straightforward, though you might have to look at your third party program’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. In general, you’ll find the process pretty straightforward. Integrations are a little more technical conceptually than a few features, such as the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very straightforward way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways become integrated and on other applications platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a part separate from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A list of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling each these integrations is fairly simple –so long as you’re all set up with whatever tool you’re trying to integrate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. These integrations normally run smoothly and you do not need to fret much.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by today, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its ease of use–because their advertisement says,”Do not waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools that enable the less experienced save money and time. That being the situation, evaluating ease of usage is really important.
Short answer: It’s easy to use, but you should still have some expertise.
Longer answer: For a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the area of e-commerce and marketing–but the learning curve is far from hopeless. For many people, I’d say the learning curve would be just a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned in the critique of Russell Brunson if you are really behind.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is certainly simpler than creating funnels all on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it may not be ideal, but it appears to me like most queries must be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core characteristics of ClickFunnels–that the real funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or charge processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it’s nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or seeing the docs center.
Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with ease, and while I’d indicate all prospective users input with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is concerned.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to reap the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some companies over others.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community advertising, and even those offering B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does individual ventures or products. The pre-made funnels are highly oriented towards those businesses: for example, if you are a gentleman, you may find the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good method of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything around yourself and your brand, there could be good support also. The same goes for people selling content such as classes or books.
Obviously, you can always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not think you should decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely on their default funnel types. If you’re a smaller company, okay with the price , and you have to produce your visitors work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who would like to maintain a better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I think their documentation is just barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but nevertheless sufficient. Their page includes a collection of categories, each with their own articles. It might be simple, however it isn’t too shabby. Click Funnels Careers
As after you log in for the customer service, they’ve a chat feature within the dashboard, but I’m not delighted with it. They have been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing query, they took to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not need that sort of support and to be honest SaaS businesses don’t provide that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. In cases when attributes haven’t worked when there were weird site malfunctions or as promised, customer support reps were either unhelpful or unresponsive. One infamous reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, some of his clients were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. When he contacted customer service, he found that they were unhelpful. It illustrates the point, although it might be a weird, improbable scenario.
Total Support Rating
I would not state ClickFunnels fails in customer support–I feel the team understand that their solutions are not easy to use and/or involve tools new for their users, and they have put enough resources into their support to make it decent. At least basic questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Most consumers wouldn’t state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum which makes it. In this category, we give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
What’s the conclusion that is overarching? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising software space and worth trying out.
Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: Should you want a more hands-on answer to your advertising needs with customization skills, you might want to look. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself unfortunate and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
However, you know what? Considering all, I don’t think any of these outweigh the good landing page builder, let alone advantages like templates that are good, integrations that are strong, and the short learning curve.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain conversion prices. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews admit it can be quite useful for less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I am pretty certain that for the majority of users, choice is offered by the page builder. If you are looking for a simple but powerful sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. On empty promises, it has not attained its popularity after all, and that I’m giving it 4/5 celebrities.
