What is ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels started back in 2014, but in just three years it has been, at the words of Forbes,”silently revolutionizing the internet advertising industry.” Here is the gist of ClickFunnels: It makes it much easier for businesses and entrepreneurs to sell things online using differently complicated marketing technologies, called sales funnels (more on those in a moment ).
The founder of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson, is as renowned and for good reason. He has made a fortune from ClickFunnels, but other marketing adventures. He played around with email advertising for a while, and started to master sales funnels.
Russell Brunson is the bestselling author of DotCom Secrets two novels, and Expert Secrets that his fans rave that guide and about people. You can pick up Dotcom Secrets free on his site here. Get Expert Secrets free on his own website . Click Funnel Steps
ClickFunnels started out as a means to help Brunson and his staff create funnels more quickly for distinct ventures, as creating funnels would normally take weeks. They had good potential as a commodity and soon realized their creation would be helpful to other people.
Which Are Funnels? How Sales Funnels Work
Before continuing with this ClickFunnels Review, let’s explain what a marketing funnel is. In marketing, it is a procedure that takes people who don’t understand you personally and turns them into clients, aka a marketing funnel. In e-commerce, a sales funnel is a set of steps developed to direct a website visitor.
There’s a boring method of considering it. Step 1: Imagine a funnel. Step 2: Envision this funnel is actually a metaphor, and rather than real ingredients to pour down the funnel, you have metaphorical ingredients that you telephone web traffic or website traffic. Your website visitors are looking around, checking things out. Your website is beautifully designed, and your content is top notch!
Unfortunately, many of your visitors still doesn’t turn into clients. In a physical store, that is like people walking into your shop but not understanding where the cash register is, so they leave the shop without buying anything. You can speak your clients into purchasing something. In a shop, you may be a little more remote from your visitors. That is where your funnel comes in–it’s designed to attract your clients’ . The funnel works step-by-step, bring visitors in closer and closer until visitors end up at a page.
If you think this sounds cool, you’re correct –it’s turned into a huge bargain for internet marketing. Russell Brunson did not just become wealthy by selling ClickFunnels technologies, but by using it.
Pros: ClickFunnels Review
I have got some great news: ClickFunnels does its job!
ClickFunnels is intended to help save time and energyto do what otherwise requires a lot of proficiency and/or a range of third party applications. In this respect, ClickFunnels succeeds.
Makes You Cash
Among the greatest things about ClickFunnels is its focus on making money. They make it put your content up easy to make your accounts, and begin taking payments. Additionally, it is rather easy to pick up everything –it’ll likely take you a couple hours to find out a lot of what you require, maximum.
Drag and Drop Builder
A few features are very useful here. I like how simple it is to duplicate pages, and also the fact I can save templates to be used again later. Their webpage builder is a attribute that is pretty important, and they have pulled it off nicely. As soon as you get accustomed to it, it is an builder.
Built in A/B testing is great too. All you have to do is replicate a page, make your adjustments, and pick the numbers of your visitors you wish to see variant A or B.
Great Choice of Integrations
I think ClickFunnels manages API integrations nicely. Email autoresponders and payment chips are not too much of a sweat–they work reliably and are easy to control.
You’ll also find a handy WordPress plugin that allows you insert ClickFunnels webpages to your WordPress site. It saves a lot of time and is much less of a hassle compared to functioning between ClickFunnels and WordPress without a plugin. The Clickfunnels WordPress plugin can be rated a solid 4.4 stars in the WordPress plugin , with over 20,000 active installations.
All in one
Overall, it’s great to get things so centralized: I can build my landing pages, produce forms and purchase forms, and activate emails all from 1 platform.
All of this really does save time and money, resources you would otherwise have to spend on developers, CSShosting configurations, and so on.
You may be sure that the lower-tiered account is a great investment–what you’re permitted for a StartUp account is pretty decent. If you have more than 20,000 visitors and want over 100 pages, then the complete suite may not be too much to ask. Click Funnel Steps
ClickFunnels isn’t perfect, but it does a fantastic job of packaging good tools together and making them more accessible. It arguably conserves most users a headache they would have if they attempted to manage funnels another manner.
Disadvantages: Clickfunnels Review
I’ve got some bad news: even though ClickFunnels is overall powerful, it’s a number of areas that require work.
A drawback is the cost. There are two pricing alternatives, at $97 a month or $297 per month. In the grand scheme of things, this is not like I’ve said a different investment in your business, and a drawback, you receive a package for this.
Lackluster Customer Support
Beyond this, client support is iffy at best. In my experience, they have been nice with fundamental questions, but if you inquire more difficult things, particularly about more advanced features, they won’t be quite helpful.
Cult-like user base and software too reliant on Creator
This isn’t an objective criticism of the product but that I take a small issue with their advertising that I believe is worth mentioning in this ClickFunnels Review.
If you get sucked into one of the funnels, it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding it. They’ve a fantastic advertising. However, from a user experience perspective, it can acquire obtrusive. Once you sign up for the software, you can try to look at the purpose features of the software and incorporate it in your own workflow, or you’re going to be lost and forced to learn Russell Brunson’s advertising methods.
This means you’ll find yourself purchasing online courses, publications, attending seminars, and getting sucked into the ClickFunnels”Cult-ure”. Their Facebook Group has over associates and most articles consists of people flashing their sport cars and bragging about how much money they made. Though these numbers are real, the consumers give an impression that they are more concentrated on making quick money instead of building great products and services. ClickFunnels has helped people do great things, but it’s also helped proliferate fast rich schemes, online classes, saturation of coaches and experts, and other spammy online entrepreneurs stuff.
We know the founder is a marketing wizard, but much of this item is tied to his brand and his philosophy. As much as I appreciate the landing page builder, everything about it looks like an expansion of Brunson’s platform.
At times it’s hard not to get the sensation which ClickFunnels spends more resources on self-promotion than necessary, especially when some elements of their merchandise (i.e., client support ) can still use some work.
This one isn’t on ClickFunnels but more about the community. While you’ve got the ability to customize extensively within ClickFunnels, a lot of people use layouts. Taking into consideration the popularity of ClickFunnels, this has resulted in a large quantity of ClickFunnel-y seems floating around. Diversity is vital.
Software Outages and Bugs
Every now and then, ClickFunnels experience some errors or will return. Though this really doesn’t occur often, there’s little you can do but wait. If you are investing a lot in advertising or forcing visitors to your own funnels along with a ClickFunnels’ glitch attracts your pages down for even a few hours, you may potentially lose a good deal of cash.
It’s also hard to know when your pages are working or not, unless you constantly wait or wait till you hear from angry clients. When I replicate pages using the HTML printing alternative, barring bandwidth, I deal with a few glitches.
Users Experience Differs… a lot
The dashboard changes often, the flow of creating new webpages and funnels changes, a button will proceed, pricing options alter, etcand it seems ClickFunnels is still figuring out things.
I like consistency within my applications, particularly if it’s a business solution.
At length, a criticism I’ve heard but don’t quite agree with : it is too simple, and too expensive because of its simplicity. All these criticisms tend to refer to do-it-yourself approaches which may be more economical upfront and yield more control over managing specific details. However, for less experienced users who are mainly seeking efficiency and an simple to use package of resources, I would not emphasize this too strongly.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans–StartUp and Etison Suite, alternatively known as ClickFunnels and complete Suite–and even StartUp starts on the pricier side. StartUp is $97 a month plus Etison comes at $297 a month. For what it’s worth, you also receive a 14 day free trial to test the service, in order you do not need to commit to a costly program straight away. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you get two months free ($997 for ClickFunnels and $2,997 for Total Package ).
Nonetheless, a little huh? Well, some would say so, and I could see why–especially in the event that you compare to LeadPages, a similar (overlapping, but definitely not identical) service which begins at $25 per month. But it’s necessary to keep in mind ClickFunnels’ main service is to make funnels more efficient, and it does a fairly good job. Personally, I consider it a good investment.
The main differences between an entry level consideration along with a premium account are as follows: StartUp gets the main company, the funnel-builder, with a few constraints on the amount of webpages (100), visits (20,000), custom domains (3), and just a number of the full list of features.
But, both plans have unlimited contacts, unlimited members, all advanced funnels, A/B divide evaluations, and some other commonalities.
Etison/Full Suite has a complete list of features, including the following: one-time payments (this can be a Backpack feature which allows you describe a product as a one-time payment merchandise for your own payment gateways); subscription programs (another Backpack attribute, but unlike one-time payments, this lets your clients pay for a subscription service); 3 SMTP integrations (StartUp includes 1); unlimited funnels, pages, visits, along with spiritual domains; priority support and template asks; also as Actionetics and Backpack.
If you’re confused with Etison/ Full Suite, do not worry, it is perplexing. This part I think ClickFunnels could clean up. We’ll go into more detail at the section of this ClickFunnels review.
To summarize the differences, StartUp basically carries the core feature of ClickFunnels, which is called (you guessed it!) ClickFunnels. Easy! Total Suite, on the other hand, packs the foundation instrument ClickFunnels with two additional providers –Actionetics and Backpack–and gives you the complete set of ClickFunnels features. You can view the complete official record here.
Features Overview: Clickfunnels Review
Are ClickFunnels’ attributes complete? I believe they’re solid and you get everything you want. They’re largely intuitive and supply you with a good amount of control. The template editor and integration management program are all good examples of this and are very important functions, so I’ll be giving them separate segments. Click Funnel Steps
A/B split testing is definitely, although a smaller feature a one.
If you replicate a webpage and make changes to the backup, the split test basically lets you choose what percentages of your traffic you need to view per page, allowing you test conversion rates very handily. It’s a great function and very easy to use.
I also think ClickFunnels is overall flexible and simple for different settings, like your account details or integrations. Maybe very tech literate individuals would find them restrictive (a common theme among a few criticisms), but while the support is supposed to be easy to work with, I thought the fundamental features were pretty great.
There are quite a few types of available pre-made funnels, oriented to different kinds of companies, and you can of course build your personal funnel from scratch also.
Actionetics and Backpack
I will only have a moment within this Clickfunnels Review to discuss Full Suite. In my opinion, Total Suite is three products being packed as one: ClickFunnels, Actionetics, and Backpack.
What’s Actionetics? Well, it is exactly what many would call an e-mail or only an auto-responder, but it’s a little more complicated. The main objective of Actionetics is smart analytics that result in smart auto-responding, but the auto-responding involves snail mail as well as email, and some other goodies. Together with Actionetics comes Backpack (formerly Backpack CRM), an instrument designed to create managing an affiliate program easier and more efficient.
However, are products that are different, or such attributes? Actionetics seems a bit like ClickFunnels attempting to market an iffy email auto-responder to me personally, but perhaps I am just cynical. Whatever the case, it gets Complete Suite a little perplexing and removes the coherency you get together with the first ClickFunnels.
Here is the full list of all StartUp attributes
- 20 funnels
- 100 pages
- 20,000 visitors
- boundless contacts
- 3 custom domains

You can watch the full list of features, along with complete Package features, here. If you’re in a situation where you are able to afford to try Etison for a bit and you also absolutely require an efficient, simple method of increasing earnings, I do not believe you would wind up shorted. By that same token, I don’t believe Actionetics and Backpack provide such a huge benefit that you can’t do without them: for most users, just StartUp will provide a thorough enough package.
Clickfunnels Review: Page Builder
This is likely ClickFunnels’ main attribute, so I wanted to devote special attention to it. In reality, I feel a huge part of why I gave ClickFunnels a high score has to do with it being a really good landing page builder. ClickFunnels distances itself from page building software and advertises its own funnel strategy, but truth be told, I use it largely for this landing page builder.
Anyhow, there is quite an array of templates with good designs, though as you can expect, only the templates made by ClickFunnels are liberated. Templates are organized by funnel type, so poking around is not too hard.
You might even save certain templates and create own page templates, and it’s pretty simple to find them. It is possible to toggle with settings and open from the editor as you can see.
You be working using a drop and drag builder When your pages open in the editor. It’s a bit more complicated than some other light page builders, but it’s still easy to use.
The editor utilizes a page structure with four chief parts: sections, rows, columns, and elements. Consider these parts as fitting within each other (this article has a helpful diagram). Fundamentally: elements, columns, and rows go inside of sections. You can have multiple sections per page. Rows and columns go inside sections, but columns specifically enter rows. This way you can have around four, or a row with one column. Elements are the lively bits that make your page interactive to its visitors and go inside columns.
It might sound complicated, but it’s pretty simple to get the hang . Everything is color-coded–for example, in the above screenshot, the selection is a light green box because it is a section, but if I was hovering over a component, it could be orange.
A little criticism I’ve heard (but do not have personally) on the builder is the way grid-like it is–you need to work within these columns and rows. Personally, I don’t think this is a huge issue and the builder provides you enough hands without sacrificing ease of usage, but it may be worth a mention.
In general, I like the page builder a lot. It makes designing your landing page very simple, and it functions ClickFunnels’ purpose: to make it easier for you to make money on the web.
Integrations: ClickFunnels Review
Integrations are exactly what they sound like: additional marketing tools you incorporate into the ClickFunnels software. There are a couple of distinct kinds of integrations you are able to add to your ClickFunnels account: email, webinar, SMS/text, and actions. For instance, you might add MailChimp for your ClickFunnels since you like MailChimp’s auto-responding applications and you are enrolled with them. Easy!
ClickFunnels has a few partners you can add to your integrations readily. Here’s a list:
- Active Campaign
- Continuous Contact
- GVO PureLeverage
- HTML Form
- Mad Mimi
- Webinar Jam Studio
If you go to your integrations segment, you can look for these or simply click the search bar, and they will come up. It, simply click the one. Click Funnel Steps
The procedure for handling integrations can also be straightforward, though you may have to look at your third party software’s documentation to discover exactly what ClickFunnels needs. You’ll discover the procedure simple. Integrations are a bit more technical conceptually than some attributes, such as the page builder, so it is much appreciated to have an extremely straightforward way of incorporating and managing integrations.
Related to integrations are payment gateways. Payment gateways get incorporated and on other software platforms are just called integrations, but on ClickFunnels they get a section different from integrations. They might be known to ClickFunnels as billing integrations. Payment gateways are also the things they sound like: they’re the integrations that enable your customers to pay for your stuff. Your store will not really be much of a shop unless you’re using a payment gateway.
A listing of the payment gateways you can add:
- Blue Snap
- Easy Pay Direct
Handling all of these integrations is pretty easy–as long as you are all set up using whatever tool you’re attempting to incorporate with, you should not have any problems adding it to ClickFunnels. These integrations usually operate smoothly and you do not need to fret much about them.
Ease of Use: ClickFunnels Review
In case you haven’t picked it up by now, ClickFunnels’ most important sell is its simplicity of usage –because their advertisement says,”Don’t waste any more time with’technology guys! ”’ As I’ve said in this ClickFunnels review, the most important ceremony ClickFunnels offers is providing tools which allow the less experienced to save money and time. That being the situation, assessing ease of use is pretty significant.
Short answer: It’s simple to use, but you need to still have some expertise.
Longer answer: To get a first-timer, it might be a bit overwhelming–and by first-timer, I mean new to the world of e-commerce and promotion –but the learning curve is far from impossible. For many people, I would say the learning curve would be only a few hours max. If you are really behind, pick up the books mentioned previously in the critique of Russell Brunson.
Anyway, ClickFunnels is unquestionably easier than creating funnels on your own. They have a reasonable amount of documentation, and it might not be perfect, but it seems to me as if most questions should be covered, and you can always contact a customer support representative if it has to do with it.
All that aside, some pieces of ClickFunnels are pretty easy to get a hang of. The center characteristics of ClickFunnels–the actual funnels–are fairly easy to manage. A cohesive menu makes it effortless to navigate to all parts of your funnel managing process, from choosing templates to the drag and drop editor. Some configurations involving email integrations or payment processors will want a little bit of comprehension, but it is nowhere near the quantity of knowledge you would need to actually code the funnels–it’s things you’ll be able to figure out by Googling about or visiting the docs center.
Finally, ClickFunnels is not mind-blowingly simple, but it is overall streamlined with an intuitive user-interface. They do tend to change matters frequently, but it likely won’t be sufficient to significantly hamper you.
We give it a 4 out of 5 at ease of use. It combines choice and customizability with convenience, and while I’d suggest all potential users enter with some simple technological literacy, it essentially succeeds where user-friendliness is worried.
Who’s ClickFunnels for?
Who stands to benefit the most from ClickFunnels? Broadly speaking, small businesses and startups (talking from experience here) will get the maximum use out of it. There are naturally variations in funnel kinds that appeal to some businesses.
Consultants, speakers, coaches, professional service providers, people exclusively in e-commerce or network advertising, and even those that offer B2B services would most likely be most suitable for ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels generally does nicely with those offering more ventures or creative products. The pre-made funnels are oriented towards these businesses: for instance, if you’re a florist, you might come across the pre-made Daily Deal Funnel to be a good way of marketing for you. If you’re attempting to center everything there would be great support too. The same holds for people selling content such as courses or books.
Obviously, you could always start from a sterile funnel, and I do not believe you should decide if ClickFunnels is ideal for you or not based only in their default funnel kinds. If you’re a smaller company, alright with the price tag, and you need to produce your traffic work for you better, I doubt you’d be wasting your time or money with ClickFunnels. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to keep a much better landing page.
Customer Support: ClickFunnels Review
ClickFunnels’ customer support is a place which consists of a few nuances. I commend ClickFunnels for having decent documentation on-site. I think their documentation is just for SaaS companies, but still sufficient. Their docs page includes a series of classes, each with their own articles. It may be simple, but it’s not too shabby. Click Funnel Steps
As the immediate customer assistance, they have a feature inside the dashboard after you log in for, but I’m not overly pleased by it. They’ve been helpful for easy questions and basic troubleshooting… but when I have had more advanced questions, I’ve found them pretty unhelpful. With one specific HTML publishing query, they required three months to return to me. By then, I figured out a workaround. Users will not require that kind of support and to be honest, most SaaS companies don’t provide that level of support. So I provide ClickFunnels kudos for trying.
Furthermore, I’ve discovered a consistency among reviews pointing out bad experiences. Notably, in cases when attributes haven’t worked as promised or when there were site malfunctions, client support reps were supposedly either unresponsive or unhelpful. One notorious reviewer in particular recounts how, because of site error, a number of his clients were locked out and the way other non-paying visitors gained entry to members-only articles. After he contacted customer support, he discovered they were unhelpful. It may be a unlikely situation, but it illustrates the point.
Total Support Rating
I wouldn’t say ClickFunnels fails in client support–I feel that the team understand that their solutions are not absolutely simple to use and/or demand tools new to their users, and they’ve put enough resources in their support to make it adequate. At least questions will be answered, and they are pretty responsive. Perhaps most consumers, myself included, would not state ClickFunnels has exceptional customer support, but it meets a bare minimum that makes it at least great enough. We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Conclusion: ClickFunnels Review
So, what’s the verdict that is overarching? It is good–4 out of 5 stars! It is a legitimate contender in the marketing software area and worth trying out.
Yeah, a few drawbacks are: you may want to check If you need a more hands-on solution to your advertising needs with customization skills. If you’re going with ClickFunnels after all, you might find yourself and end up dealing with unhelpful customer service representatives, or some glitches in the program. You could also be annoyed by their self-promotion.
But you know what? Considering everything, I do not think any of these outweigh the solid landing page builder, let other advantages such as the learning curve, solid integrations, and templates.
All-in-all, ClickFunnels succeeds in its core goal –to make it simpler for you to funnel traffic and attain higher conversion rates. Even unwanted ClickFunnels reviews acknowledge it can be useful for significantly less entrepreneurs that are internet-exposed. I’m pretty sure that for the huge majority of users, the webpage builder offers enough option. If you are looking for an easy but solid sales alternative or landing page editor, then ClickFunnels is a superb tool. It has not attained its popularity on promises, and that I am giving 4/5 celebrities to it.
