What is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels began back in 2014, but in only 3 years it’s been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the online advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it easier for companies and entrepreneurs to market stuff online using otherwise complex advertising technologies, known as sales funnels (more on those in a second).

The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned as his creation, and for good reason. He has made a fortune, not just from ClickFunnels, but other advertising adventures. He played around with email marketing for some time, and eventually began to master sales funnels.

Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two books, and Secrets his lovers rave that guide and about people. You are able to pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his website here. Get Expert Secrets free on his website Click Funnels Blog Funnel

ClickFunnels started out as a means to assist Brunson and his staff create funnels more rapidly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take months. They had great potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people.

What Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work

Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let us explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it’s a process that takes people who do not know you personally and turns them to customers, aka a advertising funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to guide a website visitor.

There is a method of considering it. Measure 1: Imagine a funnel. Measure 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than actual ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients you call internet traffic or site traffic. Your site visitors are looking around, checking out things. Your site is beautifully built, and your content is top notch!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t turn a lot of your visitors into customers. In a physical store, that is like people walking into your store but not understanding where the cash register is, so that they leave the store without buying anything. You can talk your customers into buying something. In a digital store, you could be a little more remote from the customers. This is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your customers’ through fundamentals of psychology. The funnel works incremental, draw traffic in closer and closer till people wind up in a payment page.

You are correct, if you think this sounds cool –it has turned into a massive deal for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did get rich by selling ClickFunnels technology, but by using it as well.

Pros:  ClickFunnels Review

I’ve got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!

ClickFunnels is meant to help save you time and energy–to do exactly what requires a whole lot of competence and/or an array of third party software. In this regard, ClickFunnels succeeds.

Makes You Money

One of the best things about ClickFunnels is the focus on making your user money. They make it easy to produce your accounts, put your content up, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is pretty simple to select up everything –it will likely take you a few hours to figure out most of what you require, maximum.

Drag and Drop Builder

Quite a few features are extremely useful here. I like how easy it’s to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates for use again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute that is fairly important, and they have pulled it. As soon as you become used to it, it’s an easy to use drag and drop builder.

A/B testing

Constructed in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is duplicate a webpage, make your adjustments, and pick the amounts of your traffic you wish to see variant A or B.

Great selection of Integrations

I believe ClickFunnels handles API integrations . Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.

WordPress Plugin

You will also find a WordPress plugin which lets you add ClickFunnels pages. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a strong 4.4 stars from the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.

All in 1

Overall, it’s good to get things so centralized: I will build my landing pages, create forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from one platform.

All this really does save you time and money, resources you’d otherwise have to spend on developers, CSS, hosting configurations, and so on.

Reasonable Value

You can be sure the lower-tiered account is a good investment–what you are permitted for a StartUp accounts is really decent. In case you’ve got over 20,000 visitors and need over 100 pages, the full package might not be too much to ask. Click Funnels Blog Funnel

ClickFunnels isn’t ideal, but it does a great job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they’d have if they attempted to manage funnels another manner.

Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review

I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it has quite a few areas that need work.

A little drawback is the price. There are two pricing options, at either $97 per month or $297 per month. From the grand scheme of things, this is not just another investment in your business, a huge drawback, and like I have said, you get a package for it.

Lackluster Customer Service

Beyond this, customer support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with basic queries, but if you inquire harder things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be very beneficial.

Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator

This isn’t an objective criticism of their product but I take a slight issue with their marketing that I think is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.

If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it is difficult to escape the hype. They have a marketing. However, from a user experience standpoint, it can get obtrusive. When you sign up for the applications, you can try to look at the objective features of this software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’ll be missing and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.

This usually means you’ll find yourself buying online classes, books, attending conventions, and getting sucked to the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over members and most posts is composed of people bragging about how much money they created and flashing their sports cars. Though these numbers are real, the users give an impression that they are more focused on making quick cash instead of building great services and products. ClickFunnels has helped folks do good things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of trainers and experts, along with other spammy internet entrepreneurs stuff.

We all know the creator is a marketing wizard, but much of this product is tied into his philosophy and his brand. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it seems to be an expansion of Brunson’s platform.

Sometimes it’s difficult to not get the feeling which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, particularly when some elements of the product (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.

Too Templated

This one is not on ClickFunnels but more on the neighborhood. As you’ve got the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of men and women use designs. Considering the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has led to a great quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems. Diversity is important.

Software Outages and Bugs

Every now and then, ClickFunnels will go down or experience some errors. Though this doesn’t happen often, there is little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing traffic to your funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a lot of money.

It’s also difficult to know if your pages are functioning or not, if you don’t always wait or wait until you hear from angry clients. When I replicate webpages using the HTML printing alternative barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.

Users Experience Differs… a lot

The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new pages and funnels changes, a button will move around, pricing choices alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels remains figuring out things.

I enjoy consistency in my applications, particularly if it is a business alternative.

Too Straightforward

Finally, a criticism I have heard but do not quite agree with personally: it’s too simple, and too pricey because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be more economical upfront and yield more control over managing certain details. But for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficacy and an easy to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels includes two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, rather known as ClickFunnels and Full Suite–as well as StartUp begins on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 per month and Etison comes at $297 per month. For what it is worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to try out the service, in order you don’t have to commit to a costly plan right away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two weeks free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).

Nonetheless, a little hefty huh? Well, some might say so, and that I can see why–particularly in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a comparable (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which starts at $25 per month. However, it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more effective, and it does a fairly great job. I personally consider it a good investment.

The main differences between an entry level account along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp receives the principal company, the funnel-builder, with some constraints on the number of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and only some of the complete list of features.

However, both plans have unlimited connections, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide tests, and a few other commonalities.

Etison/Full Suite includes a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this is a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one-time payment product for your own payment gateways); subscription plans (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time obligations, this lets your customers pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with custom domain names; priority support and template asks; as well as Actionetics along with Backpack.

If you are confused with Etison/ Total Suite, don’t worry, it is perplexing. This part I believe ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail in the following section of this ClickFunnels review.

To outline the gaps, StartUp basically conveys the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Full Suite, on the other hand, packages the cornerstone tool ClickFunnels with two other providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels attributes. You can view the complete official record .

Features Overview:  Clickfunnels Review

Are ClickFunnels’ attributes overall? I believe that they’re strong and you get everything you need. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a fantastic amount of control. The template editor and integration management system are all great examples of this and are crucial functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Click Funnels Blog Funnel

A/B split testing is a feature, but unquestionably a one.

If you duplicate a page and make changes to the copy, the divide test basically enables you to select what percentages of your traffic you want to see per page, letting you test conversion rates very handily. It is a function and easy to use.

I also believe ClickFunnels is complete flexible and straightforward for other settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them prohibitive (a frequent theme among some criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the fundamental features were pretty great.

There are a number of kinds of accessible pre-made funnels, oriented to several types of businesses, and also you can obviously build your own funnel from scratch also.

Actionetics and Backpack

I have a minute within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. Total Suite is three products being packaged together as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.

What is Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an email auto-responder or just an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complex. The main goal of Actionetics is smart analytics that lead to clever auto-responding, but the auto-responding entails snail mail in addition to email, and some other goodies. Along with Actionetics includes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to make managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.

But are such features, or different products? Actionetics sounds somewhat like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder for me, but perhaps I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it makes Full Suite a bit confusing and eliminates the coherency you get together with the original ClickFunnels.

Here’s the full list of StartUp features
  • 20 funnels
  • 100 pages
  • 20,000 visitors
  • unlimited contacts
  • 3 custom domains
  • A/B split evaluations
  • Mail integrations
  • Optin funnels
  • ClickPops
  • ClickOptin
  • All innovative funnels
  • Sales funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Endless members
  • Auto webinar funnels
  • Hangout funnels
  • Purchase pages
  • Upsell pages
  • Downsale webpages
  • Share your funnels
  • 1 SMPTP integration
  • 1 billing integration per type

You may view the complete list of features, together with complete Suite features, here. If you’re in a position where you can manage to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely need an efficient, simple way of increasing sales, I don’t think you’d find yourself shorted. By that same token, I really don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack offer such a huge advantage that you can’t do without themfor most users, just StartUp will provide a comprehensive adequate package.

Clickfunnels Review:  Page Builder

This is ClickFunnels’ attribute, so I wanted to devote exclusive attention. In reality, I think a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a very solid landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building applications and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely with this particular landing page builder.

Anyway, there is quite an array of templates with great layouts, though as you can expect, just the templates created by ClickFunnels are free. Templates are organized by funnel kind, therefore poking around is not too hard.

You might even save certain templates and also create personal page templates, and it’s pretty easy to find them. You can toggle with fundamental settings and open from the editor as you can see.

When your pages open from the editor, you will essentially be working using a drop and drag builder. It’s a bit more complicated than some other mild page builders, but it’s still user friendly.

The editor uses a webpage structure with four main components: sections, columns, rows, and components. Consider these parts as fitting inside each other (this article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: columns, rows, and elements go inside of segments. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically go into rows. This way you can have a row with a single column, or up to four. Elements are the lively bits that go inside columns and make your page interactive to its customers.

It might sound complicated, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for instance, in the above screenshot, the choice is a light green box because it is a section, however when I was hovering over a component, it would be orange.

You could also edit section, row, column, and so on, via the side bar. All of the little details and parts of your page can be moved or altered. The editor allows for plenty of customization, but provides control that is good . You can do a variety of things–cellular previews, edit colours, text, settings, and just about anything you anticipate. If you are handy with code, then you may also add your own CSS, Javascript, and HTML.

A small criticism I’ve heard (but don’t have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it’s –you need to work within these rows and columns. Personally, I do not think this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I like the webpage builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page quite simple, and it serves ClickFunnels’ goal: to make it easier for you to earn money online.

Integrations:  ClickFunnels Review

Integrations are exactly what they sound like marketing tools you integrate in the ClickFunnels software. There are a few different types of integrations you can enhance your ClickFunnels accounts: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. By way of example, you may add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels because you enjoy MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you’re registered with them. Easy!

ClickFunnels has a few partners you may enhance your integrations easily. Here’s a list:

  • Active Campaign
  • Aweber
  • Constant Contact
  • Convertkit
  • Drip
  • GetResponse
  • GoToWebinar
  • GVO PureLeverage
  • HTML Form
  • HubSpot
  • InfusionSoft
  • Interspice
  • Mad Mimi
  • MailChimp
  • Maropost
  • Ontraport
  • SalesForce
  • Sendlane
  • ShipStation
  • Shopify
  • Twilio
  • Webinar Jam Studio
  • YouZign

If you go to your integrations segment, you can search for these or simply click on the search bar, and they’ll come up. It, simply click the one. Click Funnels Blog Funnel

The process for handling integrations can also be simple, though you might have to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover precisely what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure pretty simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than a few attributes, like the page builder, so it’s much appreciated to have a very simple method of adding and handling integrations.

Connected to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other software platforms are only called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They might also be known to ClickFunnels as charging integrations. Payment gateways will also be the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your clients to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be a lot of shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.

A list of the payment gateways you can add:
  • Stripe
  • Infusionsoft
  • Warriorplus
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Taxamo
  • Ontraport
  • Blue Snap
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Recurly

Managing all of these integrations is fairly easy–as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you are attempting to incorporate with, you shouldn’t have any problems adding it into ClickFunnels. In my experience, these integrations operate and you don’t have to fret much.

Ease of Use:  ClickFunnels Review

In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important market is its ease of use–as their ad says,”Don’t waste any more time with’tech men! ”’ As I’ve stated in this ClickFunnels review, the main service ClickFunnels provides is providing tools that enable the less experienced save time and money. That being the situation, assessing ease of usage is pretty significant.

Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some experience.

Longer answer: For a first-timer, it may be a little overwhelming–and from first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For most people, I’d say the learning curve could be only a couple hours max. Pick up the books mentioned earlier in the review of Russell Brunson, if you are actually behind.

Anyhow, ClickFunnels is unquestionably simpler than creating funnels on your own. They’ve a fair amount of documentation, and it might not be ideal, but it seems to me like most questions must be covered, and you can always contact a customer service representative if it comes to it.

All of that aside, some parts of ClickFunnels are rather easy to get a hang . The core features of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to control. A cohesive menu makes it easy to navigate into all sections of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates into the drag and drop editor. Some configurations regarding email integrations or payment processors will want a bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the amount of knowledge you would have to actually code the funnels–it is things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling around or visiting the docs centre.

Ultimately, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it’s overall compact with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change things often, but it probably won’t be enough to hamper you.

We give it a 4 out of 5 in ease of use. It unites choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d indicate all prospective users input with a few simple technological literacy, it basically succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.

Who is ClickFunnels for?

Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small companies and startups (talking from experience here) will find the most use from it. There are variations in funnel kinds that appeal to a companies.

Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, individuals exclusively in e-commerce or community marketing, and those that offer B2B services would probably be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels in general does independent ventures or innovative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a gentleman, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a fantastic method of marketing for you. If you are attempting to center everything there could be good support also. The same goes for people selling content such as courses or books.

Of course, you could always start from a blank funnel, and I don’t believe you need to decide if ClickFunnels is right for you or not based purely in their default funnel types. If you are a smaller company, alright with the price , and you have to make your visitors work for you , I doubt you’d be wasting your money or time using ClickFunnels. I would particularly recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a much better landing page.

Client Support:  ClickFunnels Review

ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place that is composed of some nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I believe their documentation is barely industry-standard for SaaS companies, but still sufficient. Their page has a collection of classes, each with their own articles. Content-wise it’s not too shabby, although it may be easy. Click Funnels Blog Funnel

As the immediate customer assistance, they’ve a feature inside the dashboard after you log into for, but I am not pleased with it. They’ve been helpful for simple questions and basic troubleshooting… but once I’ve had more advanced questions, I have found them fairly unhelpful. With one HTML publishing question, they took to get back to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users won’t require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS businesses don’t offer that degree of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.

Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences with customer support. In cases when attributes have not worked when there were site malfunctions or as promised, client service reps were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer particularly recounts how, due to site error, some of his customers were locked out and how other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only content. He found they were unhelpful and apathetic After he contacted customer service. It may be a situation, but it illustrates the point.

Total Support Rating

I would not state ClickFunnels fails in client support–I think that the team mostly understand that their solutions are not perfectly easy to use and/or involve tools new to their users, and they have put resources into their support to make it decent. At least questions will be answered, and they’re pretty responsive. Most consumers, myself included, would not state ClickFunnels has customer support, but it meets a bare minimum that makes it. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Conclusion:  ClickFunnels Review

Therefore, what’s the verdict that is overarching? It is fine –4 out of 5 stars! It’s a legitimate contender in the advertising software space and worth trying out.

Yeah, a couple drawbacks are: you may want to look into third party options you’ll be able to tie together, Should you need a more hands-on solution to your marketing needs with greater customization skills. If you are going with ClickFunnels after all, you may find yourself and end up dealing with customer service representatives, or some glitches in the software. You might be annoyed by their self-promotion.

However, you know what? Considering everything, I don’t think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let additional advantages like integrations that are strong, the learning curve, and templates that are good.

All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core objective–to make it easier for you to funnel visitors and attain conversion prices. Even negative ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be pretty useful for significantly less entrepreneurs. I am pretty certain that for the huge majority of users, choice is offered by the webpage builder. If you are looking first and foremost for an sales alternative or landing page editor, ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It hasn’t attained its popularity on empty promises, and that I am giving it 4/5 stars.
